I was told the car would come with a new MOT. it didnt. I was then told by Maz that he would cover the costs of the MOT and any work required for it to pass. The MOT showed the car Id just bought from Widowhill cars had a major defect. I tried multiple times to get my money back for the MOT/repair work (which cost over £300) as promised and wrote complaints. Im now taking Widowhill cars to a small claims Court as they have not responded to reasonable requests. I would not recommend this company to others based on my experience.

I looked at reviews took a chance. The good ones are obviously fake

From the minute I payed and promised delivery next day then over a week story after story to then being asked can I pay another £250 delivery because there trucks broke which I said no chance. But they eventually did deliver.
That’s were the fun starts I drove no more than 50 meters I know something was up. Bear in mind it’s just had a mot. After over a week of calling messaging no answer I today payed £100 for mobile mechanic to come and look and he found these faults within minutes

Siezed caliper passenger side front

Engine needs complete flush as oil has gone solid

Injectors blown

Turbo blown

Boost pipe snapped

And he stopped there and told me to scrap it. But bear in mind that’s just passed a mot with one advisory of slight misting on headlight.
I have started the legal process as these people just ignore you or come up with any excuse

This Company widow Hill Cars Burnley are crooks , i bought a car from them in good faith and after 3 weeks I had to put it into my local garage as it wasnt driving right , turns out the clutch is slipping and needs a complete clutch kit , it also needs a new Turbo as its whinning like hell , been quoted £1300 for fitted nee clutch and £1500 for a new fitted turbo , I managed to get a reply off there what's app and was told Jay who is there aftersale manger , ive been trying to contact him and the garage for 2 weeks now and not one reply at all , they are obviously blanking me now as I have rang 3 different numbers at least 4 times a day , I have emailed and I have used there what's app number and not one reply , this garage should be avoided at all costs they are quick enough to take your money but as soon as there is a problem they cut all ties , I wil be going to trading standards. The lowest mark is 1 star if I could make my own it would be minus -10

They state free delivery and then ONCE YOU'VE PAID, contact you saying their delivery truck isn't working and ask you to pay a delivery fee for another company.

The vehicles they deliver are not as advertised. They are not valeted. They are not roadworthy. They have engine failures.

They completely ghost you when you try to arrange refund and collection of vehicle.

I purchased a Hyundai Coupe from Widowhill Cars after it was advertised as follows:
“FREE 12 MONTHS MOT PRIOR TO PURCHASE + FREE 6 MONTHS WARRANTY INCLUDED + FREE 6 MONTHS BREAKDOWN COVER INCLUDED + HPI CLEAR + FULLY VALETED AND PREPPED + PART EXCHANGE WELCOME + NATIONWIDE DELIVERY AVAILABLE + SERVICE HISTORY AVAILABLE + FULL LOGBOOK. CAR IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION FOR ITS AGE AND MILEAGE WITH A FAULTLESS DRIVE! NO ISSUES AT ALL – NO LIGHTS ON DASH – NO KNOCKS OR BANGS – EXCELLENT CONDITION INSIDE AND OUT.”

After delivery, I found issues that contradicted the "faultless & exellent condition" advertised. A belt was squealing, and the squeal intensified at full lock; the power steering was heavy and lumpy while turning the wheel, one of the headlights was out on arrival (would be an m.o.t fail) and the key would not unlock the driver's door (keyhole).

The advert stated that service history was available, but no service history was provided. I also did not receive any form of invoice for the sale.

When I tried to make a warranty claim, I contacted the warranty provider (previously evolution warranties) and was informed that no warranty had been registered against the vehicle.

I contacted Widowhill Cars to raise these issues, which ultimately resulted in me rejecting the vehicle under my consumer rights. I requested collection of the rejected vehicle, but my messages were ignored.

I subsequently pursued the matter through the Small Claims Court, where judgment was entered in my favour. I am now having to proceed through the enforcement stage due to the lack of response/action from the dealer.

This was a very disappointing experience and seems to be a recurring issue so caution is advised.

Sold me a car that didn’t even have airbags fitted Nevermind all the other issues with it that they never mentioned. BRIBED me to take my google review down by telling me that the only way I could have my money back was to do that.
The MOTs are done by some dodgy person onsite who also doesn’t do the MOTs correctly as the car would have failed at every point.

Widow Hill Cars Ltd, sold me a car that is not road worthy; they let me drive 81 miles home knowing that the breaks were knackered and the steering system too; not only did they put my life at risk but also the lives of others out on the road.

This company must be immediately investigated by the LAW.

False advertising! Hiding documents! Not answering the phone, not responding to WhatsApp messages, not answering emails. Fake Warranties (Fraud is it not)?

I called Clearcover Warranties which Widow Hill Cars Ltd gave me; to cut a long story short, the vehicle doesn't seem to be on their system (Surprised not).

Avoid like the plague!!!

Decent motor but avoid part-ex as they try to get it for half the price of Webuyanycar.com.

Extremely disappointing experience – I would not recommend this company.

We drove 4½ hours to collect a car based on the promises advertised on the company’s website. The advert stated that the vehicle would come with:

* Fully valeted and prepared
* FREE 12-month MOT prior to purchase
* FREE 6-month warranty
* FREE 6-month breakdown cover
* HPI clear
* £50 of fuel

Unfortunately, this was not the case at all.

When we arrived, the car was dirty inside and out. There was hair and a lip gloss left inside, and when we opened the bonnet there was a glove and a blue tissue stuffed down the side. It was obvious that the vehicle had not been fully valeted or properly prepared as advertised.

Even more concerning, the car did not have a new 12-month MOT. It had just one day remaining on its existing MOT, despite the advert clearly stating that a fresh 12-month MOT would be provided before purchase.

When I questioned this, the salesperson offered £100 off, saying it was because the car had not been cleaned. We also did not receive the advertised £50 worth of fuel. Instead of honouring what had been advertised, we were expected to accept less.

After driving the car back to London, we immediately paid ourselves to have it serviced and MOT’d. During this process, further issues became apparent, including rust on one of the wheels. When this was mentioned before purchase, the salesperson simply said he “didn’t know anything about that and that is why it is priced at that amount” and that he was “just here to sell the car.” That response was not reassuring or helpful.

Shortly afterwards, the car began misfiring, making it unsafe to drive. Bear in mind the car drove fine in the test drive and the drive back home to London. We then tried to use the advertised 6-month warranty, only to discover that my email address provided by the dealership to the warranty company had been spelt incorrectly, making it difficult to contact them through the details supplied.

I then contacted the dealership via WhatsApp, where we had previously communicated, to explain that the warranty contact details were incorrect and that the car had developed a fault. My messages were read but completely ignored, and I received no response whatsoever till this date which is now nearly a month later!!

Overall, I feel the vehicle was misrepresented, several advertised promises were not honoured, and the after-sales service has been non-existent. We travelled a long distance in good faith, relying on the information provided, only to be left extremely disappointed and out of pocket.

Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to think very carefully before purchasing a vehicle from this company. I can see that I’m not the only one with a bad experience of this company. It’s not worth it the customer service is appalling.

Avoid at all costs this garage is a scam I bought a car from these 5 days after purchase the warranty company apparently went bust they refused to repair my car which by law and according to a solicitor they were liable for the 6 months get told after sales will phone I'm still waiting despite calling them once you issue a notice to them they block your number and the MOT is dodgy as well there a serious faults on the car and they put them as advisories I paid £2000 for the car then I had to spend another £1500 on getting it road worthy despite a brand new MOT 3 days before and then to top it off I've had to pay for a warranty on my car despite them charging you for this in with the price of the car so it's not free just avoid this place at all costs

Very good experience from this dealership car was 10 out of 10 for the age I got a vw golf 2010 thanks guys I would recommend you to anyone in the market for a used car

Purchased a car from Widow Hill Cars, received exceptional service from Maz.
Car is in great condition and would highly recommend.

The car was mechanically sound but after 1 week I discovered it has a massive sunroof leak. Guys happy to take the car back as I didn’t want to risk a repair and it happening again, under the 30 days right to return. Said refund would be processed in 1 week. Took two weeks for half of funds to arrive. Then was told they had family illness and it was taking time to sort the refund. Eventually I sent the start of a small claims letter, and arranged for a third party to chase the money. It did eventually arrive after nearly 6 weeks. The lads didn’t block my calls, or be nothing but charming but it was a worrisome time thinking id potentially lost £1000’s. If you buy a car without any mechanical issues you’d prob not have any issues but if you need to return you may potentially not get your funds back.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

we had a car delivered and within 4 hours was being towed back to the house after breaking down not starting up again after less than 30 miles of driving.
Garage owner picked up call and told us to "get any repairs done and I'll pay it back and we can sort it Monday '(it was Friday)
We didn't do repairs as we decided to reject the car as our legal right, he's blocked us and has never answered any other calls or responded to letters sent. Been the quickest way to loose £1000's. Been left out of pocket and sharing one car between shift worker and my self employed husband, he's missed quite a few hours of work because of it all why we desperately try to sort this/get another car. Irony if it is if he'd sorted as he said we'd have been happy and daughter was after another car from him for herself so lost a sale lol.

Please. Please review the company they also pop up on Facebook and you can see many of us have had very similar issues.

bmw 318 was not as described, it was unsafe and a waste of my time. AVOID.

Vile scammers! Not road worthy cars and they fiddle the cars so warning lights don’t show. This is dangerous and can cause serious accidents. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THEM!
