Didn't even receive my order
I decided to try HelloFresh for the first time and ordered the Classic Plan (3 meals for 2 people), expecting it to be delivered on Saturday, 25 July. Because I was relying on this delivery, I didn't buy any groceries for the weekend.
The biggest problem was that there was no tracking whatsoever. I had absolutely no way of knowing where my order was or whether it was even coming. I contacted customer support during the day and was told deliveries usually arrive between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, so I waited at home all day. Nothing arrived.
At around 6:00 PM, I tried contacting support again, only to find they were already closed. By then, our entire day had been ruined. Since we had no groceries at home and had planned all our meals around the HelloFresh box, both of us had to order every meal through Deliveroo, which ended up costing far more than we normally spend. We usually cook at home, but we specifically skipped grocery shopping because we trusted HelloFresh to deliver as promised.
On Sunday, I contacted support again and was told they would check with the delivery team and email me. Later that day, I received an email saying my order would not be delivered due to "unforeseen circumstances."
Yes, they refunded the €21, but that's not compensation—that's simply returning money for something they never delivered. The €10 account credit is useless to me because after this experience I have no intention of ordering from HelloFresh again.
No tracking, no communication, no delivery, and support unavailable when I actually needed help. This was an absolutely terrible first experience. It wasted my entire day, forced us to spend extra money on takeaway, and completely defeated the purpose of ordering a meal kit service in the first place. I definitely won't be using HelloFresh again.

Loving the ease and convenience. Huge weight off not having to think about what to make! That being said I've had a few issues around veg freshness, ingredients missing/damaged. All in all happy though.

The service is very good. The delivery vans arrived at the appointed time. The meat is well packaged in ice packs. The food quality is great. No food waste. Only downside side is that sometimes ingredients are missing or changed. I ordered sweet potatoes and got ordinary potatoes. Meat for a dinner not included. Although you get some compensation it’s not helpful when it’s dinner time and you are missing an ingredient.

We are only two deliveries in so it’s…
We are only two deliveries in so it’s early days. So far a bit mixed for us as we’ve had a couple of fails- probably due to overcooking on our part. Though in the main the meals we’ve selected have been very tasty. Some very calorific so trying to filter the calorie conscious meals. Delivery has been on time, though a bit of a pain waiting in all day, that said we’ve been kept informed and get a text with the hour of delivery later in the day. We had some beans that were browning and there are no use by dates on the outer bags. We’ve found if you order 3 meals you have to use them consecutively as food is on date or in one case by the 3 rd day past date. Customer service helped get my app sorted when it failed and I couldn’t select Ireland. We’re going to try a few more yet & see how we get on.

Ingredients were repetitive
Ingredients were repetitive. 2 receipes used bacon spinach and creme fraiche. I had to throw out 2 bags of spinach because it was rotten. You need an option to choose eg cooking cream instead of creme fraiche as my kids don't like it. Also you need an option to exclude sauces, I have a box of sauce packets in the fridge as I never use the amount given, the same with the herbs.

Food is fresh and recipes are accurate
Food is fresh and recipes are always accurate. I cannot fault really. I would like more options to pick low fat ingredients e.g. creme fraiche or coconut milk etc. This would help me. Otherwise I am happy with the choices - a great opportunity to cook different dishes during the week at a good price.

Hello fresh is a great way of trying new recipes and the meals are so fresh and delicious, however they took €60.39 from my bank the following week and I did not authorise this transaction. This was really disappointing as the previous week I spent €67 euro on my very first order . Be careful when you order as they went straight in and took the money without my consent. They did refund me the money as I was really cross about it .

Foolproof recipes; a change from cooking the same dinners on rotation.
I’ve learned a few new recipes that I keep in my rotation now. You don’t have to get a box every week, you pick and choose as you like. The recipes are easy to follow and it often does feel like restaurant quality. The one time I needed to contact Hello Fresh’s customer service it was easy and they helped me with my issue quickly.

Much better than I expected
Our first order was exciting to receive. We love sweet potato and turkey. Alas the sweet potato was missing and changed to Maris Piper. I was so disappointed thinking that the meal would not be the same. Silly me, it was still delicious. What a dream not to shop for ingredients that you perhaps only use once or have to find another recipe to use it up. Very pleased

Got a voucher with summer camp- 3 meals…
Got a voucher with summer camp- 3 meals for 4.99- meals according to the website would cost 73€. Would be delivered a week later BUT in trying this sample i was signing up for a subscription of 73€ per week for 3 meals !! And the payment would come out in 2 days time ( before I even got my "sample"). We are a family of 3 and my weekly shop is 70per week not including toiletries etc.
I wouldn't go near this unless I absolutely didnt have time to shop/cook. Too expensive and theres an element of tricking you into buying.

Short summary... Tastey enough... Not as fresh as we would like.. Substitutions are to be expected...
We've only been making it 2 days now so this may not be the most accurate representation.... But they did ask.. The two meals so far have been very tastey pak choi noodles with prawns and spicy beef cheese naan breads...
Some of the fresh produce was not as fresh as to be expected... One Orange a bit mouldy.. one pepper a bit mouldy..
And the Naan breads were generic off the shelf brand... And WAY stoggier than the image represents.. It looks flat and crispy but we were given the "Fitzgerald" brand I think they are which is the most un-naaniest bread out there...
They also substituted sweet potatos with normal potatoes which does work as well with the meal... Well we haven't eaten it yet but probably wouldn't have ordered it if it was just potatoes..
Fruit pack it not worth €10.. Probably €6 or €7 in aldi/lidl...
Anyway... Short summary... Tastey enough... Not as fresh as we would like.. Substitutions are to be expected...
