Timpsons outside Tesco in Goodmayes Essex. My NHS shoes which I wear daily, summer and winter, had worn bare last October and I was slipping over. I had excellent service then.
Again today... as after nearly a year waiting for new shoes, I needed the existing ones repaired to keep me going and reduce falls.
Incredibly kind and helpful service and I would give 50 stars if I was allowed!

I would like to take the time to leave a review for Dave, who has gone absolutely above and beyond on two separate occasions. Not sure if it’s max speilmann or Timpsons as shop had both signs.

I recently had to fly home from my holiday in Croatia because the DVLA had lost my application form. As an HGV driver, having my licence back when I return home is extremely important to me, so the situation was incredibly stressful.

From the moment I dealt with Dave, he was incredibly empathetic, understanding and genuinely determined to help. He went out of his way to get everything sorted for me as quickly as possible, and his attitude and approach made what was a very stressful situation so much easier.

What really surprised and blew me away was that when I had to return for a second visit, Dave helped me all over again — and this time he did it completely free of charge, simply because the DVLA don’t accept digital documents. He absolutely did not have to go to that level of effort, and I sincerely hope he doesn’t get into trouble for doing so, because I felt it was important to let you know just how fantastic he is.

Dave was equally brilliant during my first visit. He is full of life, incredibly personable, approachable and genuinely helpful. You can tell that he cares about the people he is dealing with rather than simply treating them as another customer.

People are often quick to complain when something goes wrong, so I wanted to make sure I took the time to say how much I appreciated Dave’s help. He is a credit to your organisation and a fantastic asset to any team.

Please pass on my thanks to him — he was absolutely amazing.

Really helpful gentleman at Tescos Bentrim Road, Lisburn store. Very friendly he kindly put links in a watch for me. I had to go back down to get a link taken out it was no bother to him & again very friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Avoid this branch. Visited twice, both times disappointing.

First visit (28/07/2026): shop had a “back in a few minutes” sign offering 10% off if closed longer than 10 minutes. Waited 10 minutes, then a staff member walked past and looked at me but said nothing. He didn’t return for another 20 minutes. When he finally served me he spent 5 minutes examining the key, then said he couldn’t cut it for an hour and a half as he needed lunch first. He could have told me this when he walked past earlier instead of leaving me waiting. Had to leave as we had somewhere to be.

Second visit (01/09/2026): my wife took the key in. Staff said it would take an hour and a half with no guarantee it would work. They tried twice. Both copies failed. When she queried it she was told repeatedly, in a patronising tone, that she needed “the code.” The final copy looked nothing like the original key, shape and cuts were completely wrong.

We’ve had this same key copied successfully elsewhere before. Poor communication, long delays, and a copy that didn’t even resemble the original. Wouldn’t use this branch again.

Just visited Timpson’s in South Woodham today, had a watch battery replaced, prompt, friendly service very helpful. Highly recommend 😊

I visited the The Watch Lab (Timpsons) in Windsor for a full service for £250, to a Weil watch.The watch was duly returned a few weeks later in a tatty plastic bag with no explanation of what was done.To me it looks like they opened the watch replaced the mechanism and sent it back, all for this pricey sum.I have complained to Timpsons that it was an extortionist amount for what amounts to the replacement of a part and not a full service. Sadly, I could not rate this store and would take such a job to a local market stall for a fraction of the price.Avoid.

Was in desperate need the other day; had to get into one of the street bins near Petty Cury in Cambridge, so popped into Timpson to see if they could lend me a pair of pliers. No! They actually had the key for that particular bin! They lent it to me, and I managed to retrieve my friend's gold tooth that he'd managed to throw away in a takeaway food carton! All praise the kind gents at Cambridge Petty Cury Timpson.

Wildly over priced for key cutting, if it wasn't for the fact I urgently needed the keys I wouldn't have had them cut there. It's not as though they were unusual keys just basic door keys.

Went for a watch strap repair that’s been problematic for a few months Nathan sorted it straight away perfect service brilliant thanks. Will definitely recommend!!

I took my shoes to the Timpson Branch in Asda(Smithdown Road, Liverpool). After 2 weeks the shoes were not ready so I couldn't use them for the event that I needed them. They said that they needed another week, again they were not ready. I went to collect them the next time and they were ruined so I decided to make a complaint. The agreement with costumer services was to refund 60 pounds to buy new shoes. The owner of the branch refused to give me this money instead they said only £40 pounds.
After 5 journeys to the branch and several calls to custumer services. they refunded 60 pounds to my account.
I lost my lovely shoes which they needed only to change the soles and also lost my confidence in Timpsons.

My son had photos taken for a passport, I sent them in and they was rejected, went back to the store, had them redone, sent those in and again rejected. £12.99 for photos and 2 lots of signed for postage costing around £15 out of pocket.

branch outside Tesco's Shoreham by Sea. Asked about battery replacement for an old Tag Heuer explained wasn't bothered about pressurised or seal as had opened previously and battery changed and not bothered about waterproof. Quoted £65!!! Shocked to say the least. I said what to take the back off and put in a battery take all of 10 minutes tops? Answered "we charge the same as Tag Heuer". Seriously? I got news for you.....you are not Tag Heuer!!! Attitude was pretty offhand and blasé guess he is not self employed or maybe just lazy? Will just get done in Worthing in normal Jewellers for third that price. Thing was I had 2 other watches to get done which will also be done there. Great business model you got there Timpson's lol!

Update so went into Worthing and low and behold was another Timpson's next to Jewellers (Montague Street) I was going to. So popped in, same question as above but this time was quoted £89!!! So do individual's make up their own prices Timpson's?

Went into Jewellers and quoted £15 for what I wanted which was simple battery change and done in less than 10 minutes! Moral don't use Timpson's try a normal Jewellers!

I went to get 3 keys made, one security that was sent off, 2 that were done in the shop in Watford Sainsbury and one I had to take back 3 times as still did not work.
Then the next time I went to pick up the security key, William was there and I explained that my key still was not working. He made a new key and as that was also a problem, he said my original key looks little bent, so I gave him another set and that worked. I was so happy that he resolved this and the advise was so correct.
Its a local and I have had watches, etc done there , so lucky to be able to park and get things sorted.

Absolutely fantastic service from start to finish from Dale at the Glass Houghton branch. I phoned up asking if they did replacement screen for iphone 14 and he replied saying yes and he could get me one for the following day which he duly did and I contacted him when it arrived and he fitted the new screen in less than 40 mins at a very good price. This is how business should be done (I run a very successful business myself) and I would VERY HIGHLY recommend this company👍🏻👌

Dan in the Plymouth Sainsbury's store at Marsh Mills is fantastic. Helpful, thoughtful and unrushed attitude free service - interested in what you need and does everything he can to help. I cannot thank him enough. Would highly recommend. Great service. Awesome. Thanks

Great service received from the staff at Timpsons (inside Sainsburys North Cheam) when I recently hired a Rugdoctor machine.

They have waisted my time with saying they could replace my car key then told me no. DO NOT USE THEM for replacement car keys. Be warned.

UPDATE AS REQUESTED BY TIMPSON
The simple issue is you do not tell the truth.
1. I visited your Winchester store to enquire about out getting a new car key (its an electronic key)
2. I was told yes it can be done but not by that store. No issue and pointed me to the Andover store.
3. I phoned the Andover store and was told that they do not have the equipment for that type of key and told me to contact the Fareham store located at an Asda.
4. I phoned that store and discussed the car (all info on the type of car and key) they told me that they can do the work and to turn up after 9am the following day.
5. I took the morning off work and travelled 40 mins to the store @0900 the following day to be informed that they will not work on that car “we will not touch it” were the exact words. When I asked why it is advertised on line AND had been told by three stores (including the actual store I was standing in) that it could be done there was no accurate reason apart from its a hard job.

Your communication and advertising is an absolute joke. I wasted my time and took a half day of leave expecting that it could be done. I did NOT turn up cold I had talked to your shops (including using your online tool) I was given inaccurate info even from the actual branch that subsequently said they would “not touch” it .

I hope that taking my time to tell you this awful experience will not also be a waste of my time and you instruct your employees properly and update your online system to inform others not to waste time.

Every time I get really good service from these shops. I have an old watch that I got a strap for that failed, and they repeatedly helped, replaced or did what was needed. Can’t recommend enough. The staff that have been around a while are so helpful and nice to deal with.

Tony at your Hounslow branch was so approachable and polite. He was very professional and authorised my refund after I spoke to customer services that a different guy from the same branch said no for refund which I was actually entitled to. I had my receipt and everything. Thanks Tony & thanks customer services but zero thankful to the other guy whose name I did not catch.

Kieran at Priory road, Kenilworth was very polite, did the very small job whilst I waited briefly. Perfect!
