Major Electrical Issues

Started having electrical issues, (flashing lights, major voltage surges, tripped GFI's) about 2 months ago, and they kept getting worse. I noticed a tree limb laying across the incoming power lines of my neighbor, and my home. Called S.C.E. and explained the issues.
Service tech came by later that day, said "nothing wrong with the power, must be a short in your attic somewhere". He removed the tree branch, but that did not help.
Called my electrician, who checked all over the house, attic, electrical panel, etc. and found that the service cables from the power pole to the "Angel Head" had 4 splices that were all loose. He then called S.C.E. to have those cabels replaced, which they did the next day.
No help, lights still flashing, voltage surges, etc.
I then checked with my next door neighbor who told me he was having the same issues, even though they ALSO replaced the cables to his home.
ONE DAY LATER.....MAJOR issues with power surges, tripped G.F.I.'s, and flashing lights!
Noticed yet ANOTHER S.C.E. truck parked 2 doors down, and a tech was replacing that home's cables as well! I checked with that neighbor who told me he was having those same issues!
Called S.C.E. once again and put in yet another service ticket. About an hour later, received a message from them stating "power has been restored". No mention of what the cause was, or if it would happen again.....
What an experience, fortunately it was finally resolved

Worse electric company Grinch

Xmas eve 2024, 8 pm now. Power is out since 8 am. Hundreds of dollars of seafood is going bed in frig. Minor kids and elders with medical needs at the house. No outage updates or reactions. They just turn the power off... Guessing it is some wind or fallen branch or some other repair somewhere, because there are no updates on their website. They kill the switch any way any time... Unskilled and uneducated workers and monopoly-minded corporate greedy management. And there is no way to contact them except the endless wait on the phone. Can't wait till we all electric here in South Cal... merry Xmas!

Just want to remind the public what a treacherous demonic company Southern California Edison is. They price gouge every one of their customers by increasing rates exponentially on business and residential customers. They turn off the power and prevent you from making money at your business and there is no compensation. They are handing out bills that usually are $750, now are $1485. Disgusting company with disgusting values. I hope Trump gets in office and sends a very clear message to utilities that not only hammer people with high unrealistic power bills, they charge them late fees because it is their mortgage or the power bill. They are scumbags at the highest level.

Impossible to reach a live person and…

Impossible to reach a live person and they have been defrauding people charging late fees after receiving payments on time yet taking weeks to process them. You can't use their website because it causes the banks to red flag the payment at times and you end up with a returned payment.

Nonemergent midnight work and residential neighborhood. Completely unacceptable

Three days ago they put up signs on my residential street telling people not to park on the road. Then they arrived after 10 PM with large equipment shining flood lights into my windows mirror meters away from the front of my condo, running heavy equipment which sounded like large trucks with back up Warning systems, jackhammers, and screaming to each other in the street, then they entered my property and started wandering around my yard and poking around the powerlines between my house and the neighbors house without talking to me or asking my permission. It’s now 1230 at night and they’re still at it I made multiple phone calls and was that they are not obligated to follow the same light and sound pollution laws that the rest of society is expected to follow and that they are allowed to trespass on my property without asking my permission. I was unable to reach them directly for complaints because their offices are closed, but I guarantee they will hear from me tomorrow in detail as well as my leaving reviews and every public format I can think of. Their behavior is completely unacceptable and there is no excuse for it. This is obviously not emergency works since they posted the street signs three days ago, it’s bad business practice and horrible treatment to residential neighborhoods. This is the same company who is negligence the spark which created the thomas fire some number of years ago that directly or indirectly led to the death of more than a dozen people and burnt down part of two counties. Just another reason to not feeling impressed with this company.
They’re gonna keep me awake all night for no reason, everybody within my power knows about their unethical practices.

Customer service cannot understand…

Customer service cannot understand anyone in our family. They constantly talk over us like we don't understand what they're saying. WE UNDERSTAND!!!! YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT WE'RE SAYING!!!! ITS INFURIATING!!!!! GOD AWFUL EXPERIENCE and CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE WORST EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE!!!!

This company is the worst

This company is the worst, customer service is like dealing with a bunch of robots who treat you like another transaction. signed up for service online on a Thursday, no mention we had to send in our ID and SS card, on Saturday they turned of the electic stating we had to send in our documents. Over the weekend no one was able to help us. when we called on Monday morning they informed us it could take an additional two days to review our documents and turn electric on. Have my elderly parent living with us and we've been without power for days. They have no sense of urgency its like we are living in a third world country. I've never had to deal with an electric company like this. We pay through the roof for electric service for sub par service such as this.

Extremely Disappointed with SCE

Extremely Disappointed with SCE – Here’s Why
As a customer bound by a government-mandated monopoly, I expect reliable and fair service from Southern California Edison (SCE). Unfortunately, my experience has been anything but satisfactory. Allow me to share my frustrations:
1. Change in Net Energy Metering Agreement: At the end of 2023, SCE unilaterally altered the Net Energy Metering agreement I entered into back in 2017. This change unexpectedly more than doubled my electricity bill, a significant financial burden without prior warning or justification.
2. Billing and Monitoring Errors: Additionally, SCE experienced issues with their billing system and the time-of-day usage monitoring on their website. This led to an entire year’s worth of charges being billed at once rather than the monthly billing I had agreed to.
3. Inadequate Resolution Offered: In response to these issues, SCE offered a payment plan to address the large, unexpected bill. However, this plan is manually managed and entirely separate from the regular billing cycle. Moreover, it’s not automated and requires additional attention to avoid hefty late fees—which, I discovered, accumulate throughout the payment plan regardless of when you pay. If you pay late, it voids the payment plan altogether.
This situation has been extremely frustrating and seems fundamentally unfair. I am sharing this in hopes of drawing attention to these practices and urging SCE for a more transparent and customer-friendly approach.

If I could give no stars I would

If I could give no stars I would. Constant problems with power. No notice of outrage or work in my area. I have never seen a company so bad. I had SDGE for over 40 years and never had this problem.

Terrible (non)-service, complete crap

This company is just terrible. Their website is utter trash and their customer hotline is even worse. I think its designed to be awful. I had to maneuver through their automated system several tries before I found the operator option.....just to wait another 90 minutes to get a live person....who then is also pretty much useless and/or rude. The billing structure is extremely convoluted and hard to decipher. Just SO bad!!!

HAHA 3rd world Company. Ca the golden state. More like the 💩 state. In the dark again, and it's winter. Every month these morons cut the power. CA power upgrade my ass. And you can Forget there customer service.

The power was out last night all night

The power was out last night all night. The power was out again tonight all night to 3 AM. I’ve got food spoiling in the refrigerator. I’m sitting in a house with no heat and no electricity I have COVID-19. This house is freezing, and Edison just turns the power off whenever they want to fix something. This company is out of control. No one‘s watching them they’ve got them monopoly I don’t know what we could do to get these guys out of control but I won’t be sick with Covid forever and I’m sure I’m gonna make a recovery and as soon as I do, I’m gonna put up a website and I’m gonna get a grass roots campaign Going to bring Edison under control and make them take responsibility for their failed company . There’s no excuse for this behavior. This company is off the rails so I’m sitting at my house now on Thursday night now Friday night with no electricity and no heat. These fat cats are living in mansion somewhere making billions of dollars a year this is 100% Bull .

There billing is total crap

There billing is total crap. I have a solar system and yet i am still paying almost $200 per month. This is the problem when the state sponsors a corrupt monopoly. Yes SCE sucks but so does CA as a whole.
Their website sucks. It is convaluted and there is no eas way to find information. It is as if they do not want people to know what is going on and actually track how badly they are being ripped off. If you want to have monthly billing there is no visible way to switch.

Edison has a worst and false system for people trying to seak to a live person.e

1. SCE's phone system for customers is the worst and false, we even waited >2 hrs without anyone picking up our call, either by using customer service or turn on/off service numbers.

2. Someone in SCE made change in our turn on/off schedule without our authorization. We tried to make correction online but were prohibited, asking us to call SCE. However, no one answer the call even >2 hrs!!

3. Emergency service representative deserves "10" score because he helped us solve the problem and correct error after we struggled >2 hrs to try to speak with a live person.

I been trying to update my address to…

I been trying to to activate my solar panels since April. It's October and still nothing.

It’s been impossible to update my address to the right unit number.

They also keep raising the price of electricity non stop. the bill went from 40dlls to 160 dlls in a couple months.

You know how could I make my electricity bill more cheap? By updating my address and providing PTO for my solar panels... but it's impossible to deal with SCE.

Loss of power for over 3 hours with 0…

Loss of power for over 3 hours with 0 acknowledgement. During my morning routine after waking up the power went out, i went online a reported it since the site was not saying there was an outage in my city. We live in a highly populated neighborhood so i figured it would be resolved by the time i got back from the gym. Low and behold it was not. Still no indication that they even knew it was out based on the website. There is zero way to contact a human being. The power was out for over 4 hours with never an acknowledgment from the company.

One hour on hold

It takes at least one hour on hold to talk to a live person. That's just not acceptable. Why can't they hire more people.
"As CEO and president at Southern California Edison, Kevin M. Payne made $2.8 million in total compensation in 2019" - maybe that's why.
