Excellent service from Alugutter

Alugutter have been excellent to partner with on our extensive coping requirements. Great communicators and consistency of service pre and post ordering. They provided detailed advice to help refine our approach prior to order and went above and beyond to make sure we were entirely satisfied with all materials supplied. They provided proactive updates in terms of order status and delivery timings. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Bespoke, aluminium, dark green, gutters and downpipes :)

This time round, I am building an arts and crafts style passive house in the centre of Beaconsfield. I'm aiming very high. After some time researching I selected Alugutter to supply the gutter and downpipe system in a bespoke dark green RAL colour to match the rear elevation windows and doors. It looks fantastic on both the rear elevation and also with the oak windows/soffit/fascia front elevation. I have a few bits of the build to finish up - the garage wing and the porch and then I will return here to add photos. I would also like to put in writing here how Brian at Alugutter went a long way above and beyond his usual excellent customer service, when I presented him with a difficult problem, for which he bespoke made for me the solution himself that very afternoon. Alugutter are precisely what I look for in a supplier - medium size, flawless product, very fair pricing and people you want to interact with. Definite full marks (and more) from me.

Utterly useless in so many ways.

The Alugutter system itself is not at all well designed. (For example, the gutter outlet OD is neither the same diameter as the downpipe OD nor a clearance fit with the downpipe ID! How'd they come up with that?!)

The paint was true to RAL but not baked on well and will very easily scratch.

The fascia and soffit boards I ordered had holes in that were NOT in the photos or the description or the engineering drawings!

Thank you for your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that you’re disappointed with aspects of your experience, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify a few important points.

Our outlet connections are designed to work specifically with swanneck downpipe bends. This is standard practice across the aluminium guttering industry, as it ensures optimal compatibility and performance. Modifying or reducing the outlet size further would unfortunately compromise the gutter’s maximum flow capacity. The outlet diameter is shown within our drawings but we will look to add additional notes to our website to try and make this clearer.

Regarding the paint finish, we’re glad to hear the RAL colour met your expectations. The finish applied is a high-quality architectural-grade polyester powder coating (Interpon D1036 X-Pro). As with all painted finishes, it can be scratched if mishandled, particularly before installation, and we always recommend taking care during handling and fitting to avoid this.

The small discreetly positioned holes in the top fascia and soffit boards are necessary for the powder-coating process. These are hanging holes used to suspend the panels during the 200°C baking stage. This method is industry standard for coating large panels, as it avoids blemishes or damage that clips or contact supports might cause. However, these holes should not be visible after installation (used as fixing holes, hidden by drip edge and within fascia returns).

We always welcome questions, both before and after purchase, and are more than happy to provide guidance to ensure the right product is selected for each project. If there’s ever any uncertainty, we encourage customers to contact manufacturers or suppliers directly — most are more than willing to help clarify specifications or offer advice to avoid misunderstandings.
