The course was engaging and informative.
Because of work commitments Phoenix allowed me to split the two weeks of the course which was appreciated!
I had two different lecturers for each work and both were excellent though with different teaching styles.

I found the experience of completing my Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice with Phoenix Health & Safety very enjoyable and interesting. Matt Griffin my Tutor was extremely supportive and gave feedback on each assignment extremely quickly and good knowing if I had passed so able to move on to next assignment. I also found the portal where all the assignments were located extremely easy to navigate. I'm looking forward to booking my next course with Phoenix H&S

Danny Cousins is an expert tutor in this field, Phoenix are very good.
Can only hope you get Danny Cousins for the Nebosh Fire Safety Certificate. Just an excellent tutor, extremely engaging with a wealth of knowledge I haven't experienced with any other trainer in my 10 years within the sector. It was alot of information in a short period of time, but he somehow gets you to stay engaged and take it. A real pleasure, thank you Danny.

I have just completed my Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Phoenix is a great company to complete this course with. Fantastic from start to finish. Excellent support throughout my Level 6 NVQ journey
I have recently completed the ProQual Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice, and I am delighted with the support I received from Phoenix Health & Safety throughout the process. The qualification was awarded on 6 October 2026 and represents a significant professional achievement for me.
As someone working in a senior health and safety role, I wanted a qualification that would allow me to demonstrate competence through real workplace practice rather than examinations. The NVQ provided exactly that. The structure of the programme enabled me to reflect on, evidence and further develop the work I undertake in risk management, safety leadership, governance, organisational learning and safety culture.
A particular thank you must go to Matt Griffin, whose guidance throughout the qualification was outstanding. His feedback was always clear, constructive and timely, helping me understand not only what was required to complete the qualification but also how I could improve as a health and safety professional. He struck an excellent balance between challenge and support and was always willing to answer questions and provide direction when needed.
The systems used by Phoenix were straightforward and easy to navigate, making it simple to track progress and manage evidence submissions. This allowed me to focus my effort on learning and demonstrating competence rather than struggling with administration.
Completing a Level 6 qualification requires commitment and perseverance, but Phoenix provided the support, encouragement and structure needed to make that journey achievable.
I would happily recommend Phoenix Health & Safety to anyone considering a health and safety qualification, particularly the Level 6 NVQ route.

NEBOSH General
Shane Goss was a great tutor, made NEBOSH General Certificate interesting and understandable.
Unfortunately Phoenix let us down at the beginning of the course - no pre information or pre-work shared in advance, and significant issues gaining access to the course materials. Everyone on the course had a similar experience.
Phoenix also decided mid way through the course to change tutors but after complaints were raised they backtracked on this.

I’ve just completed the 9 day NEBOSH National General Certificate through the virtual classroom delivery method. I have studied with Phoenix previously and they are always great with providing clear, informative learning materials, and I would absolutely recommend them for a range of courses.
Our tutor was Shane Goss and he was superb - probably one of the most engaging and approachable trainers I’ve experienced. His training style was brilliant, he paced the sessions really well and left plenty of time for feedback and questions. He made a quite daunting syllabus feel achievable and straightforward. Our learning group was great too, just the right size and a really good mix of people. Thank you Shane, hope to have you on another course one day!
