Where to start! We visited Sonique yesterday to find a prom dress for my daughters prom in July, we where greeted and got to browse the store. Once we had a browse, one of the girls came over to us to help choose dresses to try on. They then check to make sure no one else from their school has the same dress (brilliant idea!) Then we got taken into the back where there is a huge room lots of mirrors & beautiful decor to take lots of pictures. We had a wonderful time finding a dress. We found the process super easy, now we are waiting for the dress to arrive in store. Thank you so much to the staff for making such an amazing memory for our family!

sonique is an absolutely fantastic prom dress shop .It is so over whelming walking into the store as there are so many dresses and styles and colours to choose from. But from the minute u walk in the door u are automatically welcomed by the staff. the staff at sonique are amazing especially with the children and even parents. will definitely go again just for the experience. absolutely amazing

We bought a prom dress for my daughter from Sonique Dresses in West Bromwich. Many dresses had no price tags — you’re expected to ask and negotiate, which feels uncomfortable and unclear. It’s hard to know if you’re being charged fairly, especially when emotions are high and your child is excited.

The dress we chose was labelled “Hermione Prom”, a name that sounds similar to Hermione de Paula, a well-known couture designer. But this dress clearly wasn’t from any real designer — it was generic in style, mass-produced, and matches dresses you can find online for a fraction of the price. The “designer” label felt misleading, and I’ve since heard other parents say they regret spending so much.

After I shared an honest review elsewhere, I was contacted by phone and text without my consent. My partner’s review was blocked and labelled a “duplicate complaint,” which makes me question how feedback is handled by the business.

To be clear, my daughter looked beautiful — but that’s because of who she is, not the dress. I wouldn’t shop here again, and I’d advise others to ask clear questions about price, origin, and branding before buying.

1 star is generous. Never experienced such awful customer service ever! My poor little sister was left devastated after having her dream dress taken off her due to a mix up from THEM which they then blamed on us not understanding them properly, (3 of us were there so that’s rubbish and we double checked) they then went back and forth arguing with us, to which we then found a dress suitable to which they said they would ship out to us as it was the least they could do after a big mess up, firstly it took AGES of back and forths and no reply’s, ignored messages, ignored calls, probably because they had our money and weren’t bothered with us!! Eventually they shipped out the dress and we thought yay finally it’s going to be sorted. We get an email to say it’s been delivered and we check the delivery picture and it’s in STOURBRIDGE when we live an hour away from there, such a joke, another mix up… Eventually got a refund and no doubt they will come back to reply to this with something about it being our fault like they’ve done before, beware, don’t shop here! Awful experience and rude staff.

Girls are given the princess treatment which is a memorable experience for them . The staff have a relaxed and encouraging approach which is I believe is key for dealing with girls of this age especially with something as important to them as prom !

Thank you Laura so very much for the experience my daughter will never forget ! I was really apprehensive when my daughter asked me to drive hours from London to attend appointment at Sonique. But boy ! It was worth all the effort ! Laura, who was our assistant could not do enough for us, she was absolutely lovely, professional but somehow made my daughter feel like she was helped by her best friend ! She went above and beyond and showed us (patiently) range of dresses, styles and colours to allow my daughter to pick her style and colour very quick ! She patiently fasten the dresses and got my daughter ready for photo taking ! What an absolute asset to the company Laura is ! This was one of a time experience, Laura made my daughter feel like a princess 👸 I’m so grateful that I drove back to London with the most beautiful dress and a very happy princess 👸 Laura, I will be forever grateful, I was pleasure to meet you ☺️ the shop is lovely too, and all the other assistants very lovely too, but Laura definitely gave us an experience that my daughter will never forget

After a rather long wait about one and a half over our appt time we finally had a really happy and helpful experience
Our asst Leah T was so patient and helpful and after trying so many beautiful dresses my granddaughter decided on the first dress she had picked out !
Since the visit we have been kept up to date on order and delivery etc and she is now looking forward to seeing the final dress

Amazing day staff so helpful nothing to much trouble even on a busy Saturday. Highly recommended alot of choice price ranges and colour .

This place is absolutely awful. had an awful experience and i am devastated. i went there and found a dress that i loved, but it was on hold at my school. however they told me that the girl who had it on hold had gone over the period that she paid for it to be on hold and let me try it on. But AT FIRST they told us that if the girl called back to say she wanted it they would give it to her. another girl who hadnt helped us the whole time asked if that was the dress that i wanted and i said yes but explained the situation. she said that it was fine and i could buy it and i was guaranteed that it wouldnt get taken off me as she had checked with the manager. (we double checked this TWICE.) we got a phone call a few weeks later telling us they had to cancel the order because she wanted it back. even though we were guaranteed the dress. i am so devastated as i fell in love with the dress and that was the one i wanted from the start.

Great experience today shopping for my daughter’s prom dress. Lots of choice of dresses in sizes from xxxs to size 20 seen, something for all tastes. Thanks to Leah L and Sophie for helping my daughter choose her perfect dress. So many choices and Leah kept bringing more options to my daughters tastes and request. Only negative which wasn’t too bad was we chose some dresses and paid to put them aside for us to choose from later but when went back they had been put back on racks and only wrong sizes available. Luckily the staff (Sophie) was helpful in finding the size we needed to try on again and it helped us chose the perfect dress

Great experience at sonique shopping for my daughter’s prom dress. She was made to feel very relaxed and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Leah was a great help and encouraged my daughter to find her perfect dress suggesting colours and styles to suit her. The payment process and ordering was simple and also the after care we have received. Thank you!!!
