We had a custom package put together and had useful and regular comms with this order

The equipment is well packaged and the 890 series headphones are excellent- easy to operate and have great sound isolation

The concept and organisation of delivery and collection were great. We hired for a hen do and everyone loved it.
However, I’m giving only 2 stars for a couple of reasons -
1. When the box arrives it stunk of smoke and the headsets were really grubby so I had to clean them all.
2. Still trying to get my security deposit back!!! It’s been almost 3 weeks since we sent the kit back… I’ve now emailed 4 times and tried to call but it just goes to voicemail. No response to any of my emails and cannot get through to anyone on the phone. I’m not sure if they are just a small business and they struggling with cash flow or if they are just trying to avoid giving me my refund.
Either way I’ve received poor customer service and I would not use the company again, due to lack of trust.

We hired a silent disco package for a hen party and it was honestly the best part of our weekend! Everyone absolutely loved it and was so easy to set up. We had two channels with two different playlists on the go so it catered for different preferences. It was a good value of money too! Thank you so much and will definitely be using this again for other parties!

Everything was fine until it came to returning my security deposit.

I think the business are too busy fulfilling new orders, to attend to returning people’s deposits.

I’ve chased multiple times via multiple channels. The latest was finally getting through on the phone, only to be told they were too busy to handle the return of my deposit right now, as they’re preparing for another event! What?! Take care of new business before caring for the customers who’ve already trusted you?! (This call was also terminated without warning by the Disco Direct employee- he’s probably hot, bothered, stressed and knows his manager won’t allow him to do anything about it - I get it).

I would love to be able to come back with a beautiful update/edit to this review.

At the moment I can’t recommend this business.

I’ve subsequently been contacted by someone at Silent Disco Direct by email.

He apologised for the situation and arranged for the return of my security deposit which arrived late - it was returned via PayPal, not bank transfer (after having supplied my bank details) - further delaying it by a number of days.

I responded to the apology email, asking for the PayPal payment to be cancelled and a bank transfer to be arranged - I’m still waiting for a response, a week later.

Also, another point of concern. The person I spoke to, who hung up on me made a point of suggesting who would be in the office, manning the phones if I’d like to call back later on that day. He specifically mentioned a particular name. For arguments sake, let’s say he mentioned James and so said;

“James and a number of the team will be in the office upstairs later if you want to call back”

Then duly hung up on me when I asked for his name.

When I then received the apology email, (interestingly, only receiving the apology after this TrustPilot review went live), in the apology email, the sender told me that I had specifically spoken to ‘James’!

Huh? I spoke to James and the person on the end of the phone told me to call back later to speak to James?!

Why would James not tell me to call back later to speak to him?

Was he attempting to dodge accountability because he knew he was fobbing me off?

And again, I spelt this all out in my response to the apology email…..still no response a week later.

Really, not a good look Silent Disco Direct.

Still not resolved to my satisfaction.

Fab experience. Headsets arrived on the Thursday with clear instructions and time to prepare, we held our part on the Saturday - well received, and the standard headsets had fantastic range. Courier collected on the Monday, with clear time window, allowing time for all the headsets to be tracked down and packed. Deposit full refunded a week later. Definitely will use SDD again!

Good equipment and clear instructions. Easy to set up and use and comes with a variety of connector's to suit your device. Can be used without Wi Fi just plug in and use downloaded playlist. Easy door to door delivery and collection, Thankyou!

Great company. Used for my daughter’s 13th birthday with her friends. They all loved the light up headphones and loved being able to choose their own songs to listen to. Great to have two channels too. Delivery and pick up all very smooth. Would definitely recommend. Thank you!

The silent disco worked perfectly with great volume and quality. It was a big hit with everyone at the party and genuinely one of the most fun things ever! Absolutely hilarious! Instructions were clear and the delivery and collection process was very smooth. Highly recommended.

Have used this company twice now for family parties and would highly recommend. Andrew was extremely helpful on our first order when I wasn’t sure how it all worked and equally so on our 2nd and the price point is spot on. The equipment is really up to date and so easy to use, both headsets and the transmitters. We have had so much fun even in small family groups of 17 and 21 so don’t think this is a big event only option. Only downside is when you play videos back and you can hear people singing without any music, my family are not blessed with good voices!!

Cannot recommend this company enough! Very efficient service from start to finish! The equipment arrived in plenty of time and set up was super easy with clear instructions. Collection organised and just as efficient. Everybody thoroughly enjoyed it.
