I am new to Zenforo and was assisted by Paul. He was fast, to the point, articulate and helpful. I could not ask for more.

We have been using Xenforo for at least 8 years now and the team of developers are great and always respond to any concerns I have - which are very few. There are so many Add-ons available for this product.
We elected to have the 'no branding' feature and have been satisfied since.

Been using XF for 3 years now - its reasonably priced compared to competitors and always been rock solid stable. Developers are friendly and offer great support (though I've personally never run into trouble with the software itself, and the support I've received was for learning how to develop my own add-ons and customizations)

Overall I find it to be both intuitive & powerful software. My forum started on SMF, a free forum alternative, and my staff were hesitant to switch to XF since they were used to SMF, but as soon as they started using it they fell as in love with XF as I did.

At the time of writing, XF is on version 2.2.13, and the only complaints I've ever really had are a lack of WebP support and some CSS inefficiencies (mostly related to fontawesome), though both will be addressed in version 2.3 which sounds to be right around the corner.

FWIW, webp CAN be used on 2.2.x by linking directly in the templates, just not by using the convenient asset uploaders, so the lack of official support has only been a half-issue for me.

Overall its fantastic software by a great company and I'd be delighted to recommend it to others. Should I ever launch any other projects in the future I'll be going XF without hesitation.

I have buyed 3 Xenforo licences and all in use. The first since Xenforo 1.0. Yes, the development of new features can be faster, xen gallery and xen RM are not realy up to date (use with smartphone) but with a little bit work its OK.
The forum software it self runs fast, and very stable. It give many free or low price add-ons and also many payed add-ons from little nice to have up to big ones.
Staff Team will in absolut most cases be fair.
I come from phpBB2plus (I hav forums since 2002) over SMF and vBulletin to Xenforo and its for me at the moment the best solution for my needs.

Now we look forward to Xenforo 2.3 release next months and see at the horizion first infos to Xenforo 3.0.

Change from MYBB to this, and had a few teething problems. The support has been great and I am now doing the final touch ups to the community pages before i let the members in. They are going to love it!!!!

Xenforo never made an attempt to contact me to follow up on a report that I shared a resource that they don't even sell. I lost all my licenses and all the money I paid for them.

Xenforo's staff has always been responsive and helpful.

I have been running this software for a few years. Overall it does the job well. How ever the development of the software has not been fast enough and new requested features not added. For that sake I think the community is not blooming as it could be. Faster development on Xenforo and It's official addons would be great. I recommend the software but you need to know this.

No future for XenForo. Development has been at a standstill for the past three to four years. The developers are blowing smoke and laughing at their customers who have supported them over the past 10 years.

DO NOT waste your money. Look elsewhere...

Generally when you go to buy forum software you like to see what sort of support there is when you need it.
You don't go there to get things removed by admins who think it's ok to over moderate your account. Soon i won't be able to post there because the admins think it's funny to bully their customers. C'mon guys grow a set of balls and worry about your own job instead of being such bullies.

For the last 4 years I have been an active member of the XenForo community and one of the few developers who release major add-ons for this platform. During this time, I have encountered many times the speech freedom restriction on their community forum and, to put it mildly, strange decisions on the administration part. Yesterday I again encountered this behavior of the administration. In response to the post asking what we got while other platforms are releasing something, I sent a joke about what we got a 100 character limit on reviews. It has been deleted, 3 times, in the Off-topic section, then I was banned in this section. My post does not violate the rules, I did not receive any verbal warnings or comments on these actions.

Over the past years, I have encountered:
> Deleting positive reviews without notice or reason​
One of the most absurd cases that I encountered in this regard was when people who did not buy my products posted negative reviews, after which all reviews on my resource were deleted altogether. I turned to the Brogan and some reviews were restored. And then they were deleted again silently! Cause? "I don't know which reviews were valid and invalid" © Brogan. As usual, I was ignored.

At any time, you can fall into disfavor with the administration and your posts will be deleted quietly and without notification. If you pay attention to this, you will get a ban. The reddest flag you can see is unpredictable behavior.

> No updates or roadmap​
The last update improving functionality was released 3 years(!) ago! During this time, the community has not even received a roadmap, and dissatisfaction with this situation, as always, is simply ignored by the developers. As a developer, I understand that it is possible to develop XenForo from scratch in such a time period and XF developers are simply not interested in developing their product.

They implement less than 10 small suggestions per year (only 2 this year), with dozens of popular suggestions that have been around for over 5 years.
Any feedback and criticism are taken in a negative way.

Kind of upset at this and want them to stop. If they don't i will report them to namecheap for being discriminatory.

Relying on ticket support about importing an SMF 2.1 site into the current Xenforo release...I was told that there should be no issue... even though it's a 2.0 importer...

Now, when it was ran, it had errors, the same that were related in their support forum around a year ago.

I ended up modifying the SMF importer code to work with 2.1...
I did get a response, with an updated SMF importer file, but since I had already fixed it myself, I was unable to test that new importer.

Now, when it comes to other ticket support... it's been rather lacking. Template related... sorry, that's apparently a "style" issue, never mind the fact that the template is utilizing code provided by them directly.
Their clarity of what their ticket support areas consist of are rather lacking in documentation and seem to be left up to the whim of whomever is handling the ticket.
Their level of support is, IMHO, not where it was several years ago, and I've been a license holder for well over a decade.

We won't even get into the molasses speed of updates, and their being more concerned with making it easier on developers and not providing much for their license holders to offer their end users. Nor will we discuss their strong reliance on 3rd party developers to provide what many other paid scripts provide natively.
And Heaven forbid if we get into where promises were made about speedy updates and communications and then radio silence was the word of the day.
