Excellent service.

I have used Brickleys for almost a year now. They keep my properties is great working order and my tenants happy. They are quick to let me know about issues and are prompt to get them repaired.

Where's the Application?

Email directed me to your website and recommended completing application. In your directions to complete the application you may want to advise prospective tenant that the application is accessed by going to the specific property and opening the link and scrolling down to bottom. Consider putting application as option on home page so that it is readily available or can be seen. Have it loop back to specific property when property address is entered.

Your website is great - just a suggestion for challenged older web users like me. Thank you.

Good managment but alittle greedy.

I am a renter. They manage my property well. When I report a problem they fix it.

My only gripe is the online convenience fee. 27 dollars to pay with a credit card.

I don't understand it since it does not cost them man power and goes right into their account.

My rent which is $950 a month and I often pay in the neighborhood of $1027.00 with water and this convenience fee.

I haven't done the math but I wonder if its cheaper to just physically pay it late in person.

A mixed bag

I really like the automated payment system and the ability to request repairs online. For the most part I have really enjoyed working with them. I guess my only issue was the house was filthy when we moved in, the paint was in horrible condition, there was dog feces on the carpet from the last tenants (yes the carpet cleaning jobs was less than spectacular) and their attitude was take it or leave it. If I had more time I would have left it. It just seemed like a very horrible way to run your customer service. I won't be staying in the house because it was very gross, and I doubt I would use them again just for the fact they were so rude when we started renting.

Thank you for taking a moment to give us some feedback! Unfortunately we are not always able to offer repairs / updates that we would like to give you. This is because most of our properties do not belong to us and we are a middle man for a 3rd party. This is why we push our applicants to make absolutely sure the home is in the condition they are OK with, or ask for a contingency (say you wont rent unless x is performed). Without a contengency request, we must proceed / disclose to our clients you will proceed with the current condition. This only applies to cosmetic imperfections, not essentials (which we have fixed no problem). In addition, because of such high demand for rental property, it is common that one party will take a property "as-is" and another would not. In this stand off, our clients are going to take the least cost move in. We want you to be happy and hope this clarifies what may have taken place. We appreciate having you with us!

Great service

Good people who are friendly and willing to help in any circumstance! No problems or difficulties in maintaning the property when problems arise! I would rent from them anytime!

Pure Negligence

Brickleys allowed a known felon to reside in the adjoining apartment to me where I felt threatened, scared, and unsafe daily. I reported all of the illegal activity I witnessed (overhearing drug deals through the paper thin walls, finding used heroin needles and other drug paraphernalia, burglaries on their property, animals on property not on lease, etc.) to Brickleys and the police and absolutely nothing was done. There were literally squatters living there for over a month while the tenant was in jail. They we're later evicted for failure to pay rent, surprise surprise.
On top of that, Brickleys has consistently refused to fix things on time, or at all. I have huge cracks in my front door that allows cold air and bugs inside (I have found around 10 black widows in my home, but they refuse to spray). They also were negligent in turning my heat on in time. It took over a month to finally be turned on (I ended up doing it myself), and meanwhile I suffered through 15-20 degree weather without a hint of concern for my well being from Brickleys.
If you want to feel safe in your own home, have repairs made in a reasonable time, and receive respectable customer service from a company you are forking over most of your paycheck to, DO NOT rent from Brickleys.

Professional service

Brickleys was professional from the time we located a property through the application process. They have responded very quickly to any concerns regarding the home we are renting. Their reminders and tenant's portal is very easy to use.

I've been a tenant in a property managed by Brickleys for going on four years now. In this time, they've been on point. Always helpful, friendly staff, maintenance is always timely. I've never had a single issue with them. They rock as a management company.

No stress renting!

I have been renting from Brickley's for over a year now. When looking for a house they were the people to go through! They made it easy and painless. The communication with them was wonderful. They made me feel like I was a friend not just another tenet. I will definitely be going through them in the future!

Some good, Some not so good.

So far we have found Brickleys staff to run from Cass a completely ineffectual person with bad follow up and memory with virtually no understanding of what she is doing and a rotten attitude to Mayra who is a joy to deal with getting things done quickly and efficiently. She has a wonderful attitude and is a true asset. Being a renter these are the people I have dealt with.

New Mexico Maintenance, Brickleys repair contractor A barely marginal company who can't seem to do anything without two people coming to the residence. They once wanted to replace an entire sliding screen door because in their words parts were unavailable. I made one trip to the hardware store and purchased the parts repaired the door myself and it continues to work perfectly. Another time they came to service the air conditioner. When I arrived home it was over 85 degrees in the house and my cat was in bad shape due to it. The A/C was not working, I found the circuit breaker tripped, and the door on the A/C unit ajar causing the unit not to function. Once again I had to fix it myself. Additionally they always seem to want to not give the resident any lead time for an appointment to repair or service anything. The last time they called on Friday afternoon about two and I wasn't home, I got the message that they wanted to come at 3 on the following Monday. Of course no one was available to talk to Friday night when i got the message. They arrived for the three o'clock appointment at shortly after four. They simply need to do a better job with advance notice as well as the competence of their personnel.

Overall probably one of the better companies to work with in Albuquerque

There are many shady and untrustworthy management companies and owners in Albuquerque. After searching more for a reputable company to do business with than the actual location, we thought we found a good bet with Brickleys. Overall we would say they are probably one of the more trustworthy and reliable companies out there, altho not without their faults. As a landlord myself, I am sensitive to both sides of the equation, so I will try to point out areas for improvement.

The good: Staff for the most part are friendly to work with, and documentation is very easy to work with. We were explained the lease terms in a very clear and precise manner which was very refreshing. It seems that maintenance items that they originate are just fine.

The bad: Calls to maintenance that a tenant originates take forever, even with critical items such as running water. No one should have to wait a week or more for maintenance to come out to replace an easy to access broken pipe for running water in the kitchen. After waiting 3 days for maintenance to come out because they told us someone would come "right away", then saying they would come a week later, we just fixed the pipe ourselves. If we had known it was going to take a week or more for someone to come out, we would have taken care of it sooner. What we don't appreciate is being told one thing when they don't hold their word. Very unprofessional. When maintenance finally showed up, we just needed them to check the pipe to make sure we got it right (neither of us is a plumber!) and to fix one minor other thing. The maintenance guy was very nice and friendly, but the length of time is inexcusable for a critical item such as running water.

The ugly: We decided on this place because the cost included utilities, and we thought we found an honest, trustworthy company to work with (more important than the actual cost, to us). However, after the lease was up, they decided that utilities would no longer be included. While we both understand the terms of a lease can be changed when the lease expires, neither of us was prepared for nearly 20% increase in the cost of the unit. Whoever is responsible for this decision needs to have their head examined. This is not the way to treat good quality tenants, and I could not fathom doing this to my own tenants. We honestly would not have had a huge problem with this - if the increase was done in a more respectable way. I think someone forgot the old saying "a frog plopped into boiling water will hop right back out if it can, while one put into cold water which is then slowly heated will remain until it is cooked"

Well, these two frogs are now boiling.

Working with the Owner directly gets results faster

To add to the below review, Brickleys also has surpassed the 30 day deposit refund, they put the rental zip code on the mail instead of the forwarding address. No attention to detail, then refused to overnight it. I recommend all home owners and tenants stay away from these unprofessionals.

Honest opinion? Hit and miss on maintenance coming over. Filter replacement transaction was wonderful with both employees. A broken space heater, leaky refrigerator water spout, and washing machine was better to either take care of myself or contact the owner directly. One of the several vendors Brickleys called to fix the washing machine told me that communication is lacking. It was over two weeks without a washing machine before someone who admitted to not working on that brand of washing machine came out. At this point, I jump roped Brickleys and called the owner directly. He had a new washing machine ordered within 24 hours. The vendor called me the next week saying he still hadn't heard back from Brickley's regarding his quote to fix the machine because he was waiting on Brickleys to hear back from the owner. Miscommunication??? Yup.

That aside. Online payment is easy, online contract signing and negotiations were smooth. Other than the notification that my contract was ending a month earlier than what my signed contract said. It was corrected, but then I received another email saying my contract was almost up after I had already signed a renewal contract.

I'm not sure they really care about the residents, honestly. The maintenance crew members that I have met have been great. There was a communication where one thought, "I'm in the neighborhood, I'll just swing by," unannounced, "in order to determine an A/C unit/Swamp Cooler system." It just so happens that I was away and my wife and son were home alone. Not cool. Disrespectful. An apology was made by the office staff.

You wanted an "honest" review. These were my experiences with Brickleys over the course of one year. I am not trying to get anyone into trouble, nor hurt anyone's feelings. If you're offended, you may be part of the problem, in my humble opinion.
