Thanks to Rent Hero we avoided paying full deposit to DEAS. We almost became victim of corpo-scam. It is impossible to discuss with big companies situation of few tenants.

They failed at many details as move in contact, move out report, as well as wrongfully claiming damages due to our rental period.

Rent Hero managed to find all mistakes and helped us win the case, we received full deposit back.

Without Rent Hero we would have to pay additional 12.000 DKK beside full deposit of 50.000.

Rent Hero listened carefully to our concerns, informed us about the relevant laws, and advised us on the best way to proceed forward. They always kept in contact with us and responded to questions very quickly. The final result of our case with Rent Hero was a reduction of our rent such that we paid a fair rate for our apartment in a rent-controlled building. Following move-out, Rent Hero continued to advocate for my rights and ensured that my deposit was handled fairly and that I was not taken advantage of. Rent Hero took care of everything, I had to do literally nothing besides writing a few e-mails to them, discussing the details. I know that most people think that this is just too good to be true, but this is not the case. At the end it turned out that we were paying 60% more what the law allowed for that apartment size! Rent Hero reduced my rent by 59% for the future and also got back the money we were overpaying (deposit and previous rents) for a very fair price. And let me repeat myself again, I had to do nothing. The process only took a few months from contacting them to getting the actual money back to my account.

We were super satisfied with the work of Rent Hero, and recommend it wholeheartedly. I had help from Alex and Mads and was able to reduce my rent via settlement from 8000dkk to 3500dkk in the span of a few weeks. Because it was within the first year of the contract, I was able to get all the overcharged money back, including overcharged deposit!
They handled all the communication and negotiation with the landlord. It took a couple of rounds of emails before they got to an agreement on the final value and they advised me along the way, everytime I had to make a decision.

After two years I discovered that most of the Danish rent system is a scam for foreigners. Everybody knows that the rent has to be lower on rent controlled apartments but nobody follows the rules. In the end, I found this out and I asked the help of Rent Hero. They have been really efficient and in two weeks my landlord settled and I am now paying 40% less. Don t make the same mistake I made check your building and ask for their help immediately.

I had a situation where my Copenhagen-based dorm room managers somehow managed to calculate that the move-out costs of my 7-month stay at their premises cost my entire security deposit... down to the very last "øre".

Needless to say that was utter nonsense and Rent Hero—without my having to meet with them a bunch or appear in court (in the middle of the pandemic no less)—with approximately 7-8 months of invisible (to my eyes) effort; got 2/3 of my deposit back for me.
