Very poor experience and completely put me off ordering.

I went on the company’s website to order gravel and the price was clearly shown online. Before placing the order, I emailed to check whether they could deliver on a certain date. They confirmed they could, but then suddenly added around £200 to the price.

When I questioned why the price had gone up, I was told there had been a price increase in the last week and that the website had not been updated yet. The confusing part is that the website still allowed the product to be purchased at the original price shown.

To me, that is not good enough. If a price is advertised on the website and customers can still buy at that price, it should be honoured. You should not have to email a company and then be told the price is suddenly £200 more because the website is out of date.

It felt misleading, unprofessional, and like the pricing depended on whether you contacted them first. I will not be ordering from them and would advise others to be careful before trusting the prices shown on their website.

A really good selection of paving options at a reasonable price and really helpful staff. I like the fact that you can collect gravel, soil, compost etc loose and only get and pay for what you need plastic free!!

Previously ordered some green compost and some sleepers which I was more than happy with but needed some more compost for a newly made raised bed and order their green compost/soil mix. Very disappointed with the amount of non soil/compost material in the bag.

We were on the lookout for Porcelain Setts, surprisingly hard to get hold of in our experience - Even the place we ordered our porcelain paving from didn't stock any.

We started calling round and in the main was getting 2-3 weeks to get any.

We stumbled upon Rivar by pure chance trawling through Google pages and gave them a call.

Nobody answered and I didn't leave a message, but regardless they took the initiative to see my missed call and call the number back.

They then sourced the exact Setts I was after within a day and on collection were able to help me load them into the car and give advice on the project I'm working on.

It's all the basic things so many companies miss, done brilliantly.

The depot near Basingstoke were very helpful and the items we bought were good quality and promptly shipped. Will use them again for the next project in our garden.
