This company is just cheap. They want me to send them pictures of my photo ID (driver's license) through email. Respectable companies use third party products/apps that verify these without email in a secure way. Just pay the money and keep your users secure. Here is what they sent me when I complained about their unsafe practice:

This is not how you "advocate" for clients.

I have been looking for a rental for a while now. Just recently started looking at Zumper. The emails they send saying that they have properties for me to view that fit what I am looking for show lower prices than what they are actually renting for. Example: ABC house in their advertisement says $1,350 per month so I click on the View tab to see the photos and when I get to the end of the photos it will say $1,875, which is above my budget. It is an absolute waste of time to do this to people. I tried finding somewhere to complain, but could not so I found myself here. It is too stressful and time consuming looking for a place to rent to be ran around like this. They need to fix it but they have lost me as a possible renter.

My family & I have been looking for a home to rent in Las Vegas nevada for a couple months rent has gone up I've received many houses from zumper some way out of my price range & the ones that we can afford are not legit heres one of them 3215 w Logan ave 89032 for $1300 it's apparently off the market & there's many others why do people want to scam others it's sad maybe zumper should make sure these properties are 100% legit before posting them

Lots of spam. Doesn't sync with webpage and app. Didn't distinguish between a room for rent and a unit for rent. Would not recommend

I like how Zumpers portal is set up. I was looking for vacation rentals. Did not have an issue with filtering or finding places to pretty much anywhere in the country. When I narrow down my choice, I will be looking at Zumper.

I signed up with Zumper as a property manager to explore the platform versus the software I am currently using. I realized pretty quickly it was not a good fit for me and never actually implemented switching to Zumper. For the last 6 months I have been getting random charges monthly withdrawn out of my business bank account by Zumpers merchant processor. The fees are increasing every month. They started at $15 and have now escalated to $163.95 for the month of August. To repeat, I have am not using Zumper and never actually implemented using it. Zumper customer support responds on a 2-3 week delay with boiler plate responses. They have acknowledged my issue and that I am not alone in experiencing this however it hasn't stopped and no resolution from them has occurred. They provided a google form for a refund which I completed but it says they can only pay it if I sign up for their new merchant processor...Yikes! I even deleted my Zumper account months ago (trying to stop the issue) and still was being charged. Each reply takes 2-3 weeks meanwhile I keep getting charged. Not even sure what recourse I can take at this point. It's really bad. I never write negative reviews or complain about companies but this is fraudulent activity.

As a landlord, they offer a free service of collecting rent.Great Idea. Filled with glitches and bugs. Customer service stinks. they usually just ignore you. Problems happen. This company doesnt seem to care to fix their problems. Sad.

I’ve got my house on the market for sale through a real estate agent. A friend called and let me know she saw it for rent on Zumper! So Zumper copied the listing and has it advertised for rent?! How can they do that and still remain in business? Now I’m going to have to go through the hassle to contact the Ga Real Estate Commission and FTC to file complaints. I would never give them a star except I have to so I can let others know not do business with this group of scammers.

When I first discovered Zumper, I was really impressed. it looks smart and the concept of doing everything in the same place is brilliant. I found several apartments that I liked so I messaged them. Then I found an apartment that I wanted badly enough I was willing to rent it without stepping foot inside of it...well, almost. 😊 I at least wanted to get signed up and ready to go. I messaged the contact and made a tentative schedule to view the apartment. I then filled out the application and signed the concent for a background and credit check. Lastly I paid the application fee of $30. I knew it was not a foregone conclusion that I would get the apartment and I also was under the impression that this same application would be used on any other apartment that I was interested in. A little background on me...I am a disabled veteran living in a second floor apartment. I can barely get around the apartment and the stairs are a nightmare. Then I have just the one income. It pays the bills but it does not give me a lot of money to throw away. I also have cats which costs additional fees and additional rent. In other words, I'm on a pretty tight budget. I completed the app, paid the fee, and waited. And waited. Nothing. My lease in my current apartment was running out and I decided to go ahead and view other places. In the meantime, the apartment I wanted was suddenly off the market. No one ever had the courtesy to respond to me. I find another apartment and decide I like it enough to apply but guess what. I was referred to the management company website and I was forced to pay an additional fee $30. That one didn't pan out and out of desperation I applied for yet another that charged me AGAIN. I ran out of time. I am so upset that I threw away $95 and have nothing to show for it. That would buy a weeks worth of groceries. I'm just beyond upset. I had to go ahead and sign up for another year at my current apartment. I will have to scoot down the stairs on my backside so that I don't fall or just stay home 24/7. I emailed Zumper support. Other than the canned email telling me that someone would respond shortly, I have received no response at all. I would never recommend Zumper especially to my friends, family, and fellow veterans.

I would give negative star if it is possible. I listed my rental property on Zumper and paid for the one month boost fee. The listing was not approved after 72 hours even though they claimed activation to be with 24 hours. The customer service email was also very unresponsive. With my complaint, I only heard back once requesting further documents that is a hassle to a landlord (and no other sites have ever asked for that). I understand that there may be scammers posting on Zumper that they need to be more vigilant but verification should be done with cross-checking of various sites and that is a technology part that such a site should do if they want to compete for business. The lack of response and especially ticking clock of the boost package without even activating the listing seems like a scam itself to me. I will never use their service!

Zumper is a SCAM

I am a real estate broker in WI and have been fielding phone calls all day and night from CA, UT, CT, PA, NY, OH regarding homes for rent. Apparently, there are properties with my contact information. I was able to get a screen shot from one of the callers and it is my name as well as my business name and and encrypted phone number that calls by business number directly. Zumper website doesn't have a phone number to call! I searched and found it (415) 262-4213 if you want to leave a VM. Also if you are having issues, you can email them. I'm assuming they will not respond to me as all the reviews on their facebook page indicate they are a SCAM and don't research any of their advertisers.
