Prior to joining the MYM Club, I had tried a few different diets/health regimes in order to both lose weight and curb the symptoms of the menopause. I had gradually gained weight over the previous 4 years and had put it down to a somewhat sedentary lifestyle. As a headteacher, I had a long drive to and from work, spent a lot of time at a computer and had limited exercise during the day. Nevertheless, I was still completing an hour of cross training before I left for work each day and oftentimes walking our dogs. However, nothing seemed to to help with either the symptoms or the weight loss. When I retired from education and took up dog walking, I was hopeful that I would see some progress. Unfortunately, due to covering a huge area, I spent more time in the car picking up and dropping off my dogs than walking! I was overweight, constantly tired, unable to sleep and suffering from hot flashes and anxiety. It was at this point that I contacted Dean and started the MYM Club 21 week programme.
From the start, Dean put me at ease as I explained that accountability was something that I knew would help me stay on track. I truly believe that the coaching phone calls and constant advice have been what has made a real difference. The expertise that Dean was able to offer, both on nutrition and exercise, benefitted me greatly. Watching the live streams on nutrition, keeping on track and tips on meditation, mindfulness and reading really helped me. I feel that I have learned so much about what works for me because of the programme and this means that I am now able to apply this knowledge daily helping me to maintain weight loss and keeping my general wellbeing in check.in addition, I have learned that an holistic approach is essential in order to master and live with the menopause. Since joining the MYM Club, many of my menopausal symptoms have either disappeared or become much easier to live with. A great example of this for me was my sleep pattern. I would often not be able to sleep until 2 or 3 in the morning, despite going to bed at a reasonable hour. I am now sleeping well, and the hot flashes that would wake me up when I finally did get to sleep have almost vanished.
In conclusion, I would strongly recommend the MYM Club. I can honestly say that the constant support of Dean, Viola and the MYM community have not only helped me lose the weight that had steadily crept on over the last few years, but have also helped me regain my confidence in so many ways. Having completed the programme, I now feel that, with the tools I have been given, I can continue the journey without fearing that weight will creep back on. I have been given a toolkit to manage the menopause, and for that I am eternally grateful.
When I started with the MYM club, I didn’t think this was possible. In fact, I said I wanted to lose 30 kilos but that I’d be impressed with 10. I smashed through my 10 kilos in 9 weeks.
I was 100kg – yes, 100! It was a challenging and difficult day at the start of this journey. Diets didn’t work and made me miserable because they impacted my life – eating with my family, eating out, enjoying a drink.
Dean told me that I shouldn’t diet. He also told me I should continue to live my life and do what made me happy. What a revelation!
After 21 weeks, I have lost 20kg. I am continuing with my journey.
Dean wasn’t kidding, it isn’t a diet. During the last 21 weeks I have eaten:
· Full English Breakfasts.
· Lovely restaurant meals.
· Crisps and nuts
· Cheese
· Big Mac
I have drunk
· Plenty Gin
· Lager
· Cocktails
· Wine and champagne.
I have been on nights out, meals out, a wedding, 3 weeks holiday.
Yes, of course I haven’t consumed these things every day, but I have eaten things I like every …. single…. day.
MYM has given me more energy, better sleep – and has been there for me when I wasn’t feeling my best.
I am so grateful I invested in myself.
Thanks MYM!!
Before I started with the MYM Club I was miserable within myself, the way I looked, the way I felt and many other Menopause symptoms. I was suffering especially with the quality of my sleep were all getting me down.
Joining the MYM Club gave me direct access to the coaches with daily support for all my needs and being part of a group where other females were on the same path helped me to know success was in sight.
I hit my goal weight in no time and far exceeded my expectations. The comfort of knowing I wasn't going through this alone was amazing. I was overjoyed that I put myself first and taken the leap of faith in becoming part of this lovely group of people.
For anybody reading this, I highly recommend you join this group because it only took me 15 weeks and I had reached my goal but I carried on until week 21 and I was literally on cloud 9 and over 2 stone lighter.
After years of endless diets that work short term only, I joined the MYM Club last year Dean was honest & open from the start, we initially had a telephone video chat, Dean is really easy to talk to no hard sell he really is interested in you and your eating patterns lifestyle and then talks about how the MYM Club can help, he is very knowledgable I was impressed by this and how much I could eat of the right foods and food I did not think I could have !! My goal was 3 stone which in my mind was never going to happen from past experiences, but Dean gave me the right tools your also supported by the great network of ladies that belong to the MYM Club on FB, with lots of videos and recipes, Dean also contacts you by a video chat once a week and any other support I needed during that week especially if I was struggling he was always able to help and talk me through what I could do, I increased my exercise I looked at food portions which really took restraint but I do it now without even thinking! I am currently 7lb away from goal could not be happier dropped 2 dress sizes my body shape looks great to what it was, I feel healthier and more confident! The other important thing is I have not gone back to my old ways which in the past I would have, now I have been taught to eat properly & healthily with a massive thanks to Dean this would not have been possible, I am a much happier healthier person and will continue to be so! A big thank you to Dean for supporting me through my sometimes up & down journey!!
My MYM Club Journey
At the beginning of the year, I was so unhappy. I was fatter than I had ever been and after years of trying every diet under the sun, I was desperate. If I did manage to lose any weight, I always put it back on again (and some more). I thought I understood about nutrition and I thought I knew how to eat healthily and I had convinced myself that this weigh gain was simply as a result of menopause. I must admit, when I read about The MYM club, I thought it was another ‘get rich quick’ scheme at the expense of vulnerable, desperate, over weight women. However, I had tried everything else, so I booked in a call with Dean. He was so friendly and knowledgeable and immediately put me at ease without a hard sell. He asked me how much weight I would like to lose and I jokingly said 3 stone (secretly being pleased with a stone if I’m honest!). During my first week I delved into many of the available guides and videos available through the website. These were so helpful to get my head in the right space. No other diet plan has ever explained why to follow their plan or how it works, but in the MYM club all my questions were answered. It wasn’t generic, it was tailored to me. My weekly coaching sessions with Dean were informal and informative. He included me in all the decisions I needed to make to lose weight. I have not been on a diet, I have been on a journey to understand how food affects my body. I have also made friends along the way. The other ladies in the group are so supportive of each other. Your successes are celebrated by everyone. In 21 weeks I have lost 2 stone 10 lbs. I’m confident that the remaining 3 lbs will be gone in the next two weeks. Not only this, I am much happier and confident in my own body. I do have to buy a new wardrobe of clothes in the next 2 sizes down, but this is a small price to pay! I would recommend this programme to anyone who feels like they will never lose weight.
What a wonderful journey with MYM club. Started at 72kg thinking I would not lose anything. After the 7 day challenge I had lost one and half kg. This is for me. This was and still is a new lifestyle for me and after 21weeks I hit my goal of 62kg. Two years later I’m still here at 62kg. This is not a diet it works. Thanks to MYM team. Nikki Jones
I started my journey with MYM a few years ago now. I had been through a horrible marriage and divorce and come out of it at 99.9kilos. Never hit the 100. LOL.
I was apprehensive about spending the money. They helped me workout my priorities and payment options. It was money so well spent.
I started with the 7 day challenge and lost about 10kilos. I was ecstatic with that. I had learnt a great deal but felt that the weekly coaching over the phone was a way to keep me honest with myself.
Changing the way i looked at food was easy with the guidance. I took photos of everything I ate and posted it on Facebook. Writing up my food diary also a reality check and to begin with it was to please Viola, then it became an honesty thing for me but became a way of assessing what works for me.
I made up so many recipes and enjoyed the challenge of making meals with enough protein combined with delicious vegetable choices.
I'll be honest, i had a relapse as life's struggles weighed heavily on me, but returned to the principles that Dean instilled in me and listened to his 'lives' to get me back on track.
I now weigh 72kg.....A very comfortable size for my height of 179cm.
Thank you forever to Viola and Dean....my saviours. I will always be greatful to them for their continued support and encouragement that has lead me to my own self confidence.
MYM Program
The MYM program can give you the tools to stick to or to come back to time & again. You get results every time if you are committed to yourself. My tip is to keep it simple - protein & veges: stir fry, bake or steamed with fresh herbs. Plenty of water. Light on fruit but the kind high in fibre like apples. Allow time between meals - kind of like fasting - gives your body time to digest & process. Get moving - however it has to fit into your lifestyle - doesn’t have to be the gym, could be walking around your block a couple of times every day as you gain confidence.
Find your mojo to get started & committed, be kind to yourself & ask for help when you need - the MYM team are very supportive!
I participated in 2018 & Dean still checks in from time to time.
I joined MYM via the 7 Day Challenge a few years ago. I was suffering fairly standard menopause symptoms, mainly belly fat, lethargy, brain fog, and sleep issues. I was amazed to lose 2 kgs in that first week and continued with the 21 week challenge.
Wow, I didn’t just lose weight, but started to feel great within just a few days. I had more energy, slept better and the other symptoms started to diminish.
It took me a bit more than the 21 weeks, but I did lose 13 kgs.
The knowledge and support from Dean and the team and the other ladies in the group was invaluable, and fun!
The best part are the habits the programme instils – fitness, nutrition, intermittent fasting, drinking water. I’ve always been quite active, but the commitment to myself, and the programme meant it was easy to step up my fitness. I have never been a runner and was excited to complete a 10km event with my daughter!
Another bonus of the habits is they help towards managing stress and dealing with life in general – particularly during these covid years.
MYM for life
I have just completed my 21 week program with the MYM club and I’m so pleased to have lost 1st 5 pounds. My target originally was 1st! I feel so much better both physically and mentally and have learnt so much along the way. I loved the accountability aspect and the one to coaching calls plus all of the support from within the MYM club. Special thanks to Dean, my coach for helping me achieve my goals. Oops the review should be in my name Beverley Saunders as I did the program, not my husband 😂
I have recently completed the MYM 28 day drop a dress size.
To say this has changed the way I eat is only a small part of it. I've learned what I should be eating daily, have never felt hungry and often don't eat the whole quota I'm "allowed"
Dean and viola were there every step of the way, giving advice, answering my never ending questions and supporting the whole group.
It was the kick start I needed. I lost 11lbs in the 28 days and inches off my whole body. I feel more energised and realise that I can lose weight whilst going through menopause. I tried numerous diets before and none worked for me. MYM club has changed my life and I feel more like my old self.
I started my MYM journey in February 2021 and I can honestly say it's the single best investment I have made for myself in years. I was perimenopause, working from home and had a back problem that needed a surgeon to deal with and could hardly move. I suffered constant hot flushes and was not having a good time.I was the heaviest I had ever been and really unhappy. My main motivation for contacting Dean was my health. I couldn't get my back fixed because of Covid but reckoned if there was less of me for my back to support then that must be helpful. I also have an amazing daughter and 3 granddaughters that I want to stick around for. I started my journey weighing 11st 7½ lbs and I was horrified but I set myself a target of losing 2 and ½st. By the end of my 21 weeks I had made it to 8st 13lbs and I've kept it off. In fact I've lost another 5lbs. But it's not all about the weight or how I look. It's about the energy I have and the good food habits that are firmly entrenched in my brain. I've learned that no food is out of bounds and how to get back on track when I've over indulged for a special occasion ( or just because I wanted to) I put on 6lbs over Christmas and New Year and had lost it 2 weeks later. My hot flushes are practically non existent and I just feel better all round. I did all of this without excersising because of my back but now that it's been fixed I'm definitely moving more.
I honestly can't recommend the MYM club enough. You are absolutely worth the investment and you won't regret it.
I started my journey with the MYM club over 21 weeks ago. At this point in time I was at my lowest. My weight had elevated to over 11 stone and I felt like I had every symptom of peri menopause. This was a time when I stopped socialising because I hated dressing up to go out as most of my clothes didn’t fit or I hated the way they looked on me. I had tried every diet going for the last two years with no success, my body ached all over and I had no motivation at all. It was an effort to do anything at all, you could say I had sort of given up. While looking through master your menopause I kept seeing messages about wanting to loose weight. I was a bit dubious at first but then I thought, why not I have nothing to loose. After making contact I was still a bit hesitant and thought can I really afford this, will I be wasting my time, but, most importantly, will it work. After discussing it with my family, who thought I had already lost the plot, they convinced me to have a go as I had tried every other diet to no avail and maybe this diet would be the one. Well, they were right after my first weigh in I had lost a couple of pounds. Well, what a wonderful feeling it was, after two years of trying to loose weight something finally happened. I didn’t look back. My body doesn’t ache anymore, I have lost many symptoms of peri menopause. I am happier, healthier, more sociable, motivated and most importantly a stone and a half lighter. I would like to thank all the ladies who welcomed me to the MYM club, who have always showed great support along the way. I wish them great success on their journeys and beyond. I would also like to inform all the ladies who are thinking about joining the MYM club, stop thinking and just do it, it works. But most importantly I would like to thank Dean Chamberlain, my coach who has supported me on my journey and didn’t give up on me even though I was a pain to get in touch with. I am forever grateful to you for bringing me back to life as I was well and truly lost.
Hi Dean,
Thanks so much for the MYM group. When I joined I didn't need to lose weight per se but I needed guidance, accountability and direction. I received all of these in abundance to which I'm so grateful as today my weight is stable, I now have the tools to manage on my own. Many thanks so appreciative for all the assistance and time spent. Keep up the great work 😁
I'm a person that stopped taking care of herself, put myself last. "Dean can you imagine me doing a testimonial?" With all my craziness, look at my life!"
We all have a back story, this is mine. I spoke to Dean after our 1st lockdown, a much longer one soon followed. There have been 6 in total so far.
I'm a mother of 2 girls (8 &13), a dog & hubby. Can't forget him. Way back before I joined MYM I started to gain weight after my first born. I lost a great deal after a lot of work. Over 40kgs, but I never really knew the amount, because I didn't know my starting point.
I maintained it for quite some time, despite years in the hospital for my daughter. She had been deathly ill. 5 years of therapists, specialists & multiple diagnoses. Here's her list thus far: Pneumococcal Meningitis, compromised immune system, Stone Deaf (2 years) Mild High Functioning Autism, ADHD, speech delay, learning deficit and now slight hearing deficit.
By the time my 2nd arrived I had a breakdown. Not just from the above, but from also being my mother's caregiver. My mother's list: Rheumatoid arthritis, Stroke, Breast cancer, lupous SLE, collapsed veins & Addison's. My mother went through rehab many times, whilst managing large amounts of physical pain. It took a toll on her, and yes me too. 11 years of her fighting with me beside her. I was 20 when this began & I put my life on hold totally. That's when it all stared, and became a constant downward spiral of putting myself last.
Sadly, that chapter ended when she passed. Ultimately it was me who had to make the hard decision to turn of the machines. I'm crying writing this, I was pregnant when she passed. Her first grandchild, followed her one month later. By the time I did have a baby it had been a long 12 years. Then by my 2nd, 17 years accrued of caregiving someone with a disability. Add in post-natal depression, plus now obesity, & boom! There I was in hospital myself.
As for my youngest, her list: Severe speech delay, tremors & ADHD. Hubby's list also: Undiagnosed Asperger's & ADHD. Come to my household & watch the landmines. Now give me lockdown. Oy vey!
My list: Scoliosis/twisted spine, Osteochondritis, depression, anxiety, permanently injured ankles, weak knees & obesity. I had been attached to crutches on & off for decades. (I was meant to be in a wheelchair, but defied the specialists.)
I began by dealing with my mental health. For those on that ride too, this will be an ongoing lifelong commitment. That is why I'm not shying away from the topic. Anyway now I'm trying to lose weight from my 2nd child. You know this story, I tried everything bar the weird cabbage diet. All I could lose was 7kg, fluctuating up & down.
Decades of loathing myself & the world, here I am talking honestly with Dean. "Dean can you imagine me doing a testimonial? With all my craziness? Look at my life!" The more I said, the more I knew I had already decided. No more putting me on hold. "Dean can you seriously imagine? Are you ready to take me on? I'm a lot, I know that." Dean laughed "Bring it!"
I nearly convinced myself out of it. It was laughable. But then I looked back at all the above, every time someone told me that I couldn't help my mother, my daughters. I did despite the odds. I had given them my stubbornness & defiance. Then reminded myself, hey I'm supposed to be in a wheelchair. I've been off crutches for 6 years. I have got this, my turn. It wasn't ludicrous. It was just time!
Sure I fell off the wagon. Come on, I'm human. But I was a size 20. But this isn't just about the difference you can see. MYM allowed me to discuss a range of things even the taboo. Now don't get me wrong, this isn't a clinical therapy group. But the fact that this a group of people who care. No matter successful or not, or how long it takes. That's what makes MYM so special.
I knew beginning this that I would learn something regardless. I haven't reached my goal weight yet. But I'm excited about getting there. That's the difference, I dreaded not succeeding, now I know I will. Whenever that may be. I don't just define my success by the scales. It's also about getting me back body & soul. (I know it sounds cliché, but it's true for me.)
Remembering my household, my injuries & mental health. Credit shared with my physio, shrink and now the MYM angels. Thank you!
My new list: Started 91kg now 76kg. Size 20 - 12. 124cm of fat lost (still going.) From back spasm & completely bed ridden to jogging. Mood swings gone. Hot sweats diminished drastically. All I need is to break the last barrier, size 10. Then I'm maintaining.
I'm a person that sopped taking care of herself. I had put myself last. "Dean can you imagine me doing a testimonial? I mean seriously? With all my craziness. Look at my life!"
Whoever you are reading this, allow yourself to imagine.
The journey through menopause so far has been interesting to say the least, add in the lockdowns due to the COVID pandemic here in the UK and things certainly went a bit pear shaped for me.
I was seeming to keep in control of the weight up to lockdown by dancing twice a week for about 2 and a half hours but that all stopped, add in furlough from work and I just couldn’t get my head around any form of exercise. Even walking our two Frenchies was hard work because my weight had increased and the lack of energy that comes with it.
My symptoms haven’t been as extreme as some ladies but the hot flushes during the day and especially on a night, disrupted sleep, an element of mood swings, general aches and pains and weight gain for me is the worst.
After not being in a gym for around 3 years, I joined a gym back in April and was training a couple of times a week with my husband. I had worked very well with a personal trainer a few years ago and in June decided to work with one of the PTs at the gym. I signed up for a couple of sessions a week to push me, keep me accountable and on track. I started eating better and results were starting to show slowly.
Then I saw the Master Your Menopause 28 day “Drop a Dress Size” Challenge and decided to give it a go. The challenge started mid-July and, in all honesty, the first week for me was a total write off but I re-set and kicked off the following week with the plan. I followed the plan, started eating better, dropped the alcohol and added in another session at the gym. By the time I finished the plan (a week behind the group), I was down 6kg in 5 weeks and had dropped a few inches in body measurements and had not had a drink of alcohol in the 28 days!
The day after the plan finished I went to Kos for 2 weeks on holiday. I felt so much better, was a lot more active swimming and walking and continued making good choices on meals. The biggest things I noticed was that I did not drink as much alcohol and I also could not eat the volume of food that I had as I had in previous years. When I came home, my PT weighed me and I’d lost another 1kg.
Because of the Challenge no more pizza and wine Friday nights. We bulk cook lots of tasty but healthy meals and freeze them, so food choices are better and easier. I’m in the gym 4 times a week, our dance class has restarted as well so over an hour and a half dancing added in. I am 10.5kg down and aiming for another 8 to 10kg by Christmas (still will need to lose another 20 – 30kg). I have noticed that reducing/changing the carbs in my diet the hot flushes are massively reduced, sleeping is getting better (only maybe awake 30 minutes a night rather than an hour) and I am generally feeling better in myself. Alcohol has taken a back seat. Saturday nights are treat meal night so we decide, very carefully what we’re going to enjoy the most and don’t worry about what it is but take the time to enjoy it and we have a couple of glasses of wine on a Saturday evening with our dinner and watching Strictly.
Nothing seemed to work for me until I joined MYM for the 7 day challenge initially and then the 21week challenge. In total I dropped 3stone/19.051 kg in weight and three dress sizes in that period of time. My main problems were the weight and hot flushes plus sleepless nights. These symptoms have dramatically improved over the time I have been a member of MYM. The support received from Dean and his team and the online interactive webinars were amazing and packed with all the info I need to succeed. If there were things I needed to find out or don’t quite understand the team and my fellow MYM members were always on hand to guide me & answer any query. I loved the a recipes available and they inspired me to try new things. This wasn’t an overnight success story it’s something I needed to commit to everyday to change my habits one a day at a time. And before i knew it I was looking in that mirror and saying yes that’s me, I’ve got myself back & feeling in control.
I joined the MYM Club in May 2019. My starting weight was 64.5 kgs. After completing the 21 weeks program, my weight dropped to 54.9kgs. My goal weight was 55kgs.
I continued to lose weight and by March 2020, my weight dropped to 52.5kgs
It’s been almost 2 years since I finished the program and I have been able to maintain my weight at 54.5kgs.
I only drink water, soda water (minimum 3 litres a day) and decaf green tea (no alcohol or soft drink), however I do eat my fare share of cakes and chocolates.
Intermittent fasting is
now something I do naturally every day.
I try to avoid carbohydrates and try to stick to eating protein and veggies, but owning a pizza shop makes this hard.
Whenever I see the weight start to creep on, I always go back to the basics of what I learnt on the MYM Club.
It’s the best thing I have ever done for myself.
I feel fantastic, plenty of energy and no aches or pains.
Thank you to the MYM Club for changing my life forever

Before I discovered MYM Club, perimenopause left me feeling fat and bloated, tired, irritable and I suffered from achy joints and reflux.
MYM Club provided a simple to follow step by step program to help me lose 10kgs, and those unwanted negative perimenopausal symptoms. There is nothing whacky or way out about the program, it just makes sense.
Through their wholistic approach I have learnt and formed good healthy habits; gained insight into why, how, what, when food affects my body; gained a supportive network of like-minded people with similar experiences, including an awesome buddy! I feel confident, free, energetic and healthier. I am still working on more weightloss but am armed with the knowledge and motivation to continue.
Thank you Dean and the team for all your encouragement, words of wisdom, knowledge and understanding. A truly life changing supportive program!

I have done the MYM program that I found through Facebook.
What I really loved was the accountability. It's a principle really meaningful to me. It helps to recognize our actions and be responsible for our decisions bad or good ones. The food diary helps with this. It's a great mirror.
The weekly call is a tool both for accountability and support.
I loved my weekly call with Viola.
