I have been trying to get a refund for a subscription I didn't sign up for. I don't even have children. They have been unwilling to refund my money, so the credit card company is next.

Watch this company

Watch this company. Took out a 60 day free trial and got some random charges in between. Cancelled the subscription and got an email to say I had and they still took 9.99 out of my account. I emailed them and they said we've cancelled your subscription for you. Hang on I'd already done that give me my 9.99 back. Reply we don't do refunds but on this occasion we will. Damn right as I'd cancelled it and they'd still charged me which I pointed out was either fraud or theft whichever they chose. Also it's American so isn't all that great for English kids. Bit naughty this App stay away. Looks like everyone on here saying the same thing. Cancelling subscriptions which means nothing by the looks of it as they still bill you 💩👎👊💪 Dicks!! Think I'll be checking my account each month to check.

Nasty. Dark patterns used.

Used this site years ago, with a similar experience. They use nasty dark patterns to trap you into their payments. Rage inducing.

Cannot cancel subscription

I’ve been trying to cancel my subscription after a free trial, and I am going around in circles. It’s not allowing me to cancel the main subscription, only the assessment subscription. I am from the uk so cannot phone to cancel without spending an extortionate amount on the call, and you can only talk to a bot which tells me I don’t have a subscription to cancel, but then tells me I have one when I just want information about the subscription. It is an absolute scan

$ It is not worth the ABCmouse curriculum

I stupidly signed up for the trial and then when I tried to access account it insisted on me choosing the annual payment to go through (no other button worked). I never got a free trial and they took the money from my account the same day without a free trial. tried to cancel they said they do not do refunds. SCAM!!! I am so disappointed in this site. I would highly discouraage anyone to use this site unless you want to talk to bots when trying to get thing resolved. I will keep trying to cancel and hopfully speak to a live person. the trouble is not worth the ABC's curriculum that they offer.

I stupidly signed up for the trial and…

I stupidly signed up for the trial and then when I tried to access account it insisted on me choosing the annual payment to go through (no other button worked). I thought this was a glitch and then once in the app I would cancel but no, it would not let me go further- so I couldn’t access nor cancel. They immediately tried to debit money even though it was the free trial. So after they tried twice without success they sent an email to update info- when I followed I managed to get into the account and immediately cancelled. Got the email to confirm so thought it was sorted. Plus I had also read reviews albeit after I had signed up. Within a week they tried to take money again and this has been going on for a few months. I cancelled my card. They still were trying to access my account- thankfully this is a secondary account so barely used. I have once again after they had the nerve to send another message to update details- to go on their chat and once again they have said it is cancelled and today they tried to take money again. Stay well clear of this company

SCAM - cannot access service or cancel

Signed up for a 1 month trial as part of another offer from a voucher app, however it stops on the UPGRADE screen which I dont want to do, I just want to cancel the subscription but there is no way to get to the PARENTAL section as the screen freezes. I've tried 2 browsers, iphone, ipad and windows 11 machine. Seems scammy as hell so will be referring this to paypal.

Worst Customer Service-Scam

I’ve had one of the worst experiences with ABCmouse. Their customer service is horrible, and I feel like they don’t follow any consumer laws regarding subscription renewals. After canceling back in 2018, I recently discovered that I’ve been charged for the last three years without any notice or email. This feels completely random and predatory.

When I reached out to their support team, no one was willing to help or even have a real conversation about the charges. They simply brushed me off. There’s no transparency, no reminders about subscription renewals, and they make it nearly impossible to cancel. It’s shocking that a company aimed at helping families and children is operating like this.

I’ve filed complaints with consumer protection agencies because their practices seem to violate multiple laws. If you’re thinking about signing up, don’t do it! You’ll likely end up trapped in a never-ending subscription with no way out and no support from their team.

Don't fall for this scam

This company offers a free initial month. However after signing up, it will only let you access the platform if you pay for the entire year. The problem is, if you don't access the platform, they will start charging you monthly so you need to pay for the entire year just to cancel.This is a clear scam and I'm hoping nobody else falls for it.

Problems with app, poor customer service

I paid for a subscription for my 4 year old son as I wanted a program that would support his learning to read. The parts of the program that were supposed to help him read were inaccessible, when I called the company they stated that this was unfortunately not working and provided me a "free" subscription to another service which was not developmentally appropriate for a 5 year old. When I called them they only offered me a 50% refund.

Fraud

My mom talked me into buying my son an ABCmouse subscription several years ago and I picked the yearly option. He played some of the games for a couple days then lost interest, plus half the time the app would freeze up and not work, so I cancelled the subscription. Since we did yearly he would still have access to it for the rest of the year so I figured if he started playing with it again or if they fixed the app to actually work right I could just resubscribe him. He never did, they never did, so I never resubscribed. That should be the end of it right?

Wrong! This is now the SECOND YEAR IN A ROW that I am having to dispute unauthorized charges from this company. There is no way my son could have resubscribed on his ipad, I have every parental control & restriction enabled. He cannot install apps or make in-app purchases without me explicitly approving it either from my phone or on his ipad with the screen time passcode.

I'm starting to suspect this company reactivates cancelled subscriptions just long enough to charge people again, then cancels them again cause the latest cancellation date shows Jul. 5th of this year. There is simply no way that could have been us because my son's ipad had been in storage for several months at that time, and his ipad is the only device the ABCmouse subscription was ever active on. I can't even manage the sub on my apple account, I have to unlock his account and go into his subs to see it.

And of course you can't reach anyone at the company, just a useless chatbot that either "encountered an error" when you try to cancel then tells you customer service is closed.

I have reported this fraud to the FTC and I'll be submitting a report to the CFPB as well. They were sued for billing fraud before, looks like it's time for another class-action.

I don't remember ever opening an account on this website or leaving my credit card number (I don't do that on these sorts of websites), yet somehow they charge me continuously. It's amazing to see how people rob others without any consequences.

I never signed up for this service

I never signed up for this service, it was obviously fraudulent use of my card because it was registered with an anonymous email with just random letters and numbers. The chat responder said I would get a refund. It never came. 6 months later I'm getting new charges to my card. This site is obviously actively engaging in fraudulent charging of stolen cards. No one steals cards to buy children's games with them They should be arrested and forced to pay restitution to everyone who they are stealing from.

Reported them to the Glendale, CA BBB and got my money back

*CBI compliance violation...
Told me my ABCmouse service would be interrupted because my credit card was no longer valid (TRUE --because I got a new one 2 months earlier due to fraud activity). However, service was NOT interrupted, they just billed my bank account automatically behind my back. I ignored their cancellation notices because I wanted the subscription to simply 'run out'. Reported them to the Glendale, CA BBB and got my money back --- but they smugly replied that they were 'doing me a favor' and would refund. Despite the fact that it was simply 'the right thing to do', they did refund me...but they didn't like doing the right thing; it made them uncomfortable--you could tell in their BBB response.

Doesn’t work on IPad Mini 3

We bought this to use on an iPad Mini 3 that their website explicitly states it will work with. When we couldn’t get it to load I contacted technical support who told me I need an IOS update that isn’t supported for the iPad Mini 3.

I asked for a refund and they just quoted terms and conditions that they don’t give refunds. Eventually they gave me 50% back and 6 months of “complimentary” access that I can’t use.

Beware - their website contains information on where you can use their software and it is not accurate.

Beware of abcmouse scam

I got an annual subscription of abcmouse in Feb 2024. I tried to download the app in March 2024 and the available app on the playstore is abcmouse reimagined. I downloaded that and when I signed in, I got a message that my subscription was for abcmouse early learning not abcmouse reimagined. I have contacted their customer support and was told to use it online at abcmouse.com -.this is untrue as it does not work online. You need the app to use the program I have been charged for the annual subscription and the app I paid for has been pulled off the playstore. The customer rep said I needed a new subscription to use abcmouse reimagined. What about what I paid for?I want a refund!!!

horrible scams

My son Timme and daughter Lah do so much hard work but... it says they only do 5 minutes!!! and this?!!? is a scam everyone! i do not recommend this! waste of time and money just like time4learning its so bad i wanna rate it a 0 star but i cant do that so i rate it a 1 star!
