Sell My Timeshare Now (SMTN) is a well organised SCAM!
I bought prime timeshare with Hilton Grand Vacations in Las Vegas for which I foolishly paid $26,500 in 2012. When I left the USA, I tried to sell the timeshare through HGV, which was a spectacular failure because they are not interested in taking back timeshare, even at a big discount. Great facilities, but don't get hooked by buying timeshare with them!
So I contacted SMTN in 2023 as they seemed to have a good track record. I paid them nearly $2,000 with the promise that the timeshare would sell for around $15,000 and they would contribute $599 to the closing costs. This was clearly a scam. After over 3 years on their website and reducing the price to $1,999, I received NO OFFERS for the timeshare. The only thing SMTN did was to put me in touch with lawyers who would "take the timeshare off my hands for $5,000"!
I have donated my timeshare (at a cost of over $1,000), instructed SMTN to delete all my information from their system, and put this down to a bad experience.
Caveat emptor (buyer beware)! Timeshare is an outdated concept and rogues like SMTN are capitalising on its downfall.

Sell My Timeshare Maintenance Fee Protection Package
Sell My Timeshare Now offered us their maintenance fee protection package. This works by allowing another party to stay at the timeshare we are trying to sell giving them a chance to try it out. But the big perk for the seller is that we get reimbursed the amount we would normally pay for our maintenance fee. So it fair for both the potential purchaser and the seller.
This is a great plan for us because it pays us the amount we would normally have to pay for our maintenance fee. This is a very good idea Sell My Timeshare Now has come up with!

We would use SMTN again
We were in the market for another timeshare, and I found a few we were interested in on Sell My Time Share Now and reached out. We started working with Ryan Bishop back in September 2024 and he was excellent. He was very helpful, and we didn't feel pressured to make a purchase at all. After we settled on what resort we really wanted we found the perfect one. It was the week we wanted, every other year, and a unit that was great. After back and forth the seller agreed and everything was set, and we paid for it in full. Then the other owner wasn't happy with the deal and wouldn't agree to it. Ryan worked with them, but an agreement couldn't be agreed upon. So, everything was canceled, and all the funds were returned to us. A couple of months later the same unit was still on the site and the price was lower than before. I reached out to Ryan again and the deal was made and finalized. They were really quick at getting us all the paperwork and we sent the paperwork in as soon as we got it so we could get the closing credit, but our paperwork was lost in the mail, so it was sent again a week later. After a little back and forth and working with the closing company and SMTN with all the timing they agreed to send us the closing credit since the paperwork was lost and missed the 5-day deadline. I learned a valuable lesson to make sure to send time sensitive stuff with tracking. Thankfully the closing company was sympathetic to what happened. It took a bit at the start working with the sellers but after the 2nd agreement it went really quickly, and everything was finalized less than 6 months. I would definitely use SMTN again for another timeshare. I just now need to convince my husband 🙂 Thank you SMTN and Ryan for all your hard work.

Not Worth the Upfront Cost
I had high hopes for Sell My Timeshare Now, but unfortunately, my experience was frustrating and unproductive. After paying a hefty upfront fee, I received little to no communication from their team and no legitimate offers.
To be fair, SMTN did do everything stated in the contract. However, the original sales price they suggested for my timeshare was completely out of touch with reality. I increased the price by $5,000—not because they recommended it, but because I was trying to test the market. Over the next 12 months, I had to reduce it substantially just to try and attract any interest—still, nothing came of it.
The customer service was polite at first, but once they had my money, it became nearly impossible to get updates or meaningful support. I felt like I was constantly chasing them for information.
It was disheartening to see how generic the listing was—it completely overlooked the special features that made my timeshare meaningful to me. It felt like they didn’t care enough to truly represent what I was trying to sell.
It feels more like a listing service than an actual sales platform. If you're looking to sell your timeshare, I’d recommend exploring other options that don’t require upfront payments and offer more transparency.

Worth the investment
I am very pleased with Sell My Timeshare Now. They provide professional and friendly customer service without any pressure tactics. Easy transaction
My family and I bought our first timeshare in January 2020. It was a seamless, uncomplicated purchase. We have been using our Westin villa, 2 bedroom lock off every year since we bought. Very happy with our purchase. We have been able to use it whenever we needed to, whether it was a quick booking or a longer thought out booking. In January 2025, we bought a second purchase at the same location. In buying a second timeshare, we have a lot of options as we have a large family. We are very happy with both purchases.

Not a scam but not a celebration
First. They arent a scam. They are easy to deal with. Very attentive and will answer all your questions and they will list it on their legit website.... thats kinda where it ends. (For us at least)
We had it listed almost 2yrs and never had any hits off this (listed at a third of the purchase price for a quick sale...) until the ONE sale offer 2yrs in (for a third of our already cheap listed price = definately, ouch!)
This was all handled from first contact through to closure by an independent brokerage seperate to smtsn that uses them as a database in addition to their own clients....so could you get rid of a middle man? Im not sure. Worth a look.
We had fees with smtn and then 2 additonal brokerage fees that significantly affected the sale price. (So not really "free") ....and you need to spend a few hundred on a notary to stamp all your paperword on your end.... so again ouch. BUT, we will never buy one again - lesson learnt - and smtsn DID accomplish that sale in the end. (If i could find a brokerage willing to find a buyer without them though it could have saved another $1500+ to recoup inital purchase price) so not ungrateful but not celebrating.
Note: we live in canada. Timeshare was in mexico. Smtsn is USA....so lots of legalities im sure.
