In addition to our twelve month warranty, we offer a further four years extended care plan on materials and workmanship on all our products (excluding Roman blinds). Had plantation blinds fitted by Thomas Sanderson 10 years ago with a 25 year warranty on all parts. Phoned Hillarys today as they now take all calls to order some small parts that had broken and they totally refused to help saying they do not honour the 25 year warranty. What a rubbish company.

Unsatisfactory response to request

I had some window shutters installed in at the end of 2019 and obviously the 5 year warranty expired in January 2025.
The clip on the rod, the end which fits in to the slat was broken on three and I emailed to see if it was possible to purchase and fit new ones myself, or to pay for an engineer to come out and possibly do this.
I was told that 'I'm afraid not, we are unable to offer this service due to the age of the order'
This is the first time I have found a company so unhelpful, very disappointed would not use this company again should I want other shutters..
No doubt they expect customers to pay for complete replacement.

Terrible service, no maintenance!

Terrible service! They will charge you top of the market prices and when asked to help you with repair or maintenance they will not do so unless you have a valid warranty. Their suggestion was literally to buy new blinds from them. I will never buy again from them and hope you can avoid the horrible customer service.

A company who cannot honour a word they say


I ordered shutters from Hillarys/Thomas Sanderson (order number SHHQ1166) and paid my deposit in March 2025. It is now March 2026, and my installation is still not complete.

Two shutters went missing and could not be fitted in July 2025, and since then I have experienced nothing but delays, excuses, and a complete lack of communication. I was repeatedly told the installer had personal issues, but the company failed to escalate the job or provide any alternative solution for almost a year.

Most recently, I was told the Field Manager would contact me within 24–48 hours. That deadline passed with no contact. I chased again and was told he was “awaiting another advisor” however there has still been no contact. This is a pattern: promises made, promises broken, and no proactive updates.

I have had to chase every step of the way, and even after raising a formal complaint, the company has still not addressed the issue of compensation for the extensive delays and service failures.

A year-long wait for missing shutters, repeated missed deadlines, and no accountability is completely unacceptable. I would strongly advise others to think carefully before placing an order.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. We spent a lot of money on electric blinds, having been given the hard sell by Alex. What was installed is SO below the quality expected and TS are completely uninterested in helping us, fobbing us off with instructions that even though the blinds are operated remotely you need to manually adjust them,EVERY DAY, completely negating the point of having electric blinds. They basically sold us electric blinds that are completely pointless! Their customer service team are rude and, worse than that, don’t even bother to read the background info and have no idea what account they are talking about!

So we had our blinds fitted on…

So we had our blinds fitted on 29/11/2022 paid just over £3000.
Had a few issues with installation dates but got around that no problem although added hassle.
Thank god for James the salesman he managed to keep things moving on,I would recommend him no problem.
So you may be thinking there is a but coming,your not wrong.
When you have an issue of any kind you need to contact customer services right so that is when things get very frustrating. I’m not saying it doesn’t get done it just take all your time and patience.
The other issue having spent so much is there guarantee, 5 years apparently on fabric but here it is only 2 years on any labour that is required.
They wanted £82 pounds to come and fix the cord for labour even though we were only 8weeks over the 2 years. I made a fuss and got that down to £42 using my salesman James as an intermediary,thanks James.
What do you do I can’t fix it, although I’m going to watch like a hawk when they come next so to be able to in the future.
In short the blinds are great, sales great, fitting great,after sales and customer services rubbish and they need to sort out there guarantee out .I look at this company as a premium product company with a premium price tag.
The saddest thing is that as I have had to pay them £42 to fix my blinds they have lost out on another order for my landing window that’s very large and front bedroom and study window probably another £3000 for the sake of £42, bad business practice guys very bad.
