Disaster and Fiasco
If I could give minus numbers for star rating it would be MINUS 10 !
Utter catastrophe of a company.
Fails to issue a new EPC certificate for the work within guidelines required.
Juggling of manpower by the installs manager Warburton is a farce ineffective at responding to queries or solving issues.
The ECO4 grant work started in July, where a "team" of their employees rocked up after noon to start the work. Protective film applied to various carpets as a walkway. Then the lump hammers came out to remove existing plaster coving showering the room and furnishings with debris and dust ! Much of which was trodden in to other areas around the property.
Curtain fixtures were removed with a crowbar, as were the PINE skirting boards breaking them and damaging the curtains and rails. Plus the TV wall bracket in our bedroom was splattered with debris and later on wet plaster as were the carpets and bedroom dressers.
Debris left in corners where they couldn't be bothered to clear up at the end of each day.
An employee removed all power sockets in our front room, damaging the ring main in the process, and while extending the cables using "WayGo" connectors failed to include a spur to another room. When questioned he admitted he wasn't an electrician and didn't know how to wire it back together !.. 2 months waiting for fix !.
After the wall board was put on walls in one room there were green adhesive stains on the walls and ceiling wher they'd dragged the boards across the other walls while installing it !. I had to lend them a vacuum to clear up the debris every day for 5 days.
During the plastering of the insulation board the plasterer mixed up in a dirty bucket ON THE CARPETS leaving black stains and debris in the weave ! STILL waiting for them to do something about this issue even now !
There were days when they didn't apear until late morning which was due to the football being on (According to a "manager" when questioned)
Following this fiasco a plumber appeared.... and commenced fitting in the air source heat pump and the pressure tank and fixtures into a small brick built extension leaving brick size holes in the walls He then drained the system into a BRAND NEW walk in shower facility drain (2 weeks old) not checking for drainage (Pumped system) and FLOODED the room, hall and bedroom carpet !
Radiator tails were capped off badly resulting in 5 gallons of black system water across my office carpet as it leaked when pressurised! Leaving a scum stain and damage to the carpet. Still there even now!
Add into that while installing a mains feed water supply in the loft an employee FELL THROUGH THE BEDROOM CEILING causing debris to damage the still wet carpet, wardrobes and our clothing... There was NO clear up of this issue, so I sorrted that myself then waited for 3 weeks until someone appeared to replace the plasterboard yet failed to even bother to match the artex finish when plastering the gaps !
The skirting boards had 4" holes where the pipes for radiators were fitted and stayed like that for 3 months until the decorator filled them in.
The carpenter fitted half the new skirting (Cheap white MDF) and replacement window cills (19mm MDF) leaving a routered rough edge.
There were cable access holes in wall board socket mounts smashed through with a hammer leaving sharp edges rubbing the mains cables instead of cutting out the access properly...plus mounting clamps on one socket mount missing on one side so flapping around in the breeze.
NO earth sheathing on ANY earth cable extended through the wallboards, causing hazard tripping of the electrical fuseboard. (Rectified by MY electrician at MY cost and also the spur repair.)
Some bod appeared to fix a ventilation fan into the kitchen ceiling, and failed to actually wire it in !.... also left debris where he cut trickle vents into each window with a power tool.
The huge pile of debris in my driveway stayed there for 5 weeks until rats started nesting looking for the waste food left by the contractors from their lunches and after many many calls and emails a skip appeared and the area was cleared by a passing team on their way to another job
Scaffolding was up for 3 weeks AFTER the PV was installed giving access to anyone who would like to enter the property from above should they so wish.
The TOTAL lack of communication and customer information is apparent, and little or no response from complaints about all the work.
The company are now blocking all communication about the issues and refusing to discuss any compensation for this long running saga of disaster...
NOTE to this company... DO NOT COPY AND PASTE THE USUAL RESPONSE AS YOU CLEARLY ARE NOT PROFESSIONAL ENOUGH TO COMMUNICATE OR RECTIFY ANYTHING NOR PROVIDE ANY HINT OF APOLOGY NOR COMPENSATION

I am happy with the team and how they cleaned everything once they was done an absolutely amazing team
I have given a three star for the…
I have given a three star for the office staff at Energy Smart. Nicola and Kevin have been very rude and unhelpful. Offer you the world then deliver nothing. I had to constantly call up all the time for updates and dates for workers to come out. Kevin would never answer the phone and would never get back to you. I had to constantly call the office. Kevin said it will take 10 days to complete. It is coming on five weeks and it’s not finished. If I could, I would give a zero stars to the office staff.
Stephen Hirst from the office has been amazing. So so helpful and got things sorted straight away. If you ever go with Energy Smart , I advise you to deal with Stephen only. I would give him a five stars. Lovely man, extremely helpful.
The joiners Richard and Chris are amazing joiners. I would give them 10 stars if I could. Their work is absolutely perfection. Not one complaint. They are clean and tidy and took care in every little detail. They made sure it was perfect. Great guys great workers.
Paul, who fitted my extractor fans was extremely clean and tidy. Hardly made any mess he done a very good job.
The joiners Richard and Chris were absolutely amazing and also Paul, it’s such a shame the office staff let the company down. They do not book enough time for the jobs to be completed. And then the customer is very unhappy because it is only half done this is not the workers fault it is all down to the office not booking adequate time. I could not fault the Work Richard and Chris Have completed

A company you can trust
We have had great care and communication from the team from the offset. They use there own team, so they know the quality of work is top notch.
You are able to contact your main person if you have any queries (before,during and after).
Unfortunately we ended up having a water leak and we called Kevin and someone was sent the same day and the issue was resolved.

excellent standard of work with responsive management
I'm giving 5 stars, because all the teams are enthusiastic and complete the work to an excellent standard; plus the management are very responsive, happy to adapt and rework if something isn't quite right and are keen to make sure everything is going OK.
Igor and Slavic installed the insulation and worked sooo fast, with Slavic being a fantastic plasterer!
Chris and (? - so sorry can't remember his name which I feel terrible about) who were the joiners were lovely and again produced fast and excellent work.
The solar installers were incredibly fast - and helpful too!
There have been a few glitches with installers turning up before the products to install have arrived, but for me this doesn't take away from the 5 stars, because the management have just dealt with it.
The only other thing I'd say is that all the installation teams are working very very hard (to their credit), and so I do think they deserve a bit more travel time and allowances if possible. They're a big asset to Energy Smart, so you need to keep them!

Started 4th May, 10 Sept 2024 and not finished
Started 4th May, 2024.
A chapter of disasters from start to finish.
They are now not communicating with me.
10th September. 2024.still not finished.
Waiting for a replacement boiler instructions as the plumber wet the book and pages all stuck together.
No verbal instructions given. So unable to tell if installation is complete and unconnected wires left.
So no heat and it’s autumnal now.
Confirmation that my existing wood burning stove with back Boiler will work together with the new boiler.
No electric lights on stairs as wrongly connected.no wall lights reconnected in lounge.
Hall lights not correct
Carpets were soaked when installing radiators. Black sludge smelly water on my lounge carpet, stains will not come out. Also scorched burn marks on carpets where radiators were installed.
No carpet protection provided by the plumber.
Antique items broken even though in a ‘safe place’
No curtains since 4th May, now 10th September. Curtains rails here, but bits to connect to the wall can’t be found.
No walls painted.
Floor boards not put back properly on landing where pipes were laid. They all rock and squeak.
And on and on it goes.
Have written to Energy Smart but now no reply.
I need to heat my home now, I am 79 years old in a few weeks with a son with brain damage and inoperable back injuries.
I need help ! I’m not getting it. Very upset and distraught at how just left.

So weeks have past and still nothing…
So weeks have past and still nothing from these guys except a call and empty promises.
We have had to move out due to the leaks and no electricity to half the house I’ve now gone to the county court if anyone has had a bad experience as I have please get in touch and I will add u to my legal action at no cost and I will help anyone in a similar situation

Inside insulation well worth it.
The whole experience was really nice as all the plumbers, plasterers and electricians were very helpful and friendly. They were also very polite and helpful with me. They always cleaned up after work every day. I found the whole experience was very helpful and satisfying for me and for them. It could take a while for the work to be completed but it’s worth it. Thank you very much for all that you’ve done for me.

She responded to all my queries within one hour and impacted my requests within the day. Kevin, who manages the team has been brilliant and understanding and offered me an excellent deal. The staff arrived on time and worked really hard going that extra mile to help even moving my furniture and all items safely. What can I say !
What can I say !! Jay came this morning and performed a survey for us , what a lovely man , very knowledgeable, very professional and very polite, he explained very clearly what he would be doing and he did it very efficiently, any one reading this, Jay takes one sugar and a little milk in his tea, A really all round nice chap , thanks Jay , we really appreciate it .hi again,on the 2 nd of August Thomas the electrician came and connected everything up in one day , so from start to finish it’s taken about 10 days to install solar panels and heaters, EnergySmart is a very efficient company and I would highly recommend them, thanks EnergySmart

Everyone's been great
Everyone's been great, can't complain we've ended up having new insulation and solar put on the house. The lads were really friendly , Lee was really good to deal with. Only thing was the solar panels took a bit longer than promised, apparently the scaffolding company kept letting them down.
