I booked a one-hour paid mentorship session with Richard at SongwriterCamps to get targeted, professional feedback on my music for sync placement. I shared my objectives and discussion points in advance so the session could be focused and productive.
While the session was professional in tone, it lacked structure and actionable value. Much of the time was spent on general commentary rather than addressing the specific topics I had outlined, which made it feel underprepared.
The feedback remained high-level and did not provide the technical or strategic depth expected from a sync-focused consultation. I was looking for clear, practical steps to move from where I am to where I want to be, but instead received broad suggestions (e.g., creating playlists or mood boards) without a direct link to execution or measurable outcomes.
Overall, I expected a structured, efficient session with tailored, actionable guidance. That level of insight was not delivered, and I did not feel the session provided sufficient value for the cost.
