Made in China and Vietnam
First I called in to ask about status tax relief and was told to email my card with order number and they would credit me back the monies. Got an email that said it was only to those on reserves. That wasn't explained in the phone call prior to my order or I wouldn't have placed the order. However, they did reimburse me the taxes. Customer service could be better for sure. Claim to be indigenous company helping indigenous.. So I was disappointed that mukluks are from Vietnam and hats are from China. Some designs are from non indigenous artists. Can't return items as all sales are final. Would never buy anything else from this company. Didn't even want to give them a one star.
Don't spend your hard working money on these boots.
I spent over $300 for my boots. They started falling apart after 2 years. I don't wear them in the rain, in the sleet. I take very good care of my boots and I even protect them. I contact customer support and they will not help me whatsoever. How very disappointed. I will never buy a pair ever again.
Excuses & Condescension
In Oct.2022, I ordered a pair of Snowy Owl [$250] waterproof Mukluks, in size 10. The fit was so tight, I couldn't even wear socks. So, I asked for their free return shipping label. I didn't receive one. I waited and waited. I wrote to ask, worried that the return deadline might pass. I was informed that UPS was having 'return label issues" and that it would be a while, but "not to worry" because the return deadline had been extended thru Dec. In Dec. I wrote again, requesting a return label, and was told there was still a return label issue but that the deadline had been extended until Jan. 31. I said I really wanted to return them because I wanted my money back. I was told to "be patient". I responded it wasn't a matter of patience, the company had gotten the $ for the boots, and now it was the holidays and I could use that money. They said they understood but that it would still be a while. In early Jan. I wrote to ask again about the "free return" shipping label & was told it had been sent to me *4* times already [what?!?], but they would try to send it a-gain. Since I had never received one, that was a surprise. Like it was a chore, they said they would send it to me. I responded that I expected better & was given a lecture by the Customer Service person on my WRONG use of the word "Native". Since I am a Native woman, I was pretty offended. I was sent the label. I returned the boots in early Jan. by UPS. But no acknowledgement by the Manitoba of the return and NO REFUND. Two hundred & fifty US dollars may not be a lot of money to them, but it is to me, on top of being offended by the condescending lecture on how I am supposed to identify.
Disappointing. Never again.
I first bought a pair of manitobahs back in 2008 and loved them: I decided to ask for the tipis this year for Christmas and see that they’re made in Vietnam…when did that happen? The first pair I ordered didn’t fit so I paid $14 in shipping fees to buy & return them… I reordered in a different size, another $7, and the fur arrived damaged! Very disappointing. It is spotty and shows a cheap white underlay. I didn’t feel like paying ANOTHER $7 dollars (totalling $24 at this point) to return them again…so I decided to cut my losses and keep them as is. I took a photo and emailed the company. No reply…it’s been 3 weeks… puts a bad taste in my mouth all around. I will no longer support this company.

The company markets itself as if the boots/ footwear is made in Canada. When I received my boots, I saw that they were made in Vietnam…so I returned them. It also took them way too long to issue my refund. It’s like Tim Hortons ( owned by Brazilian company ) by deceivingly markets itself as Canadian. It’s fine if you want to have a “ethical “ factory in Vietnam, but be transparent… very disappointed. The customer service was not good either. Thanks for reading!
Absolutely beautiful boots
Absolutely beautiful boots, very well made and comfortable, and so reasonably priced that I could get a few pairs, instead of just one.
I highly recommend!!! And will be purchasing more.
Very poor customer service, and quality lacking
The mukluks that I bought are beautiful, but I won't be purchasing from this company again as they do not stand behind their products. After only a week of wear, one of the pompoms fell off. I contacted customer service via chat, and was told that they don't do repairs, and that I should take it to a cobbler to have it fixed (at my own cost). Um, what? I said that I wasn't satisfied with that response, so the agent said she'd check with her supervisor. When she came back online, she said that actually they were really easy to fix, and explained how I could do it. She said she'd send me replacement pom-poms. I was happy with this solution, and waited for the pom-poms to arrive. And waited. And waited. After a few weeks, I contacted Customer Service again via chat. The agent looked into my account, and said that she could see that they were "requested". Then sent me a cut-and-paste that Canada Post used early on in the pandemic about high package volumes, maintaining distancing in plants that weren't built for it etc as a way to explain the delay (Canada Post doesn't even have that on their website any more!). I said that no, that is not the reason, I have had no problems in the last several months with any other Canada Post deliveries. I asked the agent to please check if the pom-poms had actually been sent out, or just requested. When she returned, she stated "They were sent out". Nothing for me to do but wait some more. Imagine my surprise when a FedEx packaged with the pom-poms arrived two days later (mailed two days prior). I appreciate it, but I really didn't like how the agent tried to pretend like they had been sent and it was Canada Post's fault. Why else wouldn't she have told me they were sending them? Anyway, I opened the package, and yes, there were pom-poms in it -- but they were real fur, not fake! As I mentioned, I don't mind the look of the fake fur at all, and I also don't mind the look of the real fur; but not together! They really do look different. I know that I could contact Customer Service yet again, but honestly, I'm just done. It's been abysmal the last two times, why subject myself to that again. I'm not sure what I'll do to reattach the pom-pom that fell off (thank goodness I still have it), but Manitobah Mukluks customer service worked very hard to make it not their problem. I would be even more upset if this was an issue with a key component of the mukluk that prevented me from wearing them, which is why I won't be purchasing from them again, and strongly recommending that others avoid as well. If you do end up needing to contact Customer Service via chat, I recommend screenshotting the conversation as it doesn't have an "e-mail chat to me" option. This is what I did, and I'm glad I have it to show people. Email would be a good option too.
Manitobah has excellent footwear
Manitobah has warm, comfortable, and beautiful boots and shoes. I am grateful for them and am asked regularly where I got the beautiful boots. These are not meant to be cheap knock offs, but support indigenous folks.

Bought a pair of boots based on a blog’s recommendation, as I needed winter boots to prevent constant slipping and falling. The ordering process is easy - they have no issue taking money.
The issue is that for some reason I am being blocked online from submitting a refund form. However, I triple checked that my item was NOT final sale before purchasing. Therefore, I require intervention from someone working in the company.
But I’ve been attempting to email and call them consistently to get a refund because my boots are too large, and there is zero response. The phone number they provide works, but no one answers.
I honestly don’t understand how they can run a business nowadays with such terrible service.

the product is cute but their customer service is terrible. I opened my new boots for Christmas and unfortunately the dog took them out and ripped some of the fur. I offered to send them back and pay for a repair but apparently COVID also means that they company can not do any repairs. So I guess that means no returns either. Very disappointed in this company. They did offer me a coupon but since they don't sell one boot it was of no use. Total lazy service.
Manitobah did not refund-lost money. beware.
I ordered two pairs of boots from this company 11/18/22. They were no where near a size 10 way too small. (I’m usually a size 8.5 too). I had planned on returning and repurchasing a larger size but no one would answer a simple sizing question for me. I asked to initiate a return for receiving their “return paperwork” which took WEEKS because no one responds. Then when I FINALLY got my “returns” paperwork, I sent these expensive boots back to their company and they literally never responded to me. I paid $333 for these boots and when I returned them I got no response no acknowledgement so now I’m out $333. I tried sending screen shots of the proof of delivery to their warehouse and still absolutely no response. They don’t answer the phone. I wanted to support their business, but now I’ve lost $333 with no merchandise. I was considering repurchasing a larger size but now no way would I buy anything from them. Terrible customer service and sporadic responses if you’re lucky enough to get a response. They stole my money! Last time I try to support a business for their cause. SMH.
Purchased A LOT of gifts for Christmas
Purchased A LOT of gifts for Christmas. Sadly for one item I cannot remember where I put the gift receipt. Too bad for me. It’s past 30 days (December 28 and I purchased in store November 13). Everything intact and perfect except for the receipt. My credit card charges aren't good enough evidence. So I guess I have mitts that fit no one. And no matter how beautiful the product is - I’m done with this company. Forever. And forever is a very long time. Lol. But not lol.
Made in Vietnam
Made in Vietnam! And fake fur exept the insole. Very dissapointet.

This company will not respond to requests for return of merchandise. Going on two weeks, no response.
Terrible customer service. You will never get your order, either.
I would give 0 stars if that were an option. You can order, but you'll never recieve your boots. Call/message/email customer service and you'll never get the full story if you get any reply at all. I "bought" a pair of boots from their site almost a month ago, they never shipped. I was just told this morning they are sold out and I'll be returning a refund. No one will answer the phone, and they cut me off of the virtual chat before I even got to all any questions regarding what happened. Poor customer service. I will never make an effort to support this company again. I did so much research, and wanted to give my money to an Indigenous company... guess I made a poor decision.
Excellent craftsmanship, long lasting quality and comfort
I’ve had one pair of Snowy Owl winter boots that I wore 5 months straight here in Maine and I’m on season two and they’re still in excellent shape, comfortable and I love them. I just ordered two pairs of men’s mocs for christmas gifts and a pair of multi season ankle high booties. Again they are more well made and more perfect than I could have hoped. Truly excellent craftsmanship and excellent products!
nothing good about Manitobah Mukluks
Literally 0 cool or interesting options for Male Mukluks.
what a huge disappointment
Over Three Years and STILL HAPPY!
I have had my MukLuks for over three years now...I LIVE IN THEM! I bought some moccasins for around the house because I always have cold feet. PROBLEM SOLVED! They are so comfortable and have stayed in pristine condition over the years. I also love that I am supporting a Canadian industry! The fit is great (I am a woman's 7.5) and has stayed great. The fur lining is spectacular and toasty but my feet don't get sweaty - with or without socks. GREAT product.

2 lined moccasins which fit perfectly & are comfy & 1 short wrap winter boot + 1extra pair of sheep skin insoles. was very impressed with quality.
Based on my experiences I’m satisfied,
But after reading the fine print & the reviews I will do further research on the company before I purchase anything else. made in china?
Made in Vietnam?
Not the vision I envisioned, but from a business & product standpoint—- most companies do this because of demand I was pleased to read on their website that The artists reap the benefits of their collections.
Indigenous to Vietnam!
Indigenous to Vietnam. What a rip-off everything on the website is all about native made. Like many other buyers, I feel ripped. Might as well be ordering from Amazon
