No start option in app
I tried to use the charger in Ballyconnel last weekend and it refused to start, the START option would not appear on the app, I also tried paying be cerdit card and the process was not clearly defined, However I contacted your help desk and the lady was very helpful, she reset the machine and did a remote start and it eventually worked

1. Log in
2. Open the map
3. Search for your location
4. Select the charge point
5. Choose the connector by tapping "Select"
6. Once the app displays “Initiate Charging”, plug in your cable

It took twenty minutes to get…
It took me about twenty minutes to get everything set up. At first I thought you just pay with a credit or debit card. So I until I read directions it was a couple access denied. It would make it far easier to just use a credit card. I have a folder called EV in my phone. There are eleven different apps in it! Once set up it was no problem and I like I could stop it remotely.

It was easy to find.
But downloading app are ridiculous as not everyone can do this for whatever reason. Then it was very slow charging two hours and didn't even bring it up 20. It was a very stressful task.

Regarding the charging speed, we checked the session and can confirm that the connector used was an 11kW AC charger. These chargers are designed for slower, longer-duration charging and are ideal when the vehicle can be left connected for a longer period of time. If you need to add more range in a shorter timeframe, we’d recommend choosing a higher-powered charger, such as a DC fast charger, where available.
We hope your next charging experience with EZO is smoother, and we appreciate your feedback as we continue working to make EV charging as accessible and straightforward as possible.

The guy that helped me on the phone was great, got me sorted. I would say that you need to make Pay As You Go easier, the card reader wouldn’t read my card, I kept getting a ‘Communication Failed’ message, which was the reason I ended up calling customer service in the first place.

We’ve reviewed your account and the failed authorisation attempts we can see are from ESB chargers. As these chargers are operated by another network, we don’t have access to their systems or the ability to troubleshoot issues with their card readers directly.

I have a subscription with EZO
I have a subscription with EZO. The fast charger at the Clybaun Hotel in Galway wouldn't work. There was no indication on the app or at the charger that it was out of service.
I then had to wait over 10 minutes on hold because "all agents are helping other customers," only to be told the charger was out of order. This information should have been clearly displayed before I made the journey. Thr agent asked for the charger point code, there was none, she said it should be on display, it wasn't. The touch screen was not working and very desensitised.
As we sat at the fast charging point for a further 20mins trying to plan out next EV charging point, gauging the battery life left, we watched a man try to pull his car charger off the EZO slow charging point, the car shook, the charging station shook and he faught. We left after 20mins and left him still fighting.
To make matters worse, this is the third EV charging station I've visited that has been out of order. The level of service is simply not acceptable and has left me seriously questioning the value of any EV. This has been every day/ overnight trip i have taken this summer since getting my EV. A 'little' planning before hand never works, even a lot of planning will leave you driving around from point to point extremely frustrated, wasting countless hours.

We've reviewed the Clybaun Hotel site and can confirm that one of the fast chargers is currently out of service. This charger is shown as unavailable (greyed out) in the EZO app, while the remaining chargers at the location are operating as normal.
From your review, it sounds like there may have been more to what happened on the day, so we'd really appreciate the opportunity to understand your experience better. If you could contact us at support@ezo.ie with a few more details—such as which charger you attempted to use and approximately when you visited—we'll be happy to investigate this further.

There was a charger in Castlebar
There was a charger in Castlebar. I charged it, the light came one in my car I went away thinking that it was charging and came back 5 mins later to see the session had finished and I had no charge. I tried two more times, I had to ring the support line. The person was very friendly but he tried. It was down to the fact that someone else was using the CCS connection on the same charger unit. What a bad system that two cars can't charge at the same time. I give talks on renewable energy and run a sustainable community in west of Ireland. Ezo need to invest more in their charger as I just returned from France and Netherlands and they have eight 350 KW chargers in charging station. Here we have to ring to get a 50kW system to work.

From what we can see, it looks like the charging session may not have been fully initiated through the app. If there had been an issue with the charger’s power supply or the unit itself, our support team would not have been able to start the session either.

Needed 20 kW charging power at strathpeffer but only went to 6kw My car can be charged up to 130kw so it is not an issue with the car. Had to charge here coming back from applecross towards aberdeen because the achnasheen charger was not working

I had difficulty with the plug which…
I had difficulty with the plug which was a nuisance. However the helpful person who answered my call to the helpline more than made up for the difficulties I was experiencing. The first time I used the charger a few weeks ago I also had to ring the helpline and the person who answered then was also extremely helpful. So while there may be problems with the chargers, your helpful staff reverse any frustrations.

Needs more powerful charger
The charging was straightforward, but with a long journey ahead, the overstay of 40 minutes comes too soon when you have to get to 100%. To that end, a charger greater that 50kW would be helpful.

I waited 40 minutes for my car to charge. It only got 20% as my account had insufficient funds. It stopped charging when my account had € 1.79 left. I would like to have used up all my credit and maybe even give a bit more

Our system is designed to prevent your app balance from going into a negative amount, so if continuing a charging session would bring the balance below €0, the session will automatically end before that happens.
If you're planning a longer charging session, we recommend topping up your balance by a little more beforehand to ensure there's enough credit for the full charge.

Horrifically Unreliable Units
Charging at Athy GAA, right hand charging (side 02) is never working. Shocking for a brand new unit only connected a couple of weeks ago. EZO are hands down the most unreliable charging company I have used since buying my EV.
I completely avoid them unless its an emergency and would advise others do the same so they're not caught out.
