Customer service
My experience with Barstools.co.uk was mixed from start to finish.
Initially, I ordered the Rocco stools in cream and payment was taken immediately, including upgraded delivery costs. After chasing tracking information myself, I was then informed that the stools were actually out of stock and I would need to choose an alternative colour, which was disappointing and frustrating from the outset.
Unfortunately, when the replacement stools arrived, one was faulty and could not be assembled correctly as the silver footrest component supplied was too large for the fitting gap. At this stage I was extremely unhappy with both the quality control and overall experience.
However, following my complaint, I received a phone call from the customer service team and I do want to acknowledge that the matter was handled much more positively from that point onwards. The conversation was professional, understanding and constructive, and we were able to come to a fair resolution regarding the return and refund process.
While the initial experience and product issues were disappointing, I appreciate the effort made by customer service to resolve the matter properly in the end.
Unreliable & misleading.
After deliberating & measuring to make sure I had ordered the correct bar stools for our space, I placed my order. The payment was taken immediately. I checked the status the next day, only to find there was no delivery info. When I called the store I was told my order was “out of stock” & I had the option to choose something else, or wait until stock arrived. I asked for a refund & email to confirm this would happen.
When I pressed for an indication of when the refund would reach my account, I was told it could take up to 2 weeks just to be processed, then however long it takes the banks to clear it.
The fact is that the website is misleading & does not give any indication as to what the stock numbers are, so your time is completely wasted making a choice. Your money is taken, then you are expected to do the chasing up of the order or refund.
The time scale of the refund is only just within the law & not acceptable as an example of good customer relations.
For these reasons I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for a reliable, customer friendly experience.

I would advise potential customers to check how many “unprompted” reviews are positive, as these are highly suspicious. Every fulfilled order would be offered the opportunity to leave a “prompted” review if they were genuine.

This is a scam company
This is a scam company, avoid at all costs ! Ordered 4 bar stools, ALL 4 were faulty. Refused to refund, would only replace, but this was after complaints about the order and delivery, and because of the shocking service I had already ordered elsewhere. Tried calling , their customer phone numbers they provide do not exist.

I cannot recommend Barstools.co.uk. Of eight chairs purchased (and one replacement), 6 of 9 had issues.
Items were shipped in flimsy cardboard packaging which arrived buckled and some even open. Damage sustained would have been avoidable with proper packaging.
Fire resistance badge was missing, alongside manufacturing errors (e.g. missing upholstery), shipping damage (torn fabric on chair corners exposing internal padding), and missing screws to attach the legs. These issues persisted on two consecutive orders. For high value items, a surprising lack of care went into the packaging and shipping process.
In addition to the product issues, we were told after purchase that our item was not in stock and it would be 16 weeks to ship (whilst in stock online), only for the correct item to be "found" a couple of hours later and shipped.
My experience does not appear to align with the other reviews, but it was terrible, and I have no confidence a full set of chairs would be delivered over any number of attempts.
Edit: it's important to recognise customer service have put in effort to make this right. The representative I spoke to on the phone was very polite and supported organising the return for these items after offering to replace them again, or switch to a different design. Unfortunately due to the shipping practices I cannot see a way forward that isn't to return and refund these items in full. A shame, as they would have been lovely chairs.
Edit 2: two weeks on from the chairs returning to Barstools.co.uk, no refund has been received. This now exceeds the refund timescales given by Barstools.co.uk themselves, as per their refund policy. Despite the friendly customer service, I advise potential customers to consider alternatives.
Edit 3: I have now received a refund, after another call to customer support.
Impressively great
First time ordering and I’m really impressed. I’ve purchased an item without realising that it was a ‘pre order’ and I have contacted customer services to cancel/refund the item. From most retailers, you’d normally expect an email confirming that the refund is processed and sums would reach the account within 5 working days. However, Amanda and Molly, who assisted me on this, went beyond expectations and made me feel a valuable customer which rarely happens on nowadays. They are great negotiator, professionally but friendly still, and I ended up a retained customer by purchasing a substitute item for next day delivery. I certainly will be retuning to barstools in the future and will not hesitate to recommend them to friends & family. Thanks again
Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs. I placed an order and then received an email to say the item wasn't in stock and that I'd have to wait 6 weeks. Instead of automatically cancelling my order and refunding me they were all too happy to process my payment. I then had to request a refund and now nearly two weeks later I'm still yet to receive it.
The item in question is still showing as in stock on their website. I'm fairly certain this is illegal. If not, it's incredibly shady practice.
