It took a little longer than I thought it should but I love my kayak and in the end a few days does not matter!

Took a while to get the item from the date I ordered it - not a major issue as I did not need it right away. (Seat Cushion for the Kayak). The real issue is the size of the packaging for such a small seat cushion - came in a huge oversized box which was a total waste and far too large of a footprint for such a small item. I took photos of the product and the packaging if anyone is interested to see what I am talking about - would be glad to send if needed.

We ordered 2 kayaks on May 18th for a trip we are taking on June 24th. One kayak arrived promptly when expected, but we are still waiting on the other one. Many emails back and forth, many phone calls with customer service, and more than a month later the kayak still has not even been shipped, even though we were promised it would arrive in time for our trip. I called last week and was told that it would ship this Monday or Tuesday, which it did not. Very disappointed with the fact that Oru continued to mislead us about when the kayak would be sent to us, and now we are about to leave on our trip with only the one kayak.

I placed an order for accessories in late May. The order was not processed for well over a week, despite having been charged to my credit card. A full week after a UPS tracking label was assigned to my order, I still have not received the package, nor does UPS have any information about it. I fault Oru, and and not UPS, for this issue.

It has been 3 weeks since my wife and I spent over $3,000 on two kayaks, vests, and packs. Since receiving the order confirmation email the day of purchase we have heard nothing from Oru. The website said they would ship within 10-14 days, so we were ready to be patient. But 21 days have passed and we have received zero communication from Oru regarding the timeline of the delivery. We’re beginning to wonder if it’s all a big scam.

We saw the Beach kayak on displayed at REI in Portland, OR and immediately grasped how it could free us to explore without roof racks.
When we came home to PA, my wife purchased one. However, since the season was over, she did not take to the water until May. That sold us and we quickly bought a second one. We were greatly impressed upon watching what two kayakers with their hard shell boats had to go through to decomission their kayaks and lift them to top of the cars. Doing ours was much easier and quicker. And the two fit right into my minivan!

While I have not yet received and tested my kayak the customer support has been excellent! Thanks very much for that.

Beach = best way to enjoy mountain lakes!
We have no kayaking experience but were able to assemble the Beach and get out on the water from our campsite with a minimum of fuss and luggage. Really happy to be able to enjoy the water without the hassle of buying racks, loading kayak on car, etc.

It has taken over a month to ship me a simple seat cushion. If it was back ordered, you should have said that on the phone when I called. You said you would send it USPS. Now you've sent it UPS signature required, so I'm likely to not be there to sign, and will have to go pick it up.

All this for a minor purchase.

Love your boats but this service is terrible.

I've been awaiting for over a month for a piece of my kayak to be replaced and have received
1) 0/5 calls answered (2 resulted in a full voicemail)
2) A delay between 5-15 days between email responses
3) Poor replies (forgot to ask for my address) from emails
4) NO replacement part yet

With Wisconsin having a limited kayaking season, these delays are bringing me to return my kayak as I'll be lucky to get a couple weeks out of it this summer

I made my kayak purchase on May 14/18 and in less than a week was notified that products were now on sale. I contacted the company and was very disappointed when they would not credit me the difference for the sale price, even taking into account the short time frame between my purchase and the sale.

I have been waiting almost 3 weeks for a relatively small part but one I need in order to use my kayak. I think this is terrible customer service.

I ordered the oru backpack and LOVE it! The shoulder strap worked well for quick carries here and there but for any long hauls the backpack is so handy! Sturdy zippers, durable fabric, and great colors.
Shipping was smooth and I really appreciated the email updates informing me of the status of the shipping.

I have not used my Bay St kayak yet... am excited to do so. So it’s too early for me to give feedback on it. However, I am old school all the way, and for me that means the quality of customer care is equal in importance to the product. I had some odd questions and requests upon buying my kayak. And, was totally taken aback at, not only the high quality customer support, but also how they backed that up (unprompted) with financial compensation. I use the word “compensation” with hesitation here, because I never felt the company owed me anything. Nevertheless, they initiated a level of customer care that I’ve not seen in decades. As a result, I trust the company completely. And I know if I have any issues with the products, they will respond eagerly.
They kind of restored my faith in humanity.

Overall a great experience purchasing from Oru Kayak. My kayak went a little astray in the shipping process, however it has now arrived. The staff at Oru were prompt in their responses and I felt like they genuinely wanted to help me.

The Oru Kayak Bay model is perfect for those high alpine destinations you can't drive to. Every time I take it to a popular place it draws a crowd. It stows away in my small home nicely. Great investment to have a vessel and not have the bulky thing in the garage all the time. I just wish my friends could rent one to go with me. It's pretty damn strong and tracks really well. I can't wait to take it in the ocean this summer.

I recently purchased 2 Kayaks, (Bay ST and Beach). Oru Kayak customer service was really good. They were always in constant communication with me on regards the status of my order and shipping. I had my 2 kayaks shipped to Vancouver, BC without any problems. The products arrived in perfect conditions, just as expected. I would definitely recommend this company.
