I tried to cancel the item I ordered as I realised it was just a piece of plastic for £40. They avoided doing that. It finally arrived and then their awful returns 'policy' kicked in. Offering small discounts to keep it or go through the hassle and expense of shipping to China. They kept this dance going for a while. I did receive a partial 20% refund and gave the item to a charity shop. The worst experience I've had for a very long time.

Similar experience to the other negative reviews. Poor quality and unfair return policy. I was asked to ship the item back to China at my own cost. Avoid.

I gave one star because I could not give any less. This company is a scam. I was not sent the item as described. After complaning I was offered a partial 10% refund or to send it back to China. The item is not worth the postage, because it is such poor quality. The company is based in China not Scandinavia. Doubt it meets safety standards.

It is really well made and fits in beautifully in my kitchen.

All the negative reviews are correct and I wish I had done my homework. This company should be avoided at all costs. It says it’s a UK start up, but has a NL contact. It is not clear where the goods actually come from. The delivery takes for ages and the product comes with no information at all. It is very suspicious. The product looks cheap and ugly. I suspect this company is connected to Chinese suppliers and simply pass on the order. The service is appalling, the product is terrible. I am not sure how they get away with it. I would return it, but please read the returns policy. They seem to have spent considerable time on drafting this policy. I can’t be bothered to return, particularly given the other reviews.

I ordered a wall light from Hoome. The item delivered was about half the size of the item ordered. The light is unusable due to its small size. When I complained to their customer services team they told me that the size difference had passed their quality control and that everything was fine. Not sure where I go from here.

Very long delivery time but product really good

Company advertises as based in the Netherlands, but actually based in China delivered broken and unsafe lamps, refused to refund the full money and thelreatens with high cost of the returns to China. Unfortunately use PayPal for this transaction so facing to lose our money. Don't buy from them

I used this company to order house outside lights while my house is being renovated.They are the worse it took two weeks for the lights to come in two batches at different time and the second lot where damaged.Try to get them to replace them but was met with more walls don't use them bad news.

This company is an actual scam. They sent me out a weighted blanket that was extreme poor quality nothing at all like the image and when I went to return it I need to pay to return it to China which is more than the cost of the goods in the first place. They offered me a 20% refund and said that overhead costs were too much. They couldn’t refund my order. It’s a complete scam stay away from this company at all costs. I really wish I’d read the reviews.

Scam scam scam!! Do not order from this site. Wrong item was shipped, nobody is replying from customer service about a refund (after gaslighting me trusting to say the item isn’t wrong which just made no sense) they are not based in the uk or Netherlands item came from china. Items are also not of great quality wouldn’t trust the electrics to be safe

Excellent stylish product at a great price

Delivery time is so long over a week to receive the product. Not based in UK

I bought an item that appeared to be half price (for £44). When it arrived after 2 weeks (shipped from China) it was much smaller that I had assumed, made with cheap materials, didn't have the motion sensor specified and didn't work. Hoome.uk states on it's website "Easy Return - If a product does not meet your expectations, you will get your money back immediately", which gave me a lot of assurance when I bought it as well as the fact that it had an office address in the Netherlands. However when I contacted them to return it, they said I had to ship it tracked, at my cost, to China. The tried to offer a small amount of refund and I could keep the product (that is faulty), or give me credit to spend on their website (but I suspect all of their products are very low quality).

I ordered a light from this company which states it’s a UK start up. It is not, it ships products from China.

Two weeks after ordering my light finally arrived and it was smashed! I requested a refund and they said they don’t provide refunds on defective products, which is illegal. And now they’re not responding to my emails.

Do not buy from this dodgy company. I wish I’d have seen these other reviews before I’d bought from them and will be taking action against them to ensure I get my money back.
