Hi Nieve, not surprised to see your review here. I knew that when we did not cave into your threats and demands to change how our club works and that when I refused to let you try to force us to go against Amazon's Guidelines you'd try to give us trouble and make false accusations. I'm so glad we decided to permanently ban you; it is well worth a 1-star review to have our network and support team safe from you! I personally worked with you for over a month because you were upsetting our support team. The whole time I was letting your bouts of anger and threats slide because I really wanted you to be successful. However, anytime I gave advice on how to increase your review rate you always had some kind of reason why it would not work or how our system should do X or Y like we built this thing just for your book and no one else. I’ve been able to help hundreds of members with their support issues consistently for several years now, but you refused to try anything I recommended. As we were approaching your imminent ban, I did say you should “build your own website” which was a little cheeky, but well deserved after a month of you refusing to accept any advice, accept the reality that we have to abide by Amazon’s Community Guidelines, or accept how our network works for everyone (not just you).
"The reviews are terrible and people don't read the books." Our service is built on authors reviewing each other's work with an additional network of independent reviewers who can earn a free copy of a book and review it if they feel inclined to do so. We have several checks in place to ensure the reviewer has read the book entirely via AI analysis and via our confirmation teams manual inspection of a review.
“The bad reviewers got away with it, over and over. In fact it looks like it's a real scam and there's no reviewers on there, just a bunch of paid people doing a terrible job and a few authors hoping for the best.” This is a false and baseless accusation. The reviews received are based on the reviewer's genuine opinion and nobody is paid to give reviews. If we were paying people to review your books then why would we tell them to give you a 4-star review? You’re just upset because one person’s honest opinion was a 4-star rating. We don't guarantee that every author will love every review they receive. A review, whether 4 stars or 5, is still a valuable piece of feedback and part of the experience of being an author. In your case you received five well thought out reviews that were 5 stars, and yes one 4-star review which is part of having a book on Amazon. You’re upset that you did not get a sixth 5-star review, and that is understandable, but you can not take that out on our support team and I’m certainly not going to cave to any threats or demands you make just because one person does not see your book as 5-stars. It’s totally subjective, some people have extremely high standards and never give 5-star reviews. Some people feel that 5-star reviews should only be reserved for the most acclaimed authors and mind-blowing books.
"Our reviews on Trustpilot are paid." Another totally baseless accusation. We do not pay for or incentivize reviews on any platform. Our members are free to share their honest experiences, and we are proud of the feedback we have received from members who are still active today. Also, we’ve had thousands of members over the last 4 years, and if our membership is as terrible as you claim, wouldn’t there be a lot more negative reviews on here? Wouldn’t they just quit and then leave a negative review? If what you are saying was actually true we’d have a ton of negative reviews here, like some of our competitors do! People are always motivated to leave a negative review because they are upset, but since we rarely upset anyone, there are no negative reviews here or anywhere else online.
So glad you're gone so we can focus on the rest of our members who are all true gems, respectful, supportive, and thoughtful.
