This client has really turned into a resource hog and is full of adware. The advertisements run continually, even in the background and the latest version as of 9/12/21 frequently crashes. Its turned into total garbage. It was very easy to change to qBittorrent - all I did was uninstall uTorrent and install qBittorrent and and I didn't lose a thing. I should have done this a long time ago,

This program is good but be aware, it has his sneaky ways to install unwanted software without your knowledge (not talking about the optional software which appear during setup).
In a recent installation just caught program running on my system which was installed by µTorrent (Adaware webcompanion).
µTorrent developers have no right to put a software on user's PC without agreement.

I'd give utorrent 5 stars but I can't believe they've been around this long and still don't have a dark mode option. I have some light sensitivity so most of my programs as well as my apartment stays dark/dim. But when opening this product it's like someone is shining a flash light right in my eyes. Other than that no issues. But would it really kill them to enable a dark mode option???

slow slow slow, as soon as switched to Qbittorrent I was seeing dl seeds of up to 6MiB/s. Utorrent would barely crack 1 and if the computer was a left unattended I would come back to find it had just stopped downloading. I would have to bring the app to the front to get it going again. I tried but wasn't able to force it to stay active with its preferences or the OS preferences. I do feel it was better before it became a web app but regardless it never came close to these speeds.

Most of the people do not understand what is Utorrent. They think it generates viruses or malware. But the thing is Utorrent only a downloading tool that helps to download all available documents online. The viruses or malware are not installed by this tool. You downloaded all those things by using these tools from another protocol. You should blame those people who uploaded that malware online that you have downloaded using Utorrent. They got some ads on the tool that also can be the reason for the virus but they can not control advertisement. An Ad publisher never knows when which advertisement will show up. If you think that they should stop those flashing ads then why they will give you free downloading software tools. I think you should make your own downloading system so that you can stop blaming the wrong person. I am using Utorrent for about 12 years but never faced a single problem that happened with this tool. The only possible damage can happen if you keep seeding downloaded files then day by day your hard disk can be slower and after a certain time, it can stop working. That's it nothing else.

I've tried to download an app and got a trojan virus which completely destroyed my OS. I do not recommend you using this website.

I have been using UTorrent for over 15 years now.
I had a working vanilla version, due circumstances I had to get a new version; not only are they trying to shove some annoying programs, it keeps flashing popups.
A shame really. it used to be good.

Utorrent is a scam downloaded it one time and after 5 minutes there were more then 2 "antivirus applications" on my pc i deleted both of them and MORE CAME! I dont reccomend

It would be a decent torrent client if it only had the dark mode.

uTorrent used to be a good program. It sucks s.hitit now. It's clunky, a resource hog and the interface is garbage. It went from being one of the best programs to being one of the worst. Too many tweeks or something, I used it for years, but would not go near this garbage now!

This downloader refresh it ads 2 times/sec while the file download only 100 kbps. This even worse than browser

I, along with many others, tried to install the cleanest version of utorrent. Unfortunately the cleanest version of utorrent has multiple background processes associated with the file utorrentie.exe. These background processes will continue once utorrent is closed and must be manually ended through task manager. Additionally, lavasoft software, which acts primarily as bloatware / adware, is forcefully installed alongside utorrent regardless of the options picked. Under this pretense I would highly recommend users treat utorrent as malware and factory reset their system.

Was thinking about switching to pro version, but will keep away from utorrent for now. Couple of years ago it was the best app in its class but now it really gone bad. I have it installed on 3 of my PC and utorrent behaving itself very unstable - it constantly keep freezing, very slow, i cannot leave it for downloading at night - its just crashing after couple of hours of downloading. And it's all happening even when i leave only 1 torrent for downloading\uploading. Very and very unstable for almost a year now...

I've used this software before, and it was acceptable, but now it's A BIG PIECE OF $HIT!!!!! I will tell you why, and maybe the developers of this software have ears. on MAC they switched from app to an web browser GUI, on Catalina, behind Linksys wrt1900AC and Pi-Hole, doesn't work! but FOLX works with no problem. maybe ,you guys from utorrent team, should ask the guys from FOLX how did they manage to make it run. thanks for nothing a$$h0les!

Used this years ago, downloaded again tonight from the utorrent site. Declined all the extras and installed the most bare-bones version I could. It immediately tried to add a bunch of browser add-ons upon launch and I got bombarded with spam. Removed and never using again. Garbage.

my wifi is 6mbps speed and nobody is using my wifi i only get 100 or 500 kbps new version sucks

Absolute garbage, it use to be so good some 5 years ago, don't use it.
There are open source small and no bloatware alternatives.

Great tool for downloading files, drawback is that it depends on the seeds & peers; if there aren't any, no dice.

it s bad!
this web bitrtorrent has a poor peers updates ,poor speed and it s literally freezes the entire operating system!
No options or configurations apart stop pause start etc.
the interface is opening x4 time in x4 browser tabs!
how bad it can be?
