I’ve used this company for several years. The customer service is top notch. I enjoy the upgrades and new features as its services evolve. AlterMe doesn’t quite meet all my needs for weight loss, but each upgrade gets closer.
I would like more nutrition feed back, a meal planner with recipes that are not AI generated, and more workout options for old joints who need higher heart rates.

Disappointing + Poor Value for Money

I had high expectations for AlterMe but found the experience extremely disappointing. The DNA results offered very little meaningful or actionable insight, with mostly generic health and fitness recommendations.

The consultation was equally disappointing. Was a total waste of my time - got nothing out of helping me understand the results (turns out, there wasn't much to understand)

Overall, the marketing promises far exceeded the actual value delivered. I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing. Taking the time to write a review so customers know what they're signing up for. Unless you have intent on investing in their app and programs which are $$$, hard pass.

I’ve been using AlterMe since the beginning, and it has made a meaningful difference in how I approach my health week to week.

The biggest impact for me has been around rest and recovery. Instead of just looking at activity or workouts in isolation, AlterMe helps me understand how everything works together and where I may need to adjust.

I especially appreciate the weekly guidance. It gives me a clear view of my overall activity, recovery, and nutrition and turns that information into something I can actually use. It has helped me be more intentional about when to push, when to recover, and where small changes can make a difference.

It’s become a valuable part of how I manage my overall health and performance.

The program truly keeps me honest as far as food is concerned. I’ve several question that were answered by the terrific customer service team, I’m still working on mastering the workouts but things are looking up

Cannot get results before speaking to someone that tries to sell u further services.

The supposed DNA results were generic to anyone. And/or I m already aware of my risks for being over weight.

I do not need to be counseled on that.

Bottom line, paid 30 dollars to learn something I already knew.

I've used AlterMe for years now and it's transformed my post partum body. I love seeing my sleep score each day to give myself some grace if I need it. It also encourages me to lift & get a solid walk in. I've lost 15 lbs and am continuing to get stronger. The food scan is also a favorite of mine! I don't have all of the time in the world with kids to put my food in and check all the labels. I just take a quick picture and move on with the day. This is my favorite fitness purchase for myself to date! The mirror helps me to get a workout in with a busy schedule and I am actually sore the next day😅let's just say I'm trying to convince my family to join the alter me train.

They don't tell you that you don't get results without a long sales pitch. Not impressed. Don't have time for their "consultation", but it is the only way they will give you your results.

I have been with AlterMe for over 30 days. I just don’t think it’s worth the money. The DNA aspect of it is interesting, but if you sign up and do the additional DNA testing, there is nobody to walk you through what any of it means. Only the first DNA test when they do their sales pitch. I have an Oura ring that is, of course, not compatible for biometrics, but the alter may ring will pick up my aura ring exercises. My Oura ring does all the same things and I only pay like $6 dollars a month compared to the contract I’m in for alter me. My Oura ring tracks my glucose (for health monitoring not DM) where AlterMe does not. The Oura ring also has exercise tips and videos. You make your choice. I was vulnerable and seeking answers. Now stuck in a contract. I loved the idea that a workout plan with daily come up that aligns with my DNA. So far I haven’t seen anything that would correlate to that though. I’m still using it along with my other apps since I’m paying for it, but nothing too exciting about it that Oura ring can’t do.

They never call when they say they will. Impossible to talk to a human. Worst customer service I have ever experienced.

SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!

Update: Customer service did reach out and worked with me to get a reasonable resolution. I was fully refunded and was able to return the ring. It did not work as described for me and they did right the wrong.
I would say try the ring, maybe the newer versions are better and it could work for you, but if it doesn't do as described, like mine, contact customer service. Calling them is better than doing an online chat as always. They do offer a 30 day return policy so keep that in mind when purchasing.

If I could give it less than one star, I would. The programs never work. It asks me to submit my readiness daily. It hardly ever suggests my readiness and what my daily plan should be. I wear it daily, charge it, sleep with it on, and do not submerge in water yet still struggle to find the usability of this ring and the expensive program.
The tracking aspect of the ring is just not there. I would say this ring is overpriced, customer service does little to help you, they try to upsell you in a newer model instead of addressing the issues, and it just doesn't live up to the hype the present at the sale.
Do your research before buying this program and ring.

Update: Customer service manager did reach out to me over the phone. He is sending me the correct size in the new version of the ring and we will see how that one does with charging. He believes I just received two “bad apples” in the previous model ring and that I should not have an issue with the new version. I will say the customer service has been very good with helping me resolve these issues.

Worst ring ever! It sounded great at the beginning. Get DNA results, but can’t actually get them until you schedule an appointment with a counselor who is going to try to upsell you the ring…which is 4 times as much as some other name brand rings.

I get the ring, it stops charging after about 6 months. Customer service was great at the time and sent me a replacement ring, but already suspicious that something costing me $1600 is not working after 6
Months. The 2nd ring stopped charging after about 3 months. Mind you, this ring is not paid off yet and I’ve now gone through two rings stopping.

Customer service was quick to tell me they would send me a third ring, but a different style this time since the one I had been using was not being offered anymore. Customer service asks if “size 10 still works”. So I’m assuming that is the size of my current ring. I say yes the size is fine.

Third ring comes in and it doesn’t fit! So I check the size of the 1st and 2nd rings…they are a 13! Why on earth would they ask and send a ring size that is 3 smaller than what I currently have from them.

This has been the biggest headache from the beginning…expensive lesson learned the hard way. I have three rings that don’t work or can’t be worn…customer service is currently closed, so waiting for another response to this screw up…

I've been using AlterMe Ring for over 3 months and I have found it to be not even worth the price that you pay for this. I'm now going to switch over and try Hume Health.

If the information that they tell you each day, based on your DNA report for readiness, they don't actually tell you what in your DNA, based on the information that they're getting from the ring and why they're giving the guidance. They don't tell you why. They don't bring it in so you can make different choices and get healthier. It's just the same old thing each day, based on all I can tell, is your sleep.

I have a basic $50 watch from Amazon that almost tells me the same thing. Only a few times have there been differences between the two AlterMe and my little generic watch. I do not suggest this. It's not worth the money. I don't know about Hume Health yet because I'm just trying the Hume Band and the Pod but I would not suggest this after quite a bit of time. Whatever you do, don't do the financing because that doesn't work at all.

Not worth the money. I have been on the program for over 30 days and have not had contact with anyone from the company. I received an initial text from someone that stated she would be my advisor and that was it. Haven’t received my complete DNA results yet and that was not an inexpensive purchase. Basically this is the same program as the rest of them but packaged prettier. Too expensive for what you get. Save your money

I sent in my DNA not results at all, don't trust them.

First off - don't do more than the 40 deal. The 400 one provides you more - but nothing worth the extra money. I still don't know if there really is a food group setting me back? Nobody should eat high fats, I can tell you that for free. My consultation was scheduled twice, never got a phone call. And now they don't follow up because I am sure the system shows I had the consult. Absolutely feels like I got scammed.

I've had my Alter Me ring for five months and it started taking forever to charge, and it would need charging twice a day. I chatted with the Alter Me team and did a lot of troubleshooting with them, but eventually they decided I needed to replace my ring for a hardware issue. It was really easy to return (free of charge), and set the new ring up. So far its working beautifully, but its been less than a week. I'm extremely happy with how responsive the team was, how helpful in trouble-shooting, and the return was super easy and fast! I am so happy with the customer support and I LOVE the ring! It especially helps when I'm sore or just need a break from my workouts to do yoga or active stretch. I definitely recommend Alter Me and would totally buy it again! Its very expensive, but as far as I'm concerned, its well worth it!

Initially I was excited, but it is hard to wait in line for someone to trouble shoot my issues. I had to upgrade my phone which helped, but any time I have a question you have two choices: wait on hold or ask for a call back. The callback never comes and I think there aren’t enough help available to customers. As I write this review I’ve waited close to an hour because if you ask for a callback you may not get one.

Apparently their whole model is to tell you literally what you have heard from every diet program you have ever seen and to talk over, gaslight, and mansplain any objections you have for being treated just like everyone else regardless of your so-called "results" until you buy more stuff or hang up on them. Pro-tip... Have a smart watch, ring or even old school pedometer? Ever heard of balanced nutrition? That's all there is. You're welcome.

Great customer service. Resolved issue quickly and professionally.

Waited for 2 months to get a report. Then was told that Had to talk to someone to get the report. It took some time for me to get a link and look up the report during the call. It might have gone better if I had a chance to view the report beforehand and be prepare questions. I was refused to get a detailed genetic report on some tested alleles, was told that it came with the next level- almost $ 2k more. This does not seem right, why not give the detailed report instead of just general information? Not surprisingly, the call's main purpose was a sales pitch to buy another product.
