I was trying to call my local locksmiths and somehow (thanks google dialling on android?) got these guys by accident. What a nightmare. Despite me saying I was 5 minutes from their premises (thinking they were local) they essentially lied about who they were.
The Good: they came promptly (even though I advised it was not urgent) and removed the faulty lock quickly (less than 10 minutes).
The Bad: they advised me that the new latch was very good quality and they did not mark up priced (turns out I could by one for about £30 and they charged £128!)
When they gave me the price they did not indicate that this did not include labour and so added another £45. All in it was £266 for something that was not urgent and should have cost £75-£90. It took him 47 minutes. Please save yourself the headache and never use them!!

Complete rip off, they overcharge massively, was £300 when I was locked out of my house. Had basically started before I could even agree to it. Would have been £150 if they didn't have to replace the lock.

Last week I had a locksmith out at 10pm emergency out of hours and they charged £95 for the exact same service.

fee was maybe a bit high but otherwise ok, having seen some other reviews I think some have overreacted but there is a little cause for concern.

Called them as we were locked out. We had a key, but the key was in the door on the other side. They quoted £49 and arrived quickly. As soon as he came he said £89 to drill the lock, I said I’ve looked online & should be possible to push the key out and he said it wasn’t. ( I’ve since has this confirmed by a proper locksmith as untrue). Also, he said £49 was a simple job, eg using a card to open the door! Who on earth has a lock that can be opened with a credit card???
After drilling the lock he asked for another £125.00 to replace it, we said no way. We paid the £89, no receipt.
I work with the local council and will be raising this with a friend who works for trading standards. This is an out and out con preying on desperate people and they’re not proper locksmiths either.

My wife's grandma need her door opening and eventually a new lock putting in. They charged £500+. Absolutely disgusting. They've taken advantage of an old women for as much money as they can. DO NOT USE!! They'll fit it with a £30 wickes lock and charge you extortionate amounts. How they're getting away with this is crazy.

Do not touch this company! They are vagabonds! Very intimidating, forceful, liars, they will take your eye balls out and come back for the sockets! They rampage through your house then pull out a random figure of £412 to fix a lock!

Clearly not local despite advertising and call description. Then Double cost of local firms and excuses made as to why took 1hr 30 mins to arrive rather than 30mins as told over phone.

So the locking mechanism collapsed in my door so called these to come to open up. They took my details and said someone would be with me in 30 min. 2 mins later the guy who was coming called and told me he would be there in 30 mins too. While waiting I checked the reviews on here and got worried as they aren't good but I decided to wait anyway. The guy arrived on time , really friendly explained to me what had happened. Checked my other doors to see if there was a cheaper way of gaining access but unfortunately not. He told me the price up front nothing was hidden and was very genuine. So I thought I would write a review on here to show that it's not all bad, sometimes people just don't want to pay for something that they hadn't planned to happen, but everyone knows that a locksmith is expensive anyway surely. I thought it was a reasonable price and the Romanian man that came to me was polite, on time and very helpful and genuine. Will use again

Lied about prices. I was quoted 130 when the guy arrived. Then after he drilled a hole in my door, he told me I needed to pay for the lock - which was an extra 100. Not transparent with prices because no one would pay them if they were. Tricked into paying a huge amount. Called them to complain and they hung up on me. Do NOT use.

Absolute Rip Off merchant who wasn’t up front with costs.

AVOID! Complete scam. Cheap call out fee, was quoted £47. However this was made up. The issue was that the door wouldn’t open but it wasn’t locked, and the door wouldn’t lock either. I knew the lock had dropped as it had done this before and the previous guy charged £60 for a new lock and call out but I have lost his number unfortunately. Anyway a guy turned up in his car, told us it would be £170 to break open the door, replace the lock and for the call out too. We queried this as the initial call out quote was £47 so then it somehow went to £170 just to add a lock change…. He knocked the price down to £150 which was still extremely questionable but what can you do… He then couldn’t open the door after drilling the handle and lock off so he used some sort of shovel to pry open the door. He then proceeded to remove the full door mechanism and said he couldn’t fix or replace the lock as it was the mechanism. And that would be £350 however he didn’t have the parts and couldn’t get any until tomorrow so the door would be left insecure overnight with no handle, mechanism or lock. The language barrier was very hard to deal with and we had to pay £120 in the end for him to leave us with a door with no handle or mechanism. Pretty sure if we agreed to the £350 he would’ve wanted it there and then and then probably wouldn’t turn up the next day…. AVOID at all costs. I did ring another locksmith who said this has become increasingly common recently and this company has been doing the rounds scamming lots of people.

They randomly make up prices and only tell you its another £145 for a new lock after removing the old one.

Charged my 82 year old mother £500 for changing a front door lock that so say cost £300 but looks more like a basic about £30 lock the same as was there before ! Should be ashamed of themselves taking advantage of vulnerable elderly people ! Email address complaint bounced back. No reply to any other attempt to contact. Will be reporting to trading standards. DO NOT USE ! !

Wish I’d read the other reviews first. Charged £267 for a simple lock change. Was panicking and these guys could get me back in my house ASAP so went through with it. But never again am I using them. Will try and get a refund but it’s unlikely.

Appalling service.
Pro bilock services were sent to my house, for 20 minutes work
£616.00 was charged.
Thay opened the front door, changed gearbox with dead bolt, cost in screwfix £50.00 to £60.00.
Changed key cylinder lock, cost in screwfix £10.00 to £20.00.
£80.00 max for the parts.
£536 Labour cost !.
How can they justify this extortionate cost.
Have tried to contact this company without success, they have bĺocked my mobile number.

I would have put minus if possible service appalling I finished work this morning only to get home & find I couldn’t get in. I phoned this company who stated they would arrive by 10.30 despite numerous calls to ask where they were. Still had not arrived by 11.30. Did not manage my expectations & continually lied about where they were & how long they would take complete lie about turn around times would not recommend them to anyone.

Mine is 100% minus Star. Our new Yale lock had broken and prevented us from getting in. This lock we fitted only 3 weeks previous. It was clear to us it had to be drilled to get in. Called Lock-Unlock and they came within 45 minutes. The fitter with a foreign accent gave us quotes and we opted for the £180 top security lock. He drilled out the broken lock and fitted the replacement and gave us 3 keys and charged us and we paid by debit card £398. We have since found the lock he fitted we could have bought for £35 from Wickes. We have emailed the company for a refund and an invoice because so far no invoice has been sent to us. The card receipt was by phone. Reading other reviews it does seem we too have been ripped off. A company taking advantage of a difficult situation and us being pensioners with serious health issues does show how low the operation they provide is toward their customers. DO NOT USE THEM

Door was not locking properly, says needs Multilock case replaced asking crazy price near 300 pound. Then mention call out charge of 49 pound too. Did not go ahead with job. Avoid at all cost.

I should have took my time before calling this particular company, and alarm bells should have rung when the chap turned up in just a car. His explanation of what the issue was, was complete rubbish, as all that had happened was a guest had left a key in the lock on the inside preventing the lock from working. He told us the lock was broken and the door was double locked. It’s not that type of mechanism. He got us indoors, thankfully, but at a ridiculous price and left us with a door lock that doesn’t function as it should because, I believe, he did something wrong with the old lock removal and new lock installation. Never again and avoid like the plague.

Legalized extortion. Please DO NOT USE. They have a low call out price and then the fees escalate. Call out was £49. To look at the door it increased to £100 and then to actually do something he charged a further £48. And then he tried to charge a further £29. I'm convinced they make the fees up as they go along. We were desperate at the time but we got stung. I feel so annoyed.
