1st time booking with Holiday gems, Martin was very helpful, explaining the whole process to me, then after I received my documents by email he phoned to make sure I had everything, and details were correct. Although price was more expensive than the online price, still cheaper than other rivals.
Martin made the whole process a good experience and was most helpful. Thank you ☺️

I 'booked' the holiday and selected to pay the full amount. I was then called 2 days later by an agent who then went through each element of the holiday (flights, accommodation, transfers) and told me yes they were still available. He then said, 'so that'll just be another £31 per person to pay'. I told him I was very confused as I'd booked with them 2 years ago and didn't have this and he said it's his they operate and most people don't mind paying extra. I told him to cancel the holiday (out of principle more than anything) and he told me to wait while he would see what he could do. He came back on the phone and said because I was an existing customer, he could honour the original price.
When I originally booked, I saw nothing saying that the price might not end up being as advertised, but when I went back and looked through the FAQs it did say it could change. Next time, I'll phone straight away to make sure it's booked there and then, rather than 'order' the holiday to have it confirmed later on.

HOLIDAY GEMS!!!! DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY THEY ARE CON ARTISTS.

I booked a holiday with them which due to an appointment I could not change I cancelled it 2 days later, accepting that I would lose the £300 deposit. I cancelled it on the holiday portal but have just seen the email that they sent back saying they refuse to cancel the holiday until £1900 cancellation fee is paid.

How is this acceptable in this day and age. 2 days later the holiday will be resold so there is no cost to anybody. They are refusing to cancel to make money for themselves.

The salesman kept me the phone for ages and he himself was lovely however not once were these cancellation terms mentioned to me in the phone call when I booked.

With any holiday company you lose your deposit 2 days after booking. Understandably a few weeks before or six weeks before. I booked in March and cancelled 2 days later for a holiday that was 13 weeks away!!

Spread the word to anybody who is looking for holidays not to go near this company!!! I normally book with on the beach and have booked with them they just did not have the hotel I wanted at the time.

Martin was very helpful in organising our trip to Portugal. He helped us to find a suitable resort to meet our needs and talked us through the booking process each step of the way over the phone. Follow up documents arrived promptly

So far so good, holiday booked (no pain there) deposit paid (a little pain there) confirmation from SAM within the hour. The most pleasant of ladies, who confirmed our flights and times with our extra leg room, our hotel, accommodation and board. That time between booking and confirmation can be very stressful, but Sam was on the ball, very pleasant and understanding of my requirements including my hearing impairment.
Looking forward to receiving my confirmation email soon. Cheers

There was good and bad. In regards to there service I had no issues, they gave me all the information I needed. It was all upfront.

However the flights were delayed. On the way there and the way back. Unhappy with that, especially as I was travelling with two kids!
