Our guide and driver were the best
Our guide and driver were the best. We were taken care of from the moment we arrived.
Aurora Borealis 2026
The trip was well organized, professional, and our leader, Eleanor, was the best in everything she did. The emphasis on the indigenous culture and environment protection was truly amazing. We've recommended you to our friends!
The Trip of a Lifetime 2/13 to 3/1 /2026
Trip to New Zealand:
Natural Habitat's guide and driver showed us, on a daily basis, natural wonders and wildlife we had never seen before from the vantage points of rain forests, high elevations, boats, and helicopters. Every day was an exciting experience. Every day the people in New Zealand brought you joy and laughter.
Our guide was spectacular
Our guide was spectacular. The trip was well planned and well-orchestrated. Good day time adventures and really great viewing facilities for seeing the northern lights.
Every trip has been a wonderful…
Every trip has been a wonderful adventure to amazing destinations! We travel with NatHab because of the care they take in designing each trip and making all of them a "trip of a lifetime". We could not have traveled to most destinations without their guidance. In addition, the guides are phenomenal and, above all, caring.

Unique small group travel with terrific naturalist guides
I have traveled to a number of amazing destinations with Natural Habitat Adventures since 2022. Nat Hab offers small group adventure travel to unique places with highly knowledgeable naturalist guides.
The Churchill Northern Lights adventure…
The Churchill Northern Lights adventure was our first with NatHab. Fantastic company. They are in the business of offering small group personalized trips and staff is there to make sure you have a blast which we did. We have zero complaints and tons of kudos. All you have to do is show up and they take care of everything else. Their guides and field staff are amazing, friendly, professional and take care of you with genuine smiles. If you are lucky enough to be with guide Katrina, field staff Madison and Adam and driver Shelley you are in for a real treat. And, yes, we saw the lights!!!!! Amazing experience. Highly recommend.
Best Tour!
Everything about the trip was well thought out and ran smoothly. We had wonderful guides and saw so much!
From the very first trip with Nathab I…
From the very first trip with Nathab I was hooked. Besides taking us to some of the most unique places in the world, they also make it an experience you will never forget. Exceptional guides, everything taken care of so you don’t need to worry, food beyond exceptional. Small groups and many of us gain lasting friendships. I cannot say enough about this company and the amazing time you will have on their trips.
Machu Picchu and the Amazon headwaters trip
This was the first time I had ever gone on a big trip with a tour company. I was very favorably impressed by the level of organization, which at times was fairly complex. My group's guide was absolutely wonderful, and exceeded my expectations in terms of his knowledge, his insightfulness, his interpersonal skills, and the way he initiated procuring me medical care when I came down with a bad cough. The staff of the boat we were on in the Amazon was also absolutely wonderful. They were efficient, cheerful, and knowledgeable. The naturalists who accompanied our excursions were great. The accommodations we had, both on the boat in the Amazon and in hotels in the Cusco-Macho Picchu portion of the trip, were charming and comfortable, and the food we had was invariably wonderful. I wasn't looking for luxury when I signed up on this trip, I was looking for adventure, but I could hardly have been more pleased.
First Class trips and guides - always exceeds our expectations
We have been traveling with Natural Habitat since 2008 and have always been amazed by the itineraries they put together and the guides they have found to lead the trips. The itineraries are extremely well thought out to avoid any crowds and the inside knowledge of the local guides is invaluable. The size of the trips is always 12 or less travelers and we have always enjoyed our traveling companions. Good food, wonderful places to stay and many laughs.
An absolutely fabulous trip
Just an absolutely fabulous trip. Every detail was perfect: from walking from the airport to the hotel the first night [5 minutes], to the interesting cloth our lunches were wrapped in [we saved it to make quilts and placemats], to the gorgeous Delfin II [gleaming wood], our many skiff rides through the tops of submerged vegetation. The river was up 35 feet and normally goes up to 40 feet.
I always wanted to take a trip on an Amazon River boat and the Delfin II bested all my expectations. My cabin had a large picture window where I could look at the jungle or across the Amazon to the jungle on the other side when we tied up. Every day I looked forward to a new towel sculpture on my bed. The air conditioning was appreciated after a hike in the jungle and worked well. The private en suite bathroom was great.
The staff took excellent care of us. In the dining room on the second deck the menu was posted with the dishes and their local ingredients. Each day the decorations were changed with local crafts being used. Any special request was filled. After hot skiff rides we were met with glasses of iced local juices. Pisco sours were available in the bar on the third deck free as well as anything else as desired at a price. The staff were always pleasant and helpful though exchanges could be amusing - I did not speak Spanish beyond the pleasantries and much of the staff had limited English.
I believe there were 20 guests. We divided in three groups for each skiff ride. The Delfin II provided a local guide who acted as a spotter in each skiff, and NatHab had two naturalists who rode with different skiffs and also spotted and described what we were seeing. I can't believe how many birds and animals we saw [I think 6 varieties of monkeys]- and pink dolphins were everywhere. The Delfin II manager also took three of us out while the rest of the group was going on a jungle walk - and he pointed out as much as his three guides. Locals love their area and know so much! The two people I was with were photographers and the shots they got were worthy of National Geographic. Our NatHab leaders led lectures on the environment we were in and created slide presentations for us. The conservation issues the area is facing were explained as well as the life of the villagers. Angel, one of the NatHab leaders, even created a special slide show at our request to show the difference in appearance of the river where we were between wet and dry season.
I especially liked seeing how the local people lived in the area. I had been to the area in the past to one of the ecolodges but this trip I learned much more about local life of people in lectures and going to ranger stations and villages. We had an afternoon at one village, and from the demonstrations there got a sense of their life. I really liked the information on local survival and meeting people who were living there. The trip provided several opportunities to do that.
I can't say enough about how wonderful our NatHab leaders were. Both were reassuring and letting us know everything was handled so we could just relax and enjoy ourselves which I did. They were always accessible to deal with any concern and resolve issues. I was particularly concerned about footing on some of the jungle hikes and they could give me clear information so I could decide if I wanted to do the hike [I was two years out from a reconstructed ankle surgery]. And they were so knowledgable - I loved soaking up what they told us, and they were happy to answer any questions.
But we also did some fun, silly things: making Pisco sours, learning to fold towels to make sculptures of people and animals, cooking demonstrations. We had fun, learned a lot, and spent time on an amazing river in a beautiful part of the world.
Magnificent Northern Light Display
The trip was amazing in many respects. The hotel in Winnipeg, the Fort Garry Hotel, is so beautiful and the accomodations were excellent. Anthony, our trip leader, was always there to stir us in the right direction and help with items that needed attention. Alex, our field specialist, was also very helpful and engaging.
But seeing the Northern Lights from the tundra could not be more magnificent. The dog sledding and snow shoeing were also very nice.
I love the museums and small shops we visited and cannot leave out Michelle, our driver. Sher was always smiling and very friendly. The trip exceeded my expectations and that rarely happens. I loved it!

Natural Habitat Adventures
Tours in North America
I have been on three separate tours with Natural Habitat Adventures to Churchill, Canada; to Alaska and the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem in the USA from 2024 to 2026. My interest is in the wildlife. On each occasion, I was totally satisfied with my experience. I was able to see a huge range of animals, plants and geographical features, especially the ones that I wanted to see. The guides were so informative and went out of their way to generously share their knowledge. In addition, the tours were extremely well organised and catered for a range of physical ability levels. The food and accommodations were outstanding. You'll never go hungry. I highly recommend their tours.
A Joy-Plus Experience!
Besides the sheer joy of experiencing the majesty of the Northern Lights, an absolutely necessary requirement of an "adventure experience" like this is feeling safe and secure. We had this 100 percent with Natural Habitat. Some of our evening viewings were met with near 60 degrees below, wind chill temps. I never felt cold. The cold weather gear was great; and the facilities at each viewing site were always warm and comfortable. We also always had a Wildlife Monitor (the guy with the gun) at each night's viewing venue, lending an additional level of safety to the overall experience.
