One person did it all.

Exactly as publicised. Installed on time, the lift is very quiet and works beatifully. Furthermore, one person did all the installation. We live in downtown, where parking is scarce and a hassle. In this case there weren't any complains, the installer downloaded the materials and his tools, went to find some parking space, and did the work. Peace of mind.

Finally install

The measurement was inaccurate twice in 2 differents occasion. And every time we had to wait 2 month to get the product. Another word we waist 5 month to finally get our stair lift install.
Stannah cop did not make right for us for the inconvenience and delay.

Outstanding Company

The installers did a great job

The installers did a great job. They answered all questions. They were pleasant. We had a couple of minor glitches and came back a couple of days later. Hard to find things that don't happen all the time. They took off every cover and checked all of the connections and replaced a switch. No problems since.

Very satisfied.

Arrow's representative came to our home on time. He examined the stairs, throughly explained the installation procedure, and cost. We had familiarized ourselves with the quality of the Stannah chair lift before we contacted them. The installer was competent and a delight to have in our home. We have used the stair lift for a few weeks and we are very satisfied.

I Wish I Never Bought This

I Wish I Never Bought This

I have been living with my Stannah Model 600 stairlift for just shy of six years now. I originally had it installed for the benefit of my ninety year old Mothers visits. The first thing I learned is that it takes up a lot to of room on my staircase. So much so, that I found it difficult to navigate around while going up and down the stairs. Especially when carrying something. I am not young, myself, and I have arthritis and other orthopedic issues. Months later, I reached the point that it was easier for me to ride the thing rather than deal with its obstruction of my stairway.

I bought from Arrow Lift in Cleveland, Ohio. The sales consultant came to my home for the site survey and we concluded the deal. The installation did not go well. The installer used too short a rail. Rather than take the chair to the top of the stairs, you had to walk down one stair to get on or off of it. I wrestled with this for a couple of weeks and after my Mother complained about being afraid of it, I contacted the Arrow Lift sales consultant and explained the issue. He said he knew right what the problem was and sent another installer to retrofit the rail to the right length. This solved what I considered to be an unsafe installation.

Soon after the lift developed an intermittent problem of stopping and starting on the way up. I had purchased the service plan and brought it to the attention of the service tech at my one year maintenance visit. He fiddled with it a bit and showed me that it was working. Sometime after he left the chair started doing the same thing.

When it came time for the second year maintenance call, I brought this issue to the attention of the person that called me to schedule the visit. The tech arrived and we had a repeat of of the previous year. The tech left with me thinking that he had fixed it, but soon, the lift returned to its old ways. Disgusted, I put up with it for a few months and then contacted Arrow Lift service when I had experienced preliminary battery failure. During that call, I informed him the original problem had never been solved. He sent another tech but informed me that I had only a 30 day warranty on the service call. In the the end it cost me $ 560.89 for them to fix the problem that they had failed to diagnose until after the failed part’s warranty expired.

This is not my first exposure to a chairlift. Forty years ago my Grandmother had one installed in her home. Compared to my Stannah, it was very simple. In the thirty years it was in service it never required much service. It was hardwired into the house electrical system. No batteries, plus hardwired summon buttons that don’t drop connection, constantly, like the Stannah battery powered remotes do.

The moral of the story is that when you make a $4500 purchase from Arrow Lift/ Stannah you are marrying a company with, IMHO… Less than stellar installation and maintenance performance, that Arrow Lift has a monopoly on. The battery system alone, requires “professional” installation. This is by design. Stannah could have just as easily designed this battery system to be easily DIY, and provided instructions, but they chose to tether their customers to ongoing expenses.

My advice to anyone who needs a stairlift is to find one that is entirely hardwired, unless you like paying an additional minimum of $300 for annual maintenance plus the cost of the batteries that Arrow Lift charges you a HUGE mark-up on.

I would consider dumping this thing in the trash if I could find a “dumb” chairlift like my Grandmother’s and provide my own battery back-up, of which I already own several. Actually, I would really like to put in an elevator. Arrow Lift sells them. I would NEVER trust them for another chair lift, let alone an elevator.

That’s never the kind of relationship we hope to have with our clients, and it’s clear from your message that there were a number of frustrations along the way.

We're especially sorry to hear that the original rail setup made the lift feel unsafe, and from our records it does look like we came back and installed that longer rail for you at no charge.

Regarding the stop/start issue, which required one repair in 2020 and two repairs in 2022, it is not common for our clients to experience repeat issues like this, and we understand how frustrating that must have been to feel like your concerns weren’t fully addressed the first time around. Please know that your feedback has been shared with our team so we can look closely at how we can improve.

We would like to note that all modern day stair lifts do have heavy-duty batteries which are constantly recharged, rather than being hardwired into the home's electrical system, in order to avoid individuals being stranded during a power outage. While most of our clients find our service and repair pricing to be reasonable, we do take your feedback seriously and again we appreciate the time you took to provide it.

Service and salesman

The salesman (Todd) was great and not pushing. He explained the chair lift unit very well. The only thing better would be if the company would install one in the back of his van that was on slides to pull it to the back of his van and he could let the rail down. Then he could actually show one. I drove 120 miles so I could see one in action. The installer did a fine job also.
