We have been dealing with attic rats…

We have been dealing with attic rats for a couple months. Several companies have provided quotes, etc., and some have performed service. But we still have the problem. We decided to also speak to Orkin. Big mistake. The telephone rep started in with a laundry list of fees and charges without understanding our ask, and then got argumentative and belittling. What? I hung up, and a better trained "manager" called me back 15 minutes later. Smooth talked me into making an appointment, which I did, and then I promptly cancelled it. Aggravation I already have. I need service.

Go local

I called Otkin because I had an excellent experience with them several years ago. Nothing is what it used to be, right? I had a technician scheduled for 2-4. He (Lazar, or, in Orkin, “The Pro”) called to say he was running early and we agreed that would meet at 1:45. I was there at 1:45, in the rain and day after stomach flu (not their fault, but it didn’t help). Lazar doesn’t show. At 2:15 I called the main Orkin number, a service center in in a different time zone (she asked me what time it was) and she put me on hold for several minutes before returning to tell me she didnt know what was going on. Then Lazar called me to say that he had “picked up” another job and was now running late. Having sat in the rain with the remnants of flu (I know I’m repeating myself) I told him I had been there at the time we agreed on and asked why he hadn’t called me. He said - this is kind of the punchline of this review: “People don’t show up when they say they will.” No idea what that had to do with anything, either me in the rain, referenced above, but there it is.

Maybe that’s Orkin’s new motto. I could go on about Lazar ranting at me without pausing for breath, about having to call Orkin about five times and talk to a different person each time, about how they couldn’t schedule another visit for several days - but why bother? I came home and called a local company with great reviews and they’re coming tomorrow.

There’s the motto of this review. Go local.

Please do not use their service

Please do not use their service. They charge a lot of money but provide no real help. The first visit cost us $250, and they did almost nothing — they just closed one hole and that was it. No treatment, no solution for the mice problem.

Later they asked if we wanted a monthly subscription for inspections. I clearly said no, but they still signed us up and charged us anyway. The money is non-refundable.

After they closed the hole, the mouse left, and we are sure it exited through that same hole behind the dishwasher — it was the only hole we had. However, they kept insisting the mouse came from somewhere else, which is not true.

Overall, this was a complete waste of money. Very disappointing experience. I do not recommend this service.

I have been a long time Orkin customer

I have been a long time Orkin customer. The last year they keep making changes to their scheduling program and their billing program. Several times this year their system has changed my appointment week, day and time, and only given me a couple of hours of notice (calling at 5:45 pm the day before the newly scheduled date, or texting and emailing me at 6 PM the day before and they are closed so I can't call). I have called more than once about this to get them to not make changes without contacting me first. Sometimes they reschedule from the last week of the month to the first week of the month, and a different day of the week. Then they changed their billing system a couple of months ago and it defaulted to auto pay, so my payment was deducted from my account without me making the payment online. I called and said I did not want on auto pay. They said they removed the auto pay on my account. Well, I went online to pay and it just happened again this month. I have removed my account info from their site to avoid this. However, they are making too many changes and not letting the customer know. I am very frustrated with changes being made and no notification. I do not want to keep calling them. The technician, Joe, is so professional and so nice. It has nothing to do with him. It is the office making these changes.

Orkin came to do heat treatment to…

Orkin came to do heat treatment to exterminate bed bugs. First time didn't work. Came 3vtimes and I saw one after thst in my barber shop. Of course they said I didn't do what they told me to. Fir that exhorbant price I absolutely did everything. Now paying a loan for $2120 for treatments that didn't work. Again ill never recommend Orkin pest control to anyone. That company is a joke

I paid Orkin several thousand dollars…

I paid Orkin several thousand dollars to get rid of my pest problem. We had the house tented and outdoor perimeter treated in June. Four months later I have not gotten rid of my pest problem. In October, I noticed droppings in several area s of my house and kitchen cabinets. The inspector came saw the dropping and told me they would have to tent again. The office was suppose to call the next day, they never did. When I reached out to them, I was informed that they would not be honoring the warrantee as promised. They would come and treat the cabinets for termites. So, here I am spending money ($100.00) on container to empty everything from the cabinets, so that the treatment can be performed. This is a bandaid cure. My fear is that they stall until my warrantee runs out. To add insult to injury, they just cancelled my appointment because they did not have enough work for the day. They would have to pay the employee one full day of work in order to service my house. It used to be that Orkin was a trustworthy company. However, this has not been my experience. I'll update this review as needed.

I paid Orkin $900 for an exclusion on…

I paid Orkin $900 for an exclusion on our windows to keep stink bugs and Asian beetles out. They appeared to do a good job putting the steel wool in all of the cracks and crevices but over the next days the bugs continued to come in the upper corners of the windows. I had to complain to numerous people before I got follow up. I do have pictures of the bugs coming in the windows even video. It is still up in the air whether they’re going to do anything that can satisfy this problem.

Horrible experience

Horrible experience. From phone call, tech and pest expert. 3 different stories. The expert was the absolute worst experience I’ve ever had with any company, turns out he was a hard sales Person, pushy would not answer Questions.He tried to sell 1000s of dollars worth a product for a few droppings in our garage attic, so aggressive. We had to ask him to leave the home which, of course he didn’t want too, kept pushing and talking and trying to sell. I was getting so upset I was thinking about calling the police Finally he calmed down and left. Talked to the local manager. They want to bill me for that appointment, I never knew this so-called expert was coming to the home. They never mentioned it, would never have asked for that plus the fact that he insisted on coming in and there was no reason for that other than trying to Stay, sell and scare us with threats of Gene Hackman and his wife’s death due to rodent infestation. He had fraudulent photos. He kept showing us which we knew because we took photos before he came in after he came. He was a fraud and scary pushy.

All They Care About Is Your Money

My experience has actually been on going this past year and a half with the ORKIN in Beaver, WV and I even tried speaking to the Regional Manager in Charleston,WVAnd Representative in Kentucky but ORKIN couldn’t careless about their customers,it’s pure plain corporate greed. What I call in today’s market plain and simple forget the customer service we are so big we just are going to get your money and forget anything else policy because we can attitude. Well, good luck with that ORKIN, I found a good Christian family business that will be happy to actually get to my home on time, when they say, actually service it, do the job, and actually change me a fair price, so see ya, wouldn’t wanna be ya ! Good luck keeping customers with your shabby attitude and service!The new service I found is Miller’s Exterminator Service, they are so accommodating and helpful and extremely reliable and pleasant, give them a try, you’ll be amazed how well they service your home !

Here is what I submitted to the company along with a cancellation. They didn't respond and instead kept scheduling sessions and charging me. They are a nightmare. Stay away. This has been one of the most distressing customer service experiences I’ve ever had. I’ve called your company at least ten times regarding the use of harmful traps on my property — specifically snap traps and large open glue traps. Despite leaving multiple messages, I have yet to receive a single call back from a manager.
The situation escalated when my small dog became stuck in one of the glue traps and, in a panic, chewed himself free, spreading glue everywhere in the process. This was not only traumatic for my pet and our family, it was also extremely dangerous and entirely unacceptable.

These types of traps pose a serious threat to pets and should never have been used without a clear warning or alternative solution provided. The lack of accountability and follow-up from your team only adds to the concern.

Unless this matter is addressed immediately — with a full explanation, a refund, and assurance that appropriate action will be taken — I will be sharing a detailed review of this experience on every relevant platform and considering filing a formal claim against your company.

I hope you will take this opportunity to respond with the urgency, responsibility, and care that this situation demands.

Very poor experience

Very poor experience when attempting to handle a pest (mice) issue with Orkin. The onboarding (~$250 fee plus a monthly fee) is simple but once the service starts it’s difficult to get ahold of their team for service calls AND there’s no refunds processed if you’re unsatisfied with their service. I had an inspection and the quote provided was equivalent to more than the down payment on a house. Not to mention, the two to three times I had them at my property, I continued to see more rodent activity. This service is not efficient or effective if I need to call you out every other day. From my perspective and based on my personal experience, their pest control service is not worth the money and it did not rectify the rodent issue that we had.

ORKIN IS A NASTY PEST.

ORKIN Pest control should not be trusted with your business. They have failed to kill the roaches in my building and repeated calls to them over 2 weeks to get them back to do so has resulted in nothing but rude treatment by their office help. ORKIN IS THE REAL PEST in my life right now and I advise readers not to trust them with your business.

Orkin has been scheduled to visit my…

Orkin has been scheduled to visit my home on three separate occasions over the last 4 weeks. They have failed to show up to the appointments each time. 2 out of the 3 times they failed without even calling me before or after. I've been on the phone with their customer service and talked to at least 4 different representatives who all promised me that they would have someone from the local office reach out to me. I have yet to receive a single inbound call from anyone at Orkin.

The lady tech was rude

The lady tech was rude. She did the wrong service and with having a pet used unsafe product. Wasn’t concerned her words just don’t let the pet lick it. Totally unacceptable and also walked out of the job unfinished. So unprofessional. Please be careful when using this company with pets etc.

I don't normally post on things like this. However, I hired Orkin 2 months ago and told them I had pets- they left sticky pads all over my house without telling me (my pet got stuck to one of them before I found them all) - so I immediately canceled my subscription- I asked to speak to a manager about the matter and no one ever called me back. They Just charged my debit card another $112 dollars when no one even showed up to my house for a subsequent visit (i canceled my membership).

Orkins the real pest

The guy that does the spraying and sets the traps around my house is great too bad he has the office and salespeople associated with him. The sales guy came unannounced and left a voice message. He asked me if I wanted him to go inside my house to check things out I told him yes and we set up an appointment. No show and no phone call. I was going to tell him to drop the termite coverage but since he was a no show i called the office and left a message to cancel my termite coverage. Never got a call back. I decided to call the 800# the next day and drop Orkin all together. I was told they were cancelling it and the office would call me. I received a bill today. I called the 800# again and was told the office needs to take care of this and they will call. Their communications stink. It's like they are avoiding me so they can keep my account open. Stay away!

Orkin in the Monroe

Orkin in the Monroe, CT office is horrible. Every year I am frustrated with the appointments of when they are supposed to come out for inspections. They NEVER come when they are scheduled to come. Many times I have taken days off from work and then they never show or they show up and complete interior inspection visits when I was not even home to let them in. I regret using them but unfortunately now at this point it would cost too much to switch companies. Find another company

Mismanaged company

Mismanaged company, their website does not work properly. Should not have to insert entry info 3 times because those screw-balls cannot create a workable website. Go to their website to ask a question, and will not allow you to submit unless agree to allow them send marketing ads to your phone; and, call Orkin they claim high call volume but have time to waste of yours, but will not answer caller. These are signs this is a terribly managed company, as for our services - No Way!

Took my credit card # then didn't show

Took my credit card # then didn't show! I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Made a same day appointment, gave them my credit card number and they did not show up or call. I cannot get anyone to pick up the phone. It's as if they are screening calls. DO NOT RECOMMEND!
