They tried to fine me £60 for spending less than an hour in a pub car park, I then had to raise an appeal as the correspondence they sent out was late meaning the charged jumped up to £100. They ever... Mehr ansehen

Charged £60 for penalty fine despite paying for parking, appealing with evidence. Will be avoiding these carparks in future
Parked at Flamborough head north…
Parked at Flamborough head north landing car park, waited at machine and eventually managed to pay for 1 hour ticket with expiary tme on it. Put it in my window and took in the views. Came back and left with minutes to spare. 2 weeks later have received a £100 penalty notice. Letter had photos of my car as it entered and left with times which came to 1hr 2mins 14 secs. It was the time from crossing onto their land to getting a ticket that has cost me .Who on this earth can park and pay instantaneously. Have appealed but know from these other reviews what the outcome will be so will have to take it further .Thieving scum but more annoying is how they are allowed to do it
If I could give this scam of a company…
If I could give this scam of a company a 0, I would. They are ripping off the public left right and centre and being allowed to get away with it! We were on holiday recently and new to the area just to watch a boat go through the lock, we thought we were ok and sent our registration number twice but still not correct so received parking charge not long after returning home. What a bad impression on visitors for a genuine mistake. Their system is complicated for a reason, We didn't have any problems with Ring & Go, very user friendly. Who wants to read a long T&C's on holiday?? We apparently should have gone inside the STAG & MONKEY, Hartlepool TS25 1SD as it is for their visitors only, but we didn't know and didn't notice them open at that time of the morning.
Boycott their car parks and this pub is the answer I am now joining MANY other members of the public on Trustpilot. Absolute rubbish of a company and bad leadership with a bad attitude to go with it!
SCAM
After parking in a very large carpark with no clear signage of parking restrictions for twenty six minutes, yes twenty six - I have received a parking fine for the full amount of £100, three weeks after the fine was issued & of course past the fourteen day early payment period. This is the first letter that has been sent by the company to myself, THREE weeks after the fine was issued. Corrupt company with a clear agenda to scam road users of their hard earned money by sending fines out late - ensuring individuals miss the fourteen day period of a discounted rate.
Most certainly not legal and this is being taken further.
Unfair Fines
Fortis Green Road car park in N10 is run by Britannia Parking. I have 2 Parking Charge Notices because according to Britannia I failed to pay. However the Q Park app to which I was directed by signage failed to collect payment and I am being fined for this, even though I have confirmation I set up the app correctly. Britannia has rejected my appeal and asked debt collectors to pursue me. This is grossly unfair.
Shocking company!!
Shocking company!!
Machine not working, took video evidence, but thats not good enough to cancel fine.
Took 28 days to reply to say should of read T&C's, my own fault for parking if machines were not working.
Could not contact them, staff were so rude.
This company needs investigating…
This company needs investigating urgently!!! How are they getting away with all this? Issued a final warning letter (apparently I ignored the first one which was never issued) stating I need to pay £100 final amount. I only had a couple of days before they threaten collection agencies. Timed it all perfectly didn’t they…
Scammers
Scammers - Issued a £100 fine (the maximum they are 'allowed' to do so, despite having choices to penalise less) for a 5 minute overstay and only sent the final reminder letter to deliberately arrive on the final day permitted to pay the fine. They stated they sent earlier letters which they didn't do, I'm sure the postie isn't hoarding these fines to pay them themselves.
The point of a parking fine is to penalise people for not paying or causing lost revenue by taking up parking spaces for those who would pay. Going after the honest people who accidentally overstay who have already paid for their parking is completely unjust and tells you all you need to know about these companies.
They will impose the maximum fine on those honest people who will pay rather than kick up a fuss but I'm sure those 100s of empty car parking spaces in the car park really caused lost revenue from a accidental 5 minute overstay.
SCAMMERS!!
We were staying at the Travel Lodge Chelmsford for a show.
At the same time of booking the hotel we pre booked parking in the Army & Navy car park.
Now been sent a parking ticket for which we appealed and showed the receipt of payment on bank statement.
Today I have received a email saying appeal has been refused and we have to pay or appeal to POPLA, we will most certainly be appealing!!
No parking meters operating in the…
No parking meters operating in the location and no signal. The online system is crap, the dates jump around and when you make a genuine error and get fined £100 but have paid the correct amount the appeals process is faceless and corrupt!
This company is absolute ashambles
This company is absolute ashambles. The first and only letter I recieved was a 'FINAL WARNING' DO NOT IGNORE THIS NOTICE THE DISCOUNTED PERIOD HAS EXPIRED. A discounted amount was apparently offered for early payment. I challenged this and they could not provide any evidence it. They want you to pay the £100 and threaten you with court proceeding. Challenge them people! Ask them for evidence of the first letter. They couldnt provide and offered an discounted amount. Absolute rip off of a company!!
Unfair charge and poor appeal process
I have used Britannia Parking car parks for years without issue. However, after receiving a £100 charge for a minor overstay at West Quay Southampton — where I had already paid £4.00 and exceeded my time by around one hour — I am very disappointed with how my appeal has been handled. I submitted my appeal in good faith, chased the outcome, and was then told the deadline to escalate to POPLA had passed because their rejection email never reached me. A £100 charge for a £1.50 underpayment, combined with a process that effectively denied me independent appeal, does not reflect well on a company I had previously trusted with my parking
College Way Parking, South Essex College Basildon
1st june 2026
machines had clear "out of order" signage on them.
I didn't see the tiny pay online sticker on the side of one machine, it wouldn't have mattered anyway because there isn't any phone signal in the area for O2.
If you can send an automatic fine then can't you just send me a bill for that time spent there?
I still got a £100 fine.
I was there for maybe 40mins
I wonder, how do the elderly deal with these scammers?
Why do we have to pay for parking in the first place, honestly.
These "companies" are nothing but a massive con.
Will never get your money back
Even if it was an accident or in the appeal timeframe you won’t get your money back. Worst company out there. Sort yourselves out
Refused to refund ticket after cancelled train services due to person being hit by a train
Parked at their Arlesey Station car park, and paid on arrival as stated on signage. Unfortunately, shortly after parking, a person sadly got hit by a train further up the line, resulting in all trains being cancelled for the coming few hours.
Therefore i left the car park, within 15 mins and wrote to their customer service team, including evidence of the incident and my payment, to ask if they would refund the payment. I have today received a blunt email from a team leader informing me brittania parking does not issue refunds and as i 'elected' to pay, that was my issue not theirs! Certainly showing themselves for the unemphatic practices that give parking companies a bad name
It’s the Customer’s Fault
I made two trips to the local Waitrose one day in May, about 4 hours apart. I then got a penalty notice from Britannia showing my first entry and second exit and claiming I had been parked there all day. I appealed on the grounds that their cameras had missed by second exit and entry. My appeal was successful but their letter still tried to blame me and threatened more action in future:
“ We do know on occasions reads can be missed due to reason outside of our control - speed of exit,
tailgating, a cracked or dirty registration.
Therefore, we have cancelled the Parking Charge and no further action is required. However, if your
receive another, this reason will not be accepted, if no other camera reads are located, now that you are
aware not to speed on entry or exit, tailgate, or have a a cracked / dirty registration plate.”
What an absolute joke of a company 🤭
I went to North landing
I went to North landing , Flamborough head just to take the dog for a quick walk, went to get my ticket both machines stated clearly out of order I took a picture just in case.
A few weeks later you guessed I got a fine I sent them the screenshot only to be told that isn't our fault, you still need to pay the fine.
Brittania parking are just a greedy , money grabbing company , who don't care about about people and their circumstances.
Fined £60 despite paying — their app, their problem
My husband and I parked at a Britannia car park and attempted to pay via their app immediately. There was no mobile signal in the car park, so after several failed attempts we went upstairs, tried again, and eventually got the payment through. Around 20 minutes later my husband noticed the transaction hadn't completed, so he paid again straight away. We then received a £60 penalty notice for "not paying."
We appealed, providing the payment receipt and a clear explanation of the signal issues. Britannia rejected the appeal, stating we hadn't paid for our "full stay" — the 32-minute gap caused entirely by their own payment system not working in their own car park.
If you operate an app payment system, it is your responsibility to ensure there is adequate signal for customers to use it. Penalising honest customers for a failing in your own infrastructure is unacceptable.
I have always paid for my parking and have never had a parking issue before. I have now paid the £60 to avoid it escalating to £100 — which feels like the business model. Check the reviews here and on Parkopedia: my experience is far from unique.
I will never use a Britannia Parking car park again and would strongly advise others to do the same.
Britannua Parking fines authorised cars…
Britannua Parking fines authorised cars as well.We got fined for being in our own parking bay which our car has been for many years and its still there..we informed our management company and they said there is a glitch in the Britannia car parking system and they apologised profusely and asked us to appeal to park on our own car park space which we own which I find ridiculous
Vile
Visited a client who uses this POS company in their car park. I thought I had paid, so was surprised to receive a notice. Less surprised to see I received the notice nearly a month after it was issued and well past their 14 day discount period.
It's amazing that we allow these predatory companies to exist, but it's usually the council (government) using them. We are treated as a source of income, it's time to start a rebellion.
