Suspended account without notice

Update: As of UpCloud's reply on Feb 11, I have not received reasons for the suspension, although I attempted to reach out at least 10 times via email to abuse(at)upcloud.com.

UpCloud just suspended my account, which contains 16 servers, resulting in a major disruption to my service WITHOUT any prior warning or written notice.

I will repeat, WITHOUT ANY PRIOR warning or notice. (At the time of this review, I still have not yet received their reasons for suspension.)

At this point, it's just insane that they are willing to do this and have no empathy for their user who will be affected by their unjust action.

I have used many providers, including AWS, Hetzner, DigitalOcean, and Vultr. None of these providers shut down clients' accounts without advance warning or notice.

AVOID UpCloud AT ALL COSTS, you have been WARNED.

Outstanding support from a quality Scandinavian provider

I reached out to UpCloud's support team with questions about their load balancer setup, and the help I received was exceptional. Even though load balancers are included in their Essentials package at no extra cost, the support team took the time to thoroughly explain the configuration, answer my questions, and follow up on my progress. This level of dedication is rare to find. UpCloud delivers quality cloud services at reasonable prices, and their customer support truly sets them apart.

Reliable and performant

UpCloud's services have been very reliable and performant, with customer support responding to tickets in minutes many issues can be resolved in no-time.

Extremely generous data transfers and egress with "Fair-Transfer Policy", latest model AMD EPYC CPUs.. there's not much to complain about.

I'd like to just see potentially more built-in services such as running containers without relying on Kubernetes.

Absolute trash!

Absolute trash!

Had a web server on their website. Out of the blue they suspend my account. Meaning i cannot log in to the hub FORCING me to email them and get slow respones.

Instead of asking for what they need instantly they drag it out to waste your time.

Never use UpCloud!

I understand you have strict security stuff but how can you advertise "24/7/365 support for our customers" then inactivate accounts revoking access to that support for your customers. Absolute dogshit way of handeling it

We recently migrated from a US‑based datacenter to UpCloud, and the experience has been outstanding. Their European infrastructure performs extremely well, and their web panel is clean, intuitive, and easy to navigate - something we appreciated throughout the migration process.
Both their support team and sales staff stand out: support replies are consistently quick and helpful, and the sales team is knowledgeable and genuinely committed to understanding our needs. Every time we hit a bump in the transition, UpCloud stepped in with clear guidance and reliable assistance.
It’s also a big plus that UpCloud offers Terraform support, making automation and infrastructure management smooth and straightforward. Overall, they’ve been a solid and supportive partner from day one.

Reliable performance with strong focus on privacy

I’ve been using UpCloud for a while now and have been very satisfied with the overall experience.

The performance is excellent, especially the MaxIOPS storage, which provides fast and stable I/O. My services run smoothly with low latency, and the uptime has been consistently reliable. The data center in Singapore works very well for users in Southeast Asia.

I also value UpCloud’s strong focus on privacy and data protection. Being a European provider fully compliant with GDPR gives me confidence when running production services.

The pricing is transparent and fair, with no hidden costs, and the control panel is clean and easy to use. Support has been responsive and professional whenever I needed assistance.

Overall, UpCloud is a great choice for developers and businesses looking for a stable, high-performance cloud provider with strong privacy standards. Highly recommended.

UpCloud: Reliable, Fast, and Easy to Use

I like UpCloud for its reliable performance and responsive 24/7 customer support. The platform is easy to use, and the pricing is transparent. UpCloud offers three plans: Developer (starting at €3), General Purpose (starting at €7), and Cloud Native (starting at €12, without bundled storage or IPs), making it a flexible option for both small projects and production workloads. UpCloud also provides a free trial, so you can explore their services before committing.

While UpCloud has excellent performance and reliability, the server locations are somewhat limited outside Europe. Most data centers are in Europe, with three in the USA, one in Australia, and one in Asia (Singapore), which may affect latency for users in other regions.

Overall, UpCloud is a strong choice if you prioritize performance, transparency, and support, especially for European-based workloads.

They don't allow port 25 for emails

I had to submit a detailed explanation for something simple for emailing as I rely on this for my business, however I was declined. If you wish to use port 25 for receiving and sending emails without any extra costs then this isn't the right provider. Worst thing is Chatgpt recommended me them as "the best" for emailing when they don't even allow it anyways unless you're an established business earning millions.

Account suspention

i got suspended by unknown reason(apparently i wasnt using my credit card, i only used paypal to topup balance ), support team replies once in a blue moon, and i left money on my account they say its not refundable.

If you deposit money on their platform…

If you deposit money on their platform and don't login for a given amount of time, they'll delete your account and the money that you paid. They say that you have a window of x-months to login, but what if x-months became x-days?

It's in violation of Finnish consumer protection laws, which they refuse to abide by.

Support is poor and doesn't reply either.

Totally disappointed
I just created an account yesterday, and just a few hours after that they suspended my account, which I have already paid $10 to move from free trial tier to paid plan.
This is an outright stealing of customer's money, by no mean it's acceptable for such a well known company to do.

Upcloud uses cloudflare to front the admin user interface.

This means the a US company decrypts every page view, every password you enter on the admin page.

We are in the process of evaluating options to move away from relying on external providers and aim to bring these services in-house or use European providers.
