I’ve just received an email from NCT to say my complaint has been upheld , thanks to NCT fir a prompt and professional response

You know sometimes you just have nothing else to say this company is getting worse by the days

I got to the 39 bus at Queen Street as it was just about to pull out. He'd closed the doors but couldn't move because there was another bus in front of him waiting. I knocked on the door and he looked at me and said NO and looked away. The bus sign said the Carlton Valley bus was due which meant the bus had left a little early, so there was absolutely no reason why he refused me. This was a spiteful and vindictive act by someone who clearly hates his job. I reluctantly joined the queue and watched the bus as it sat there for another 2 minutes idling before it could pull away; the driver turning away another person whilst doing so. It's drivers like these that give NCTX a bad reputation. He was a youngish driver, Reg of bus was YD73 FSL and approx. time was 16:08.

The bus 18 which taking care of the Beeston and Stapleford is a one huuuuge trash!
I’m living in Beeston since 5 years and the only thing what changed is that morning buses are not late.

Every day I’m going back to home buses are late 15-20 min or don’t show up at all.
So many times I came back from work before bus arrival time and they are just driving avay 5-6 minutes before they supposed to.
This is RIDICULOUS and so much ANNOING.
People after work wants to go home not wait 1h for bus which supposed to be a while before.

I’ve lived in Nottingham my whole life, and I used to think NCTX was bad. Now experiencing other companies, this bus company is amazing:

1) Their buses are constantly clean, inside and out

2) The bus models are great. I’m loving the new electric ones

3) The bus drivers are mostly nice. You sometimes get a few rude or distant ones here and there, but most are friendly. I had a bus driver today- the 35 going to Bulwell, that left the city centre at 13:00/13:01 who was lovely, and constantly had a smile on his face. There was also another amazing geezer a couple weeks ago, unfortunately I can’t remember the time of the bus but he was very interactive with everyone.

4) The idea of separate colours for bus lines are so creative, makes it so easy to navigate

5) The bus app is so easy to use and is extremely helpful

6) The electronic screens make it so easy to know when the next bus is

7) The bus leaflets have just the right amount of information.

8) They constantly update their Twitter

There are only a few critiques I have:

1) Sometimes the buses are late, then come in 2’s and 3’s. I think this happens everywhere though

2) The 77 to Strelley. I hate this bus.

3) The older bus models for both single and double deckers, ie Optare Solo’s. But these are thankfully becoming very rare.

So I’m very happy with the company. I think the people with bad reviews need to experience other bus companies!

Bus drives past with my arm out, always late, dont stop, worst bus company in the uk.

Over the 20 odd years haven't had a bad experience on NTC busses.

I caught the 79 bus at 13.08 on Beckhampton Rd, bus number 651.
The driver was so polite and happy with all of his customers. The lights had failed on hucknall Rd, he asked if I had to cross the road, said yes, he blocked the road with his bus so I could cross. He is a credit to your company. My mother Mrs Sheila Zalewski was one of the first lady bus drivers for NCT and her motto was manners cost nothing.

I have never accounted a more rude and aggressive bunch of driver's in my life

It's not good nasty bumpy buses especially on the 35 and 36 rude drivers that never say hi or goodbye my mum has a shopping trolley and once when she got on to go upstairs the driver drove off without letting her sit down she almost slipped but grabbed onto the handrail appaling service

Absolutely useless.
The times quoted are never right and after speaking to someone who worked at nctx it was confirmed that y25 service is the first one to drop..

I am suspicious of some of the negative reviews.
I regularly use buses on the Green Line, and think 90% of the drivers are pleasant and helpful.
Those that complain about the timetable, should see the service in Kent.
Even large towns have more than an hour between buses.

For almost seven years, I have been using the Nottingham City bus. Most bus drivers are genuinely horrible people. Not even in India have I encountered ruder drivers than the Nottingham City bus drivers. I really can't express myself because I don't know how to describe them, and I don't have any words for them. I portray them as just evil.

Worst company in the world! Id rather take a train then have to deal with NCTX

This experience I’m writing about now has to be the worst bus journey I’ve ever taken. This story starts with me standing at the Oxclose lane bus stop. For some reason the 79A that was supposed to arrive at exactly 15:43 decided to roll up at 15:50. Ordinarily the 7 minute delay wouldn’t bother me after all this is NCT we’re talking about, one of their buses turning up on time the exception to the rule. But on this occasion it was raining and as a family including two push chairs had already occupied the interior of the bus shelter so I was forced to stand in the rain. Once the bus had finally arrived I’m afraid to say the problems didn’t end. I don’t know if the driver was trying to make up the lost time he took reaching my stop late or if he has some secret deal with a local chiropractor but this driver saw fit to take every speed bump in the estates at around at least 30 miles per hour. If timed well you can lift your bottom off the seat to avoid the jolting from the drivers ragging about but for the most part shooting jolts of pain would run up my back every time he forced the bus over the speed bumps like he’s behind the wheel of a Subaru on a world rally stage. I’d like to say that after this experience I will never use an NCT bus service ever again but as I rely on it to get me too and from work I can’t see that happening in my near future. I only hope that this review will be read by the NCT HR department and a complete sacking of their current staff and subsequent hiring of much needed new blood can sort this problem out but I worry that the lack of care for their customers well-being is trained into them by their superiors. In 2019 NCT won the award for best bus service in the country, oh how standards have fallen. I very much doubt they could even win best bus service in the northern hemisphere nowadays.

One of the bad poblic transport which is u have to wait for 20 min to get bus on Sundays ?why? Like the people doesn’t have life on Sundays or sometimes u will be on time in bus stop by timetable but u will see the bus gone 2 min before the timetable time .the terrible think no body care about that if u gonna be late for work or appointment or whatever.sometimes u don’t get bus or sometimes three bus coming together

Give the company a break....99% of buses run on time, are clean, and go close to wherever you want to be. Positive experiences are not reviewed- only when something goes wrong. Come on all you happy travellers- get reviewing. I don't work for the company, I use various services fairly regularly and am very happy with all.

disgusting service the driver just laughed and waved while driving past me and my 3 year with our arms out. the bus was practically empty and with easter sunday a while till the next bus probably why he found it hilarious. you raise the prices but offer worse service… makes sense… sort out your drivers and stop hiring any idiot

I ask for return ticket on the number 69 bus and the bus driver starts arguing back while giving inappropriate faces .

Very bad customer service

I would like to take the opportunity to thank NCT. Not sure whose idea it was to put the lilac 24 at Netherfield Retail Park. I live at Rivendell in Stoke Bardolph so I had the choice of the 50 to the city or the 26 to go up to Carlton Hill. We have no buses at Rivendell except the 775 which goes to Netherfield and Burton Joyce. It is an absolute game changer having the choice of another bus. Thank you NCT. Also hoping that the 50 heads down to Rivendell once the construction is over.
