Don't get the cheese subscription it's a lie and a scam! The mystery boxes are better value for money but still are as repetitive as the cheese subscriptions.

Honestly don't waste your money on Pong, use Rind and Rennet. I just received my October box and it was perfect! Though more expensive it's better value for money. Unlike pong they're aren't trying to scam you and they even reveal what you get every month so you can see the boxes aren't repetitive.

When I'm promised one thing such as "no cheese will be repeated" and get another it makes me quite angry! If it was me I'd want to be informed by a review, if the company isn't honest enough to it themselves.

They're both cheese subscription one is £24 and in return you get £20.39 worth of product and the other is £49 and in return you get £58.80 of product (prices come from both companies websites). I'm entitled to my honest opinion and reccomendation. I would hope Pong will take it as constructive feedback to improve their wording and clarity to improve others experiences.

Was a bit cautious with some of the reviews but my box has arrived as expected and looks and smells lovely can’t wait to try all the cheeses!!!

Pong Cheese were extremely helpful in setting up deliveries to suit our planned schedule.
The cheese was delivered on the date promised and was totally delicious. A selection of some of the best British and continental cheeses.

First subscription order and two slightly different boxes arrived. Sent 2 emails asking which was right and whether I needed to return either which they ignored. Found their chat function and the responses were so wooden, I’m still not sure if it was an AI chat bot though they claimed not to be. They won’t give me any guidance on what I can use, all they can say is that they will investigate but can’t tell me what I can use. Subscription cancelled and will be posting both boxes back to them straight after the weekend demanding a refund. They’re the worst company I’ve dealt with in a long time. Nothing positive to say

Edited to give an extra star as they eventually responded saying to keep the extra box. Good response from them but was hard work getting there

2nd Edit - gave them another go, second delivery was faultless and the cheese stunning. Third delivery was a disaster, had a prior engagement on delivery day, so instead of leaving in a safe place as they should, Royal Mail have taken the box back to the depot to fester- I’m done - subscription cancelled

The cheese I sent arrived melted. Not sure if this is down to Pong or DHL handling the delivery.
After 5 weeks of me emailing and phoning, I was refunded about half my money.
Not really a good result.

Pong emailed me with the offer of "The French Selection Box" containing four soft French cheeses. My wife particularly likes Munster. When the cheese arrived they had substituted two (50%) of the cheese without having the courtesy to check if I wanted the substitute cheeses. One of the cheese they sent was a hard cheese (Comte) and the other a Brie. If I had wanted these I could have got them at my local supermarket same quality and at a lower price. I checked on their website both of the cheeses and particularly the Munster for my wife were still shown as available to order.
I ordered several other cheeses including a L'Affine au Chablis. This was substituted with a short dated Welsh cheese. The alternative that Pong recommend in their own notes is Epoisses de Bourgogne. I would certainly have preferred this to the short dated alternative they sent. Both the French cheeses were shown as available to order on their website.
I would suggest that what the are doing is in breach of the Sale of Goods Act 1979. That they are acting illegally by substituting lower quality short dated cheese whilst still offering for sale the cheese I ordered.
I also commented on their packaging. The cold bags they use to chill the cheese during transit contained warm liquid and the cheese was at "room" temperature. Two of the cheeses were decidedly squidgy. I didn't know whether to play cheese roulette with the items I had received or throw an expensive order in the bin. I emailed Pong about my concerns about the substitutions and the impact their packaging had on my cheese. I was hoping to get at least some advice about the safety of eating the cheese after all it would not be good publicity for them if I ended up in hospital plus in an ideal world for them to send me the actual cheese I ordered. Like other customers have mentioned complaint emails seem to get lost in the Pong system.
Just in case someone from Pong does respond to this review and is tempted to use as an excuse that it is currently difficult to get French cheese you might of got away with that if you were still not taking orders for the cheeses you substituted plus why substitute a short dated Welsh cheese for a French cheese. Potential lose of profit perhaps?

My sister gave me the Bastille selection of French cheeses for my birthday. It seems that what I received was not what she ordered as they included a note with the cheeses to me that they had supplier problems. Instead of all French cheeses I had an English cheese and an Italian, which they claimed were similar to some French cheeses, goodness knows which ones. I wrote and asked if I could swap the two non French cheeses, they were not prepared to do that or offer any compensation, but suggested I give the two cheeses away to the neighbours. They had not told my sister that they were supplying incorrect cheeses, they just shipped them. My sister had ordered the shipping date to be on my birthday at the end of July. They denied this as one of the cheeses sell by date was next week. As far as I can see they are in breach of the Sale of Goods Act 1979 which states that the product shipped should be the same as the product ordered. Of course problems do occur when the product may not be available and suppliers need to swap out, but at least treat your customers as customers if you want them to come back to you and remain as customers.

I have been sending Pong Cheese hampers as gifts for several years. They are always well received. The company is very helpful if I have a problem with dates .

Paid extra for a named delivery but product arrived 2 days later - in a damaged box and warm. Have contacted the company but not had any reply.

I have looked at your email told you what happened looked at my statement thinking it would now say £21? But it still says £98 what is going on please cancel everything except the small cheese box I am 75 not very technically minded but I have never had such a problem with any other site if I wanted to cancel anything if you can’t put this right cancel all of my order and I will shop elsewhere. Placed a PONG order but must have had a senior moment and gave the wrong address details so order not received by intended recipient. Contacted PONG who were very accommodating of my faux par, took the correct address details and resent the order. So very pleased with the 5* service from PONG.

I was sent a delicious selection of different cheeses in the mystery box .I have used Pong cheese selection as useful gifts at various price levels which I am sure the recipients enjoyed

Good customer service. I was sent the wrong pack of cheese. This was disappointing as I had selected the pack carefully and I didn’t like some of the cheeses sent in error. However, once Pong realised that they had made. an error, they pulled out all the stops to see I got the correct cheese for my special event. I can’t comment on the cheese as I’ve not tasted it yet. Thank you Pong for your helpful and speedy response.

I would like to review the cheese...but it didn't arrive. I ordered in November for delivery in December in time for Christmas..the box arrived but was EMPTY....it seems the "courier" had helped themselves to the contents. I informed PONG immediately by phone and have followed up with 4 emails. They have stated they have opened a theft investigation with the courier...but that's it so far....no refund or replacement. The investigation is between them and the courier....and they have failed in their contract with me to deliver the cheese when requested....so a refund should have immediately been implemented....
Won't be using them again.

We have always enjoyed the cheeses from Pong. It is like having a specialist delicatessen to supply unusual and tasty cheeses in domestic quantities for the table. They are also helpful and informative should you require advice.
