Appalled, replacement of front door lock, Oakdale, recommended 2022 cost £85-£125, Locks Unlock £286.
Advert mentioned no consolation fee, costs from £39, what a laugh!

Absolute rip off.
Whilst I was away. My teenage son had a problem with the front Door lock , so thought he would try and sort it out without bothering me.
He called this company without reading reviews. ( his mistake)
Ended up being way over charged for an unsatisfactory job.
I have been fobbed off on the phone by Angela saying her boss will call me back. and had no response to the emails I have sent.
I would like some money refunded to my son, or the job finished in a satisfactory way. And would also like the other parts to the £21.00 B&Q lock i was charged £125.00 for.
Pretty much the same experience as everyone else. Disgraceful.

**Do Not Use this Company at any Cost**
I am writing this on behalf of my Sister who Telford Locks-unlock and A C Locks Ltd (Engineer) CONNED her with a charge of £344 after a call out to release her from being locked in. She was very panicky and flustered called the first locksmith on google the Engineer didn't arrive as promised was sent to incorrect address. The Engineer removed the Oval shaped "Thumb Turn Cylinder Lock" tried fitting a replacement from his van that didn't work so told my sister he would have to go to his warehouse to get another as the original that he removed was discontinued and no longer available and quoted £112 for the lock. When he returned he fit a different shape lock that didn't match the lock aperture of the handle and on completion said if my sister wasn't happy with the look to change the handle herself. He charged £139 twice for lock parts and because she had to pay by Credit card charged 5% which came to £17, the total bill was £344. On their website it does not mention anything about Credit card charges/ fee apply. The next day my sister had to contact them and as she had a problem with the lock and when she contacted telford.locks-unlock.co.uk they said they could not find any details held for her on their system and said it was not them that did the work and upon being challenged by my sister they threatened her with the Police if she didn't get off the phone line. She then contacted to A C Locks Engineer via his mobile and when asked if he is returning to do a proper job he replied he wasn't. He was given Five days verbal notice to come back and if not we will approach Trading Standards.

Do not use! Called up to get an idea of pricing before I had found the reviews. They sent out someone before I had confirmed I wanted to use them. I then called to cancel but the person they sent was not informed so still turned up and got aggressive saying I should’ve called his mobile number, despite me calling the company who should’ve informed him. I’ve been warned now after using a proper locksmith that they always quote £39 but always will overcharge when they assess the issue so unless you set a cap you will pay over that. This can be seen in all of the other reviews!! They person who turned up drove their own car, was very informal and didn’t feel legitimate at all. Definitely use someone else.

Absolute SCAMMERS!!! DO NOT USE!!!! Tried to charge almost £650 for a job we’ve now been told should have cost £156 when we were locked out of our house at night!! Ended up paying almost £450 for a temporary PART lock (not the correct one for our door)! They wanted another £200 to come back another day to fit the correct lock! Felt very pressurised and vulnerable, especially with young children present!

I wish I'd read the reviews on here before making the call. I was locked out and in a rush to get to the airport. Time was limited and my options very few, if I wasn't in rush I'd taken more time to choose.

As many have said on this post DO NOT USE! They are scamers, I asked how much was the work before he had started. Was ignoring me and just started drilling the lock quoting numbers say £39 call out charge and £140 for the work.
As I was now getting distracted by my friends to hurry in the car as we were becoming late for our flight all of a sudden the price had changed and did not include a new lock.
I had no time to argue and the operative clearly took advantage.
Now the price was £309..!

Either I was going to waste more time and possibly miss our holiday or just pay and go.

Complete scam charged us £250 to open our door after being locked out with a wire through letterbox! Initially quoted £380?! To which I said I can’t afford that.. I had crying children and needed to get in and he started doing the job before I could question it, then said it’s only money to me!!?! He said in the UK you can just go to work and get another £250 in a day?!!! I am so upset and feel so ripped off and angry, email doesn’t work to complain AVOID AT ALL COSTS

They charged £35 for a call out and £69 to open the door with a steel rod through the letter box. Their website is not clear about this hidden cost.

This is a scam business, I do not understand how people can do this and just get away with it. UK Trustpilot is there nothing you can do to flag this up? Till today the manager has not call me back and they have blocked my number. A friend call them today from my address and they were willing to come out but when I call it says they do not serve my area. Please if you are thinking of using them don't. Do not be fooled by the positive reviews.

Do not use!!!! They scam you out of money for simple jobs but quote £39. Requested to speak to management no call back was ever received. Once you complain they hang up on you each time. Called from another number to be hung up on again. Company address not available so you can't write to them either.

Was told it was a £49 call out fee, however as I had a Yake lock, was told it eoyld be an additional £100 as it could take longer. 2 minutes later, he'd drilled the lock and was in. Wanted to charge £82 for a absolutely crappy cheap lock insisting it was a 7 barrel lock (although the packaging said 5) which wad supposedly superior to my Yale. I ending up refusing to pay the entire price, and was still shafted at £200. Avoid this company as they are a con.

Do not use this company. Elderly neighbour panicked and called 1st company. Call out quoted as £39.95. When he turned up , one minute of trying he said he would have to drill barrel as anti-picking lock. Price would be another £120+, then he would need another barrel which would be £25+ but couldn’t give exact price until he got it out.
I ended up calling my window fitter as cheaper to take out a window.
Had to pay call out fee which had increased by £10. Paid by bank transfer and the bank account details do not match the business account name- probably went to a personal account.
Man passed the phone to me to speak to the office lady who tried her best to get him to sort it and they would come down on price!!
Total rogue company who get away with it as people are out in a vulnerable position

We lost our key 1 month ago and had to call o Locksmith, arrived in less than 20 minutes.
Chris introduced Himself, asked us what happened, kindly asked about ID to proff adress, than he explained to me and my Husband that He will try to pick the door, and if he is gonna be able to open it by picking, it will cost us just 49£. And that the payment can be made by Card, Cash or Bank transfer.
No more than about 7 minutes, the door was Open.
We will definitely call again if needed and Recommend it to everyone.

Avoid this company at all cost!
They come and unlock your lock without asking for proof of address . What concerns me is that anyone who wants to burgle your property can contact this “cowboys” to gain entrance into your place!

Got quoted £49 key stuck in door so locked out. Arrived promptly however then started to say the job would actually cost £220, when we challenged this the price dropped to £180 then again, he then said what is the best price you can do! Surely it should be a standard price for everyone not haggling rip off. Luckily my partner was firm and knew from other quotes it should be between £70 and £90. He then did the job for £80 which I’m sure if it really was £220 he’d never have done as the company would be out of pocket. Absolutely disgusting, hate to think if someone elderly or a woman on her own would probably be bullied into paying it out of desperation. Just half we stood our ground!

Update: went to get a key cut and got told that it was an old key and they had used an old lock most likely that they had taken off someone else’s door!! The scary thing is that we got told it is likely they’ve kept the spare key as they only gave us one so we need to get the lock changed asap before they attempt to return.

Guy turned up more than half an hour late. Charged me VAT when I was not told about this initially. Did not provide a receipt. I suspect the guy who came out was the Boss but he kept on saying call the office. There e-mail does not work & after several polite calls to their office, they blocked my number.

Anti snap lock packed up on the front door. Called them, within 30 mins they come up. Advised me of the prices and was fixed within 20 mins. Yes, I paid more than the call out fee as extra work was needed. Good customer service would use again
