Deployed overseas for 6 months and I came back to find my account was hijacked and permanently disabled with no chance of appealing the ban, played the game since 2004 banned in 2020, I tried all the different types of appeal online that the forum recommends, even tried twitter & even tried to apologise for "cheating" when it wasn't even me but I guess Jagex have no customer service reps at all since I have never received any feedback from any appeal

Old school RuneScape is one of the best games about the RuneScape 3 version is a pay to win mtx mess

Worst customer support I've ever dealt with by far and it's not even close. My account is maxed on both RS3 and OSRS, Has thousands of hours logged, and is 15+ years old. My account got locked trying to change the email. I received no support on the issue. In fact, there is no support to receive because it's purely an automated system. Even if you are lucky enough to contact an employee on a different platform, you get linked right to their automated one. I have not been able to log into that account for over a month and I'm thinking I never will be able to again. 15+ years and thousands of hours wasted because not one employee wants to help someone. Absolutely horrific support.

good for the most part. So many bugs but awesome game

Great game, have been playing since a child and love it, even to this day, with all the new updates and even access to old school runescape, thanks Jagex, keep up the great work!

Turned my $1,000 computer into a paperweight!
First off, I have an Asus Tuf gaming laptop and I've played games like RUST, League, Black Desert, etc. with NO ISSUES.
Now for Runescape....

I downloaded the game, seemed to be working okay, but with lag, so lowered the graphics.... The lag got worse over time even putting the graphics all the way to minimal in every way...
Then it happened...
The game froze...
I tried to log out, my COMPUTER froze... So I tried to ctrl alt dlt to the task manager to shut it down... Nothing.. my computer was frozen, locked up...
I unfortunately had to hard shut down my computer.... Turned it back on and got welcomed with a disk drive fix screen...

Computer loaded up, but was really slow, I uninstalled and removed the game from my computer in every way possible, every file, but my computer just didn't like the game apparently because It froze up again when I tried shutting the computer down now..
GREAT...
Tried turning it back on... Sat on the Asus logo then to the bios screen, no options for other start up.
Now it's bricked to the bios screen, no longer seeing my hard drive at all...
I now have a $1,000 paperweight because of Runescape!

I have played for a little over 10 years. I am an ironman account on RS07 and went to log on one day and it said my account was disabled. I look, and it shows that it was disabled for "macroing" which is using a bot of some sort which I have never done. I actually am an advocate of getting rid of bots. However, they falsely banned me for using one. I try reaching out to the support team with NO RESPONSE. Any time I get someone from a different department they tell me I need to deal with the support team. I explain that I have tried to reach out and no one answers and they tell me sorry there is nothing they can do. Long story short, everything just went in circles with no answer from the support team. Very fun game but very disappointing when you have an issue and you are a player that is not a popular streamer. When a streamer had this same issue it was fixed within THE HOUR. For me, I never got a response. I would not recommend playing if you plan on putting long hours to grind and will feel bad if you get banned for no apparent reason and receive no response as to why.

Let me tell you. This game is a great game to put time into. Especially old school runescape. It has such a friendly community as well.

They literally don't have customer support. if you lose your account, or have any porblems with you e-mail or passwords it's done. You can start all over.

I have been playing this game for the better part of 15 years...That being said I have never had my account hijacked before. I have heard plenty of other stories too though. Its ridiculous that Jagex has not fixed or even made recovery from people stealing all of your bank easier, because there's "nothing they can do" or are "not responsible for lost items". I'd also like to say, Jagex is supposed to be an innovator of player and account safety; yet here we are. I lost millions and there's nothing these creators will do, despite that I have been paying for a membership for over a decade. Why should good innocent players be held accountable for the actions of others. How many hours of play did I lose? How much money did I spend on a membership while I built that up? I can tell you, because there's a sale history that Jagex also probably has and I'm wondering why they can't get any of my stuff back? Why should we lose our stuff because Jagex hasn't created a way to stop this from happening. And don't tell me about bank pins and the authenticator, because I had those on as well and the hijacker removed them anyway. I love this game, but I can't stand that Jagex is still willing to stand by and do nothing for their players. Its no wonder people aren't playing this game anymore.

In short don't waste your time.
Now for why.
It could be a great game but since it is so old, older players will come on to new worlds just to abuse you.
They don't need what you have,they don't need your gold.
They are just toxic a-holes so don't waste your time because the devs don't care.
Now I was thinking about doing the pay to play until I saw how easy it was for much older players (whom you have no chance in Hell against) to come onto new worlds and abuse you as a newb.
So like I said don't waste your time.

The most stupid part about this game is the rng base. Luckily for the players we have rune lite calculators where you can see percentages of fights. Jagex gives rng to the players who keep losing making it unfair for the players who are actually good from practicing. Its why the game is such sh!t and continues to go down hill every day. For example I just lost 17 out of 18 stakes to a player I had 14 mele stats on which should be impossible in a box duel.

Beware of user Dragonurak72. He stole my PayPay account information to purchase old school bonds.

Jagex charged my card TWICE after cancelling my membership. I guess the morbidly obese mod mark has a McDonald's addiction to feed.

Jagex has a lot of information on their forums with a large amount of customer service agents that will find you a resolving before you need to pick up the phone. However, if you should have to pick up the phone and call them they can be very fast to solve your issue. Also, the game is amazing too.

Such a great game but the staff at Jagex seem to not care about the amount of people abusing this game.

Bot farming has completely ruined certain skills like mining. If you are a low level minor and you try to mine certain things like rune or f2p iron then your gonna have a bad time trying to. The bot that has been mining iron for hours is going to be a higher level then you and mine the ore before you can. Also magic logs are another thing that you don't get many of because of botters taking them all. This makes certain skills take forever and must be fixed. Yes Jagex close down 1 bot site every few years but that's not even making the siltiest bit of difference. They need to work on patching bots not closing down a website every now and then.

When you goto places where there are many players like the grand exchange or if you goto servers like mini games and stuff your chat will be spammed with all sorts of scams and stuff like buying tbow 1.2m and buy gold here w w w dot ... Ofcourse these are most likely scams specially the one where they are buying a tbow and they are using 2m worth of plat tokens an not 2b worth. But its annoying and your report them and they come back the next day.

The dual arena is just full of scammers and should be removed from the game. I don't really need to go into detail but its all players that know little tricks in order to win and its no different then wasting money on scratch cards except the players staking you have an ace up their sleeve.

This game is full of people trying to lure you and kill you for valuable items or they will do little trade scams and stuff. Do not trust anyone in this game you do not know.

Please I indulge you to play any game other than this I know it’s fun but They don’t give one care about the customer trust me
I’ve had 4 accounts over past 15 years all of which were banned permanently for macro
Which is complete bs I earned everything myself without cheating

If you max a skill they will ban you
If you get an inferno cape they will ban you

If you learn how to manipulate the
Market at GE and make millions
( which is actually really easy to do)
Right again they will permanently block
You and tell you to appeal just so they can tell
You oh your not gonna continue with that account you have spent 2 years on
But your welcome to start a new on

you will get permanent ban suddenly. it can't be appealed and you can never reach for the customer support. no one will trust you or help you. the money and time spent are all gone.
