My nan went to Bents last Wednesday and one of the workers called her a “Old-arse crone” and told her to go back to the retirement home (She doesn’t live in a retirement home) and then they took her expensive walking stick and whacked her around the head with it. I am very disappointed with this service and me and my nan will never be coming back.

Opens at 9am on a Sunday but no mention anywhere that you can't buy anything until 10.30. I understand Sunday trading laws restrict trading to 6 hours but how about letting people know they can't buy anything for an hour and a half so they don't waste their time? Needed a last minute birthday gift in a hurry and spent half an hour choosing only to be told I couldn't purchase it for another hour. Really annoying.

My God WHATS HAPPENED TO BENTS,this was once a trip I really looked forward to.Id always spend £300 to £700 pounds a lot of plants I’d bought did die but this was unusual and I never went back for a refund.
My last visit was an absolute nightmare made so by incompetent and argumentative staff who seemed annoyed with a simple question, it started with three staff swanning around outside who gave the same answer (headset broken don’t normally work outside ask at the desk)I seen the posters around the walls ask the experts I did they had to ask someone else.
The thing that got me was a 50% off sale end of the line on two items ,I was spending over £500 and having trees delivered,The Lady at the dog section till was the only one who was nice a helpful she said it was not showing at 50% I shown the other member of staff were I’d got them from and she said I’ll get the expert after a full scale row with both of them with the utter nonsense they were trying to bully me into believing I walked off,getting back to the till the nice cashier was asking what happened I was calmly explaining the row when the brassy blonde interrupted us and started a row with me,the nice cashier was stunned and said she was sorry and considering the amount of cash I was spending I said don’t worry she’d been great.
I did ask the experts where I could make a complaint the said smugly the desk and started smiling.Its apparent that complaining makes no difference but that’s the last time I’ll give a penny to that company till they give their staff some much needed training and also on customer relations.absolutely disgraceful.

Sorry for the late review, but just had to make sure Gaynor from the plant department got the recognition she deserves! We came in a few months back to make our very first plant purchase from Bents, and she was absolutely amazing. She was so patient and understanding with us, answering every single question we had with care and without making us feel rushed. Her depth and breadth of knowledge is outstanding, she gave us so much confidence. This was our first plant purchase from Bents, but because of Gaynor, it definitely won’t be our last! Thank you so much :)

Rude staff! They always manage to upset me. Avoid!

I recently visited Bents garden Centre for the first time with my husband. It was amazing! Friends and family have recommended Bents on several occasions but as I visit lots of garden centres I thought it wouldn’t be any different to our local garden centre, how wrong was I???
You are spoilt for choice. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. Lorraine explained the guarantee and recommended to get the Bents app (Loyalty card, gives you a free welcome hot drink and birthday cake and exclusive member discounts)
We had been looking for some new garden furniture, we bought top quality at an amazing price, on sale at £999 from £1499!…. £500 savings 👍

Lorraine arranged Free delivery at our convenience. No sales pressure, the atmosphere at Bents is really relaxed.
We had lunch in the restaurant, it was a real treat. Quality food and drinks. Everything is presented so nice, it was a like a work of art.
We will be going back very soon, with our teenage boys, as they want to join for a nice meal.
I just regret not visiting sooner!
I also look forward to seeing the seasonal events, Halloween and Christmas, it will be magical.

Still waiting on my order that should have been delivered yesterday wed! And again nothing it’s Friday tomorrow and I’ve paid £8.00 for delivery! No confirmation no tracking where is my order please?

I visited today with my daughter and grandson the Dinosaur experience was really enjoyable.
The eating experience however was very disappointing I found it overwhelming and chaotic! I chose some hot food and queued for at least 20 mins in a queue that served hot drinks. My pot of tea was prepared as I joined the queue and was stood stewing all the time I queued. By the time I got served my food was lukewarm and my tea was too strong. I felt stressed out there were no forks just knives which I had to go and hunt for. There are different food stalls which are spread out which means you have to join more than 1 queue. There has got to be an easier way. I queued with people who were of the same option as me they were not happy. Such a shame as the garden centre is a lovely place.

Bought a Smashgrill 4 from Bents. Ordered online as they had comfortably the best price. Communication was great, very easy to deal with. The delivery arrived as expected and the driver was excellent. The item was well packaged and easy to put together.

Used Tapas Restaurant for the first time as a surprise lunch for a friends birthday. Setting was very nice and quiet, staff pleasant and attentive. Service and food quality faultless. Everything was so tasty. Prices reasonable. Friend was delighted. Compliments to the Chef - highly recommend and will definitely return

I would like to leave a review for Sandra a waitress in the Bents cafe. I'm not sure these hard working ladies are called waitresses? Sandra is always hard at work whenever I pass by her, she always smiles and says hello when I smile at her no matter how hot or tired she may be feeling! . Please remember her when you next look for a special pleasant and hard working colleague. I think Sandra has been here quite a while now. Sharon. X

Nipped in and bought a couple of cakes. Best Manchester tart I’ve ever had. Delish.

We went there this morning and ordered breakfast. When food arrived I had scrambled eggs in the middle plate and half toasts around the plate. Awful as the scrambled eggs were cooking microwave 🤢 and lukewarm. Toasts far too thick! My friend had pouched eggs but overcook like hard boiled eggs! Never again go there for breakfast. Price are bit high.

Went for an afternoon tea for 2 which is not cheap but it was a present for a special occasion. The food was good but the service was terrible. We waited to be seated but when the server ignored us and walked straight past we wondered if we were in the wrong place. A simple " Be with you in a moment" would have helped. We then tried to book in at the food counter, the server was there and told us "I will deal with you when I have finished this". This set the tone for the rest of the afternoon, the server never once checked in to see if we needed anything or were enjoying the afternoon tea. When we wanted a refill of tea, again we were told "I'll do it when I have finished this" We also had to remind her again about milk. We felt as if we as customers were an encumberance, even though the server was only managing 8 tables, all arrivals were staggered, all meals were pre plated and the only thing that needed to be done was to take them to the table and take and deliver beverage orders, which seemed to be made by another staff member. The Afternoon Tea is usually a 10/10experience but this time it was a 4/10 experience. Very disappointing.
On a positive note a member of staff in the food hall overheard us asking where an item was and immediately offered to show us where it was.
Looking at the previous reviews the main problems appear to be with the dining areas.

Ordered a patio set online leaving specific delivery instructions. Goods arrived on the specified date, really well packed and in excellent condition. No problems at any stage.

I ordered a Weber Gas BBQ from Bents. They initially informed me that I wouldn’t receive the BBQ for 2 weeks, so I got in contact with them to explain that most other websites would provide next day delivery. They responded immediately and made sure to escalate the issue with their logistics team who then reallocated the BBQ to next day delivery.

Absolutely disgusting bents cafe staff. Disabled parents went yesterday and asked for 2 lattes and could someone take them to the table. The lady serving pulled her face and said I got a gammy leg. So why is she working. It took another lady customer behind my dad to help which I thank her for. This place is seriously going downhill and before bents reply the manager was nowhere to be found. The staff are either rude non existent or can't be bothered to serve customers. Absolutely disgraceful

Very poor service in Cafe. Extortionate prices throughout the whole place.
