I have been a lifelong player and subscriber to Runescape. But now I feel the game is dying. Most of the playerbase are botting. Bots in Grand Exchange spamming gold selling services. I don't feel like I'm playing an online game anymore. I'm considering stopping playing the game.

Jagex are worse than heroine dealers.
Their new Chinese owners must know exactly how to tap into that opium feinding mentality. Stale, outdated, with no real direction aside from avidly stealing from their players. These people are bums to the degree that gives homeless people a bad name; they sit on their ugly british asses and improve little to nothing in regards to basic quality. Predatory in every sense of the word. Literal hundreds of hours with zero guarantee of items grinded towards (like giving someone heroine like false hope). These people are criminals literally stealing time and money. Spend thousands of irl dollars in their game only to have them false ban on zero credibility. I honestly don't know how players havent ripped these people out of their homes and offices into the streets to show them how the real world treats criminals and thieves... Something about Jagex wreaks, would not suprise me in the slightest if their predatory marketing attitude aimed towards children bled into their real lives, these people are scum and there is not one redeeming factor that would suggest otherwise. No wonder their staff make less than 25k annually, all the rest of our cash is funneled into their hush funds, legal fees, and plane trips to Jeff Epstein Island. Will make a bet that a headline will surface in regards to this information, these crooks deserve swift and unwavering justice served on a cold platter.

Well where do i start been a member of RS on and off since 2002 spent a lot of money in this time on membership, Few months ago these jokers banned me for Real world item trading when someone in my clan split loot on a boss loot was 750m each seems anything high value their crappy systems detect it and they point the finger at a Real world item trading.

Creosus boss is a laugh getting level 3 ironmen there with a bad attitude messing it up for everyone else you lose your crap and get muted for 3 days who ever heard of a level 3 earning a 1.2b drop by doing f all.

Jagex has lastly gone down the route of selling bonds, treasure hunter keys and rune coins this is a pathetic way of earning money all this does is encourage gambling and doesnt set good examples to your younger players.

Dead content is released the same recycled crap for example spring event with the butterfly's, and the beach crap is this what people now pay an increased membership for ?

One day i went to remove the bolts out of my pernix quiver and an in game bug destroyed it in the process submitted a bug report to jagex and basically got told im not getting it back.

Im slowly getting fed up now so will wait until my membership expires and then call it a day with these muppets all jagex mods now look like 18 year old virgin nerds.

I was logged into Old School Runescape with my Runescape (RS3) account credentials and was accused of macroing. I logged into Old-School Runescape (OSRS,) and the screen froze up in the tutorial/newbie part of the game. I quit playing for the day but when I tried to log in a few days later I was unable to log into the game because my account had been banned. I lost an account that I had for over 5 years and had logged a few hundred hours on. I had two weeks of paid membership on my account and they never gave me a refund or anything.

I am a Linux user, the operating system for my computer is not Windows or MacOS it is Linux. I used the official software for Runescape provided in the SnapStore. I don't know what happened whether I was hacked or the software I was using is buggy, or if it was something else.

What really bothers me is that the message I received from Jagex could have been pre-written and in it they tell you that can't appeal the ban. Jagex, the parent company of RS3 and OSRS judge you guilty and you have no recourse. They deleted my account when I still had a few weeks left of paid membership and said their moderators had investigated and found me guilty, without any proof. They tell you they will ignore any request you make on social media, or in any forums, etc.

I changed my name from my original username that I've had for 15 years for a joke with some friends, only to find it's blocked by the name filter while attempting to change it back? Are you serious??

I've spent days trying to get support going through their intentionally convoluted support page on their website, or their twitter only to find that support is either nonexistent or you get a canned reply from some underpaid intern. Meanwhile the most vile and inappropriate names get through the filter while we can't have the word "phoenix" because it contains "hoe".

Jagex has awful customer support, and I cancelled my subscription because of it. They perm muted my account a few years ago and they still didn't tell me what I did wrong to deserve a permanent mute, perhaps because I actually didn't, and I have proof of it.

Apparently it's supposed to say why in the "Account History" page, but all it says is "Manual Permanent Mute". I clicked on it to "review the evidence", all it says is "We have sent you an inbox message to your message centre explaining this permanent mute.". I checked the message center, but no message about my mute is there, nor in my email.

They denied my appeal, still didn't tell me why, and I couldn't even email them to dispute it if they did tell me why because they don't let people email them UNLESS there's a payment problem. Goes to show where their priorities are.

If you go on reddit on 2007scape and look up 'perm muted for this', there's a comment by ModMatK saying they're "tempted to perm mute his account anyway" for something that happened on reddit and in-game what is an at most pretty minor offence. A clear example that power abuse most definitely happens behind the scenes.

On Glassdoor, the player support salary is around 20,000 euros annually, clearly they don't work here for the money. If Jagex wasn't so cheap, they could hire a better CS team.

Been playing a fair few years. Gave a friend 500m in a trade as he hadn't long started playing.
two days later i get banned for real world trading??? Submitted an appeal. 48 hours later still no response

I didn't do any real world trade, I created an old school account and worked hard to level up. but Closed my account with false accusations. I urge all people to claim this website and do not waste your precious time. Thank you.

I just lost my account because i got hacked and someone did real world trading on it, i asked if they could check the ips so they can see that it wasnt me…

Basically between the "squeal of fortune", "treasure hunter", "flower game" and "duel arena"(otherwise widely known as sand casino) over the years this game has been more like "introduction to gambling 101"

Lots of toxic players and the skill grinding is a main concept of the game, as in, what you're mainly doing is working at it like a job.

It's not as fun as it used to be, and the community has gotten to where its about a split 50/50 degenerates to non-degenerates.

Can't really trust anyone and apparently using a VPN gets you minor ban for buying gold for staking.

Yes they are trying to make changes to improve the game, which I would construe as "too little, too late". There is already too much illicit currency, not enough being done about common scams, and the Jagex staff appear to primarily hide from the game in fear of their creation.

Was scammed so many times, and for significant amounts of gold, sometimes it was my fault, but other times I was legitimately "scammed".
I've been scammed for 485M+ in 2008 (I can actually find you the video).
Scammed for black Santa hat when it first came out. ("anti-scam")
Scammed for 2.5B at duel arena in 2012.
Scammed for 440M OSRS in 2021. (tricked into stepping through a portal in safe area).
I played OSRS and RS2/3. Since 2006.
Never trust traded, never allow accept aid.
I have seen people smuggle things in duel arena that aren't supposed to be there (specifically C-wars bandaids and Stealing Creation potions...)
I have seen them withdrawal from a duel directly themselves and the game tell me "it's a tie".

At one point I spent ~$300 on squeal / treasure hunter with all the "purple" (highest tier) ACCIDENTALLY blocked off. So equivalent to literally throwing it down the drain.
Didn't bother trying to get my money back because I knew I wouldn't.
This is not the way.
This game has disappointed me or caused me to fall flat on my face so many times I've lost count.

And the "real-time" economy does nothing but essentially encourage all the cheating and scamming..

I play the Old school runescape since 2 years and never had a problem.

One of their UIs is broken (which stops me from normal gameplay) but the online support service keeps sending me to unhelpful pre-written help that doesn't apply to my situation. There seems to be no way to contact them about it.

no matter if you had a subscription or not. I simply want to ask them to reset my account on 07 so i can enjoy the two games i'm actually paying for
