The SimpleMobile "My App" is programmed to be fraudulent on data refills:
$ 5 purchase = 2 GB refill.
$10 purchase = 2 GB refill.
$20 purchase = 2 GB refill.
It has been that way for months. They never fix it. Logically you should only purchase $5 of data at a time.
SCAM
I had a feeling they were scamming me and inflating my actual data usage. Switched carriers, using my phone off wifi even MORE than I was while with Simple Mobile. Have barely used the same amount of data. BEWARE they will say you are using wifi but will still take data.
Worst customer experience I ever had
Worst customer experience I ever had. I tried to set my card up. Simple mobile took hours out of my time. Tried every way to set it up. Even worse on chat. Simple mobile sent me customer service 188. I could not call with no data. I sent a chat saying I couldn’t call them they said they understood and would send me a portal and call me in 15 min. I never got the call. Later 11 o’clock at night still can’t figure it out. If I could give this company a 0 out of 10 I would!

This is by far the worst customer service experience I have ever had. I called more than 15 times, and each time I was transferred back and fourth to the same departments. When I finally got through to someone, EVERYTIME the call magically dropped.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. Good luck trying to call their 1-800 number. No one is helpful, it’s all automated. My online login would never work, they put me on a monthly renewal program for my mobile hotspot for my business. After not ever being able to talk to someone on the phone I finally had to have my credit card company dispute cancelling services and change my credit card.
Terrible company, avoid them, even if they “seem” to have lower prices. You get what you pay for.

Simple mobile customer service just tries to get off the phone with you and don't fix the problems
Bought 10gbs of add on data twice and only recieved 2gbs both times first time I was told I used it all and the second time I called less than 15 minutes after I bought the add on and first they tried to claim I used it again when I told them I literally just bought it they asked if I reset my phone (I did) and they said maybe it wasn't reflecting on the account yet so I should call them back when the 2gbs runs out so they can fix the problem

So they sent me a SIM card that works only with Verizon compatible phones but my phone is not compatible with Verizon because it doesn’t have the cdma chip in it.
So they scammed me out of $56.

I’ve been a simple mobile customer for 5 years, starting when my son first needed a phone and now with 2 sons both on simple mobile.
My younger son’s iPhone XR just completely stopped working last week, screen was locked, couldn’t access anything, Siri worked but that’s about it.
Fair enough, XR is an older model, so I log on to simplemobile.com and order him a new iPhone 12 and pay $300 in full.
It arrived today and we started the activation process that came from simple mobile with the phone. I’ve done this several times with 2 kids with phones so I know what to expect.
All I’m getting is error messages so I have to call. They proceed to tell me it’s because my sim is expired, and that I need to go ahead and buy a new one.
THEY LITERALLY SENT IT TO ME! I had to scream at the poor CS agent. He finally said “where did you buy it?” Me: SIMPLEMOBILE.com
I refuse to pay for another SIM card when 1) I just paid you $300 for this phone and sim
2) YOU shipped me an expired SIM
Proceeds to put me on hold about 10 times to file a ticket for someone else to help me, then tell me that I have to call them back in 24 hours.

This is a SCAMMER company! The call center is in India. They messed up my account. Emailed me saying the wrong phone number WHICH I NEVER ATTACHED A NUMBER BECAUSE IT WAS A MOBILE WIFI UNIT I PURCHASED. NO MATTER WHAT NUMBER I GIVE THEM THEY CAN'T FIND MY ACCOUNT - WHICH I'M LOOKING AT IN THEIR APP WHEN I CALL THEM. DO NOT TRUST THESE THIEVES!!!
They don't give you your full amount of high-speed data
I ran out of high-speed data and decided to purchase some data add on. I paid $10 for an additional 5GBs. This was at 9:30am. I turned off my phone and turned it back on to make sure everything reset properly. At 10am I check my data balance and it shows I have 1.98GBs remaining. Less than 30 minutes and I apparently used 3.02GBs. I call the so called customer service line and was told they don't control my data usage and there was nothing they could do about it. I asked for a supervisor and surprise surprise the supervisor was not available. They couldn't transfer me, give me a phone number or email to get in touch with the supervisor. This was the 2nd time this happened. I the same problem 2 months ago. This time I was sent to refunds and supposedly I will be getting my $10 back. I won't hold my breath.

This is the worst service period. If you want to pay for something that you don’t know if it’s going to work? This is the go to! It’s anyone’s guess every single day if your phone will work or not. You might get to send texts, or make calls. Or maybe you won’t get to at all. Who knows! They will also offer you free phones. Don’t take one, they are worse than what you have and will work even less on their network. Oh, yea… Network! It’s supposed to be on Verizon and they are supposed to have the most coverage anywhere. Well, that’s a lie because it had exactly zero coverage when I went to PA last year and I couldn’t use it at all unless I was on WiFi. The worst phone service I’ve ever used.

Bought cheap got cheap
The only reason I didn't give 1 star is because customer service through chat has really done everything they can to help me when I have an issue. A problem I recently discovered is that if I turn on wifi calling the next time I reconnect to my wifi my service disappears. Sim status said service disconnected. Took me a few days to figure it out. Turned off my wifi calling and back to no problems. I would be happier with this service if I could get more than one bar when at home. I sometimes have to go outside to talk on the phone because I'm coming in choppy for the person I'm talking to.

This company needs to be shut down! I lost my phone and I tried to call and cancel service or switch my number to a new phone. Mind you the phone is lost, but they said the only way the could verify the account is through a text message. I have a 4 digit pen, when I asked them if I could provide the pen for verification they said they could not take the 4 digit pen number to verify the account. When asked why can’t they use the pen number to verify the account they said they could not tell me why because of security purposes. I asked to speak to a manager, they stated that there was no manager to speak with. They are not friendly at all and they do not care about the customers.

Customer Service is beyond incompetent
Customer Service is beyond incompetent. My service was down for 3x weeks on a mobile hotspot. Called multiple times until I finally got a hold of someone that said they understood the problem, and whom could actually communicate in English. They said they would extend my service date 30 days since virtually no data was used, and then within 2 days my service expired/cut off. Called back and they said there was no record of me calling or this agreement. This is a complete sham of a service with zero percent chance you will ever have a call with customer service that will resolve your problem. There are charging an exorbitant price for the data, and then the service fails constantly on their device. POS, on all fronts!
