I really enjoy the podcast and the seasonal element of the perfumes.

It is a beautiful ritual to get these high quality products 4 times a year. They are packaged beautifully and carefully with an additional gift of tea or something little. They also come with a seasonal print, which can be displayed or used for paper craft/scrapbooking.

I'm knocking a small amount off down to personal preference - I've been on the ledger for a few years now and have built up a bit of a collection. There is definitely a core "ffern scent" and while there may be nuances, sometimes I feel a bit let down that they all smell quite similar.

Caveat: I'm not a connoisseur at all and perhaps it's just because they all have the same base/similar ingredients. I recognise it also may be my skin that's making them more similar. My point here is that if you tried one and loved it, chances are a subscription would be worth it for you!

I also really appreciate that you can pause the subscription at any point and that they are transparent about price increases. Critically, they also allow you to use the sample provided to see if the scent is suitable before you open the full bottle. This is incredible!

We do have a house style here at Ffern, with certain favourite ingredients like vetiver and bergamot - but while our fragrances share similar handwriting, we vary the blends significantly from season to season, and most of our members (and our team!) find that each new season has a distinct scent. That’s one of the things we adore about natural ingredients - they can unfold so differently on each person!

It’s also lovely to hear that you appreciate the option to skip a season, and that the sample helps you decide whether the fragrance is your cup of tea before opening the full bottle.

Great company and products

I have purchased through another retailer (Holland and Barrett) and then subsequently through UpCircle's own website. Both were pleasant experiences although moving forward I'll buy through their website exclusively - there are rewards and samples offered. Also, it's easier to see everything about the company and products on their website.

I initially got the daily face cream and was so impressed I wanted to try their other products. So far, so good!

The eye cream is great! I am also enjoying the wax cleanser for makeup removal. I have yet to try the facial scrub or body lotion that I got, but if it's anything like the rest it will be good quality and effective. Great that they are eco and they have refill schemes - I will be using that. I also really appreciate that they have travel size options - that is why I could try so many new things.

It's a little more pricey, but I don't mind paying it when the product is so good and everything I've used requires a small amount so I imagine the full sized pots last quite a while.

Also, everything smells very nice, but natural - the day and night creams both have completely different but lovely scents! Big fan, really glad I discovered them :)

Good company

Good company, good products.

I purchased three coats in the sale and had to return one because it just didn't suit me. This was a smooth and faultless process.

The other coats are beautiful though I think one needs re-waterproofing already. This may be because of the exceptionally wet year we've had so far, but worth mentioning that the waterproof effect is not long lasting.

To be honest this would not be something we hear of, so does suggest the issue may be the extent of the rain encountered or it could be caused by being washed repeatedly. This can result in reproofing being required.

Excellent stuff

Excellent stuff. I've shopped with these guys twice, to have large A0 sheets printed (historical sewing patterns). They are always quick with the turnaround and postage, safely and considerately packed and the online process is easy to submit. They often have discounts or special deals, which is also helpful.

Overall, I've found my go-to large form printer for all patterns. I wouldn't go anywhere else now!

Little more than a scam.

They sent a very sly notification in December 2025 to inform that their prices would be going up. As if they wanted that one email to go under the radar...

Since then I had no notification that they were about to take my money or renew my subscription. Unlike every other subscription service I've ever used, they don't send any cordial reminders that you're about to renew and have money taken out of your account. I can't believe that this is legal.

Of course, they then have a clause that in some exceptional circumstances they give refunds if within a 72 hour grace period. Which, of course, is entirely useless if you have had no reminder whatsoever that they're about to take the money or that your subscription is set to renew.

This is what happened to me. They took £78 out of my account without notification that my subscription was due to renew, so I had no idea until I checked with PayPal to see what that payment was for.

I know that we should all take some responsibility, but with how many subscriptions most people have it's easy to lose track. Which is where reminder emails are so helpful.

I've reached out to their "customer service". Who have bounced me around, called me the wrong name, fobbed me off repeatedly with the 72 hour notification period. I asked them if they had the grace to give me a 72 hour notification period to consent to the higher charges and continued subscription and they didn't have anything to say.

Avoid signing up. They clearly want your details so that they can sneakily take money without you realising.

A 72 hour period to take it up with them is ridiculous. Why not a calendar month? Because they want to steal your money, and they don't care.

All this for a very basic service. Absolutely ridiculous. Avoid, avoid. Pay for your own website from a professional, don't fall for this blatant scam.

I won't be having anything to do with them again and will advise everywhere else to avoid.

-Update 22/03-

If you paid through Paypal and have been going through this issue with Linktree, I'd highly recommend opening a case with Paypal. They were able to review in my favour and refund me the subscription amount. At least some people have principles, Linktree doesn't!

Great sewing and craft site & club with small drawbacks

Really good port of call for all things sewing and crafty.
Given 4 stars instead of 5 because sometimes it isn't the cheapest option and I find it hard to navigate the search/results.
If you're looking for one specific thing, often it doesn't come up at the top of the search. Also, if you want to browse you end up spending ages trawling through an endlessly refreshing search. I think it would be better to keep it simple, then you could clearly see what was in each category. Sometimes it's really hard to find things!
The club is good value and it's fun being part of the social side of the sewing world 🙂 lots of cool makers and as far as I know/believe they get good perks for being successful on that side!
Also, the videos of the products are brilliant and really give Minerva the edge! It's just the website that's hard to work with sometimes.

SCAM. Avoid like the plague!!!

SCAM. Avoid like the plague.
I've been using the account for LifePoints only a couple of months, and everything was going well my end. It would have been a positive review, despite the obvious theft of data when they make you fill in loads on information to be told you're "not suitable" (therefore they get the info for free and don't have to pay you).
Sadly a few days ago they cancelled my account and despite polite emails from me have refused to give me any evidence or reasoning.
I've never done anything wrong, have always answered truthfully and have logged in almost every day.
Be aware that if you use this service they will use any excuse to scam you, avoid giving you money and possibly terminate your account for no reason.
In any other circumstance this would be theft. I've worked hours for these guys and received no recompense. Shameful company with zero customer service.

Expensive but worth it.

The only downside I can think of is the price, it is a bit expensive for what you get. Having said that, they last me a long time and have never brought me out in a rash like almost every other vegan/ethical deodorant. And they smell nice, not overpowering or strong, just nice. I get the sensitive range and the sea salt one is my favourite, though the cotton comes in a close second. I can see this being my forever deodorant so please don't bump up the price!
