Be careful with this company's billing practices!
I was charged for $45 on May 11, 2025 for auto-renewal and I only found it out when I independently looked at my credit card statement yesterday.
No renewal notice before the charge and no receipt or confirmation after the charge.
Upon discovering the charge, I promptly contacted ABCmouse customer service, requested a refund, and canceled the subscription to prevent future renewals. I was informed that the charge was nonrefundable.

Whatever you do don't get it it's a trap it is the hardest thing to even try to cancel they hit my account I'm at a no more than 11 times trying to get my money then they said they couldn't find my account they couldn't find me to cancel it Even with the stop pay they continue to attempt to get my money until they finally got it no matter how many emails I sent there was no phone number to call and speak to a person just kept getting replies from them that they couldn't find my account Even when I change bank cards they were able to get mine money I trusted him it was a really bad choice no matter how many two things they have just know it's a trap

Would give 0 stars if I could. ABCmouse has a troubling track record of deceptive practices, including a $10 million FTC settlement over illegal marketing and billing practices [1].
My experience reflects those concerns. I signed up for a $59.95/year plan, but was later charged $99.90/year without any clear notification. Even worse, the subscription auto-renewed year after year with no reminders or billing alerts. I only discovered this after reviewing my credit card statements—by then, I had been charged roughly $400. I thought I canceled in 2022 and had no idea I was being charged yearly—there were no email billing notifications.
In contrast, other reputable learning platforms I use (such as Coursera, Udacity) send clear reminders before renewals and confirmations after billing. ABCmouse did neither—no advance notice, no receipt, nothing.
They may rely on fine print to justify this, but the FTC case and similar user reports point to a pattern of questionable practices. I should have done more due diligence, but the lack of transparency here is unacceptable.
I hope other parents don’t fall victim to this.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!! I WAS CHARGED FOR OVER A YEAR! My child signed up for an account, I did not notice the charges-- They were able to look at the account and see that it was NEVER accessed and they REFUSED to refund the money.

I cancelled ABC MOUSE because I did not have access to it even after I paid for a one year subscription . ABC Mouse charged me twice and when I had the second charge refunded, the first subscription remained active but I still could not access the app until I paid again. I had several tickets open with them and there was no resolution. I was bounced back and forth between them and other carriers you can purchase the app through. Then they gave me a hush gift card to use the app for free for a year because I cancelled it altogether, and I still couldn’t use the app. They are fraudulent and should be shut down.

Had a 3 month free trial and set an alarm to cancel. I canceled the day before the first billing date and the next morning my credit card alerts me of a pending charge. How? I canceled before it was due!
I noticed the potential deception in their cancelation process and made sure to get to the page on the website that says your account is canceled but you still have until Nov 28 to use the service (which is today).

This thing is a total scam. I signed up for a trial and quickly realized the app is useless as a teaching tool. It is extremely limited in what it does. I’ve canceled previously but still got charged today. Customer Service closed because of the hurricane in Jamaica. DO NOT GET ENTANGLED WITH THIS GROUP

This company is a scam. Somehow charged began charging my account in July 2025 to date in Oct. Have reported to the support line and getting the run around. On hold now with customer care...endless excuses and hold ...Will dispute the charge with my bank. These fraudsters are so disgusting.

There is no confirmation for buying the product, which is crazy given how poor the website functions. What they're offering is apparently unclear as well, I was charged $40 for a service and I don't even know what it possibly was. No refund policy too just shows that this is a scam. I'll be going through my bank to get a refund, the AI chat bot is also infuriating.

Extremely Disappointed – Quick to Charge, Impossible to Get Help
I had high hopes for ABCmouse, but my experience has been nothing short of frustrating. I was immediately charged upon signing up, yet have been completely unable to access my account. Despite providing all requested information—including screenshots of the transaction and my bank clearly showing the charge—support claims they “can’t find” my email or payment method.
Attempts to speak with an actual human are met with automated messages telling me to check my email, which I’ve already done repeatedly. I replied with every detail they requested, and since then… nothing. No response. No resolution.
ABCmouse seems to be very quick to take your money, but alarmingly slow and unhelpful when it comes to support. Beware before signing up—this has been a waste of time, money, and energy. I strongly advise others to look elsewhere for early learning tools that actually value their customers.

This is utterly pointless outside the US. There’s no option to change from American English to actual English so not only are the names and pronunciation of things the American version but it teaches them the incorrect spelling too. Cultural references are all US based ones too. No idea why this is advertised in the UK.
