Handled my payroll and tax liabilities for several years. Fully HMRC compliant, giving me peace of mind. Their charges are very competitive and you get your own allocated account manager for any queries. I found them to be helpful and responsive throughout and only leaving as I am now retiring. Would recommend as much better than previous umbrella companies I have tried.

Edward and Smartwork Team are really helpful throughout the process. I have used another umbrella company and their services were not good at all. But the Smartwork team is different, I have not had a single issue with onboarding or payments. Everything was on time. And importantly all my questions were answered

Smartwork making everything easy…
At times contracting can have additional burden of arranging tax returns and self assessment.
Have had the fortune of using Smartwork as my umbrella company. Cannot speak high enough of them, totally professional and a highly well oiled machine.
In particular Mr Ian Marshall who was my business manager was a stalwart of professionalism.

I'm not a great user of on line portals but the team always helped me when I was thwarted!

I have had the fortune over the last year to have SmartWork as my umbrella agency. They have been fantastic. A particular shout out to my manager Ian Marshall who was always supportive and kind. Highly professional, skilled and experienced. He always made himself easily accessible and readily responsive to any queries/problems I might have had. Bureaucracy/paperwork simple and straightfoward, processes/online portal clear, simple and transparent. Highly recommended.

Your records show we deducted a £15 per week margin for our services, which is lower than our standard advertised figure. Other pay deductions include Employer’s NI and Levy, PAYE Tax, and Employee’s NI, which are paid over to HMRC. Your pay may also include personal deductions related to Student Loans and Pensions. Please refer to your payslip for detailed information about each of these items.
We are proud to be fully transparent about pay deductions, and our records show that our colleagues have tried their best to politely and patiently explain everything to you. You have also been provided with the same payslip guide we have available on our website.

SmartWork is great
I decided to join SmartWork last year, as was positively impressed by how communication with SW was much more clear and useful comparing to other umbrella companies, including very well known ones. With SW I always have my payments on time, always knew what is going on, and whenever I have questions or requests they were always there to help. The portal is also very simple and easy to use. Recommend everyone!
