I chose Angel Motorcycle training , after being recommended by a friend who owned his own riding school(he couldn't take me as he had retired).
From initial contact and doing my CBT training, to passing my A licence, I found all at Angel to be professional, friendly , encouraging and helpful.
At no point in my journey with Angel (over 6 months or so it took) did I find , hear or witness anyone being spoken to or treat in a manner that was not professional and friendly.
As a student you want to progress and do well , the owners and all instructors and staff want the very best for you at all times, they go "the extra mile" to encourage you. Because they are all bikers too...
If you have any issues or questions, you can talk to anyone there & I guarantee they will do there utmost to help.
This is what my experience was , and lots of folk I know have been here and said exactly the same .
100percent recommended.

Cannot praise the instructors enough. Highly knowledgeable, understanding, and patient. Had to be with me failing mod 2 twice for foot downs. All my own fault for not putting into practice my tuition on test day. Succumbed to target fixation! My instructors... Lisa, John and Keith were always friendly, constructively critical, gave me clear direction and not least a good laugh! Passed my mod 2 first time and all credit goes to them. Book yourself up you won't be disappointed!

Had a great 1-1 refresher training with Keith and as a female rider everyone was very friendly that I came across, even the other instructors John and Lisa took time to speak with me and share their tips and experience. Really lovely team and would definitely recommend. Good facilities with good bikes and decent yard space for low speed training.

I went with Angel after a recommendation from a friend, from the cbt through to a full licence the experience was brilliant. The instructors were amazing and we had a good laugh along the way as we learnt. Can’t recommend this training school enough. Their and their instructors dedication is second to none

I went with Angel to renew my CBT. Had a great day, the instructor was brilliant and gave me the confidence to go for my mod 1 and mod 2.
I had previously given up after struggling with a different school as the bikes were too heavy for me.
Angel had an MT 03 which suited me much better (I'm only 5ft 2 and my confidence was low). I enjoyed all my lessons - even the mod 1. I struggled with u turns and it took me a while too get the figure of 8s but Lisa was brilliant at getting me through this. No nonsense and honest feedback which really helped. They have to ensure you are safe before going on the road which is a massive responsibility for them. I felt they didn't rush me, listened and we always had a laugh. Only two students on a lesson with one instructor so that was really good. The other school I tried had four students on a lesson which i also struggled with.
I passed my mod 1 first time which amazed me! But this was down the teaching from Lisa. I passed my mod 2 second time which was a massive achievement for me. I doubt I would have got through had it not been for the instructors at Angel. Definitely recommend them - especially for women if your confidence is a bit low.

Amazing staff and service was 10/10 took three 2 hour lessons with with Lisa then John and they where both grate at explaining every thing and answered question i had perfectly couldn't thank them enought and to bev for booking test and reminds and updates for bad weather as I done it

I undertook DAS training with Angel in late 2025 and I cannot commend them hihgly enough. All of the instructors I met were.proffessional and highly skilled and with their help i was able to pass mod 1 and mod 2 first time after a couple of months. The instructors were very astute at recognising areas in need of improvement and would tailor lessons and feedback accordingly.

Staff are patient,informative and extremely knowledgeable around the safe and secure way of riding. Nothing is too much trouble and John makes a canny cuppa

I did my direct access with angel after doing my CBT at another local company.
As a female and also a driving instructor I like to think I have a good understanding of what’s involved in instructing students on how to be safe on the roads.
As well as being able to see the different teaching methods and techniques used to adapt learning methods to each student.

The reason I originally moved to angel was due to experiencing a negative teaching style from the other local school. I can honestly say my experience with angel was great, understandably I had a great deal of road knowledge but little bike experience. I was in a group with other less experienced riders/ drivers and can say that the instructors were very knowledgeable, friendly and sometimes to the point, yes, but never nasty, mean or patronising (like I experienced at the other school)

Had the best experience while doing my DAS with angel motorcycle training.
Great instructors passing on their knowledge and experience and giving me the confidence to ride on the road in today’s environment.
Ensured I was ready to complete both MOD 1 and MOD 2 all in a few weeks of starting my training which I believe shows the instruction was at a high level.
All bikes are well maintained and safe to ride.
From the first day to my last day of training it felt like a family and welcome you in like your a part of that family and will always be willing to help and give advice to get you on the road and fully licensed.
If you are thinking of doing any motorcycle training give these guys a shout you definitely will not be disappointed

I have just recently gained my full A2 Licence with Angels. Back in January i did my CBT with a different company and was treated horrifically to the point where the CBT was terminated for no justified reason. I was then recommended angels by a friend for how great they are especially with young female riders who may feel unsure or less confident. I have never been more grateful to be recommended a place. After getting through my CBT i waited a few months and began my lessons, every single instructor met me with an incredible level of patience and understanding, explaining things thoroughly and happy to answer any questions i had, about a month later and i have my licence! i think that definitely shows how great their teaching methods are considering i was really not the best at the start. aside from the teaching aspect, the atmosphere is great, i was treated just the same as everyone else, it can be difficult for female riders in such a male dominated hobby but everyone made me fit right in. Big thanks to Lisa, Keith and John for getting me through my mod 1 and 2 lessons!!!

I recently completed both my Mod 1 and Mod 2 motorcycle tests with Angel Motorcycle Training, and I couldn’t recommend them highly enough.

The whole team were brilliant from start to finish. Their tuition was excellent, clear, professional, and tailored to help build confidence and develop the skills needed to pass. They were always friendly, approachable, and down to earth, creating a relaxed learning environment that made training enjoyable rather than stressful.

Thanks to their support, guidance, and patience, I successfully passed both Mod 1 and Mod 2. If you’re looking for motorcycle training with instructors who genuinely care about helping you succeed, Angel Motorcycle Training is an excellent choice.

We cancelled our booked lessons, got a refund, and went to A1 instead. I would not recommend this school to other women.My best friend had a poor CBT experience elsewhere (not from Angel), so she went in to have a chat first. Because she is small, dyslexic, and has ADHD, we discussed the specific difficulties she faces. We were reassured the school would help her, so we booked six double lessons. During her first lesson with the owner, she found him patient and kind. They even had a giggle. She came back from that lesson determined and confident that she would overcome her difficulties.The female student had been riding a 125cc bike for a year with a motorcycle club and is confident on the roads. However, she struggled with slow movements, U-turns, and keeping her head up during tight corners, as well as remembering the exact order of OSM/PSL checks.Her second lesson was with a female instructor. When I picked the female student up, she was a crying mess. She is still struggling to rebuild her confidence after such a degrading lesson. The female instructor shouted at her and belittled her constantly without giving any positive feedback. After about 20 minutes, the female student's confidence shattered, causing her to make more mistakes. This resulted in the female instructor asking a question about white lines. The female student's brain panicked, and she did not understand the question, answering, "You don't cross white lines." The female instructor shouted back, "Did you even do your theory and Highway Code?" right in front of another student.The female student is dyslexic and worked her butt off to pass her theory test. How they thought shouting would help her improve, I do not know. She was too scared of being belittled to go back. I spoke to the owner myself. The owner explained that the female instructor was frustrated with the female student and lost her temper, suggesting we get her on a pushbike and redo her CBT.We also spoke to the other student who was in the lesson. He agreed that he did not like the female instructor's teaching methods. He mentioned he would need an extra lesson because he spent more time listening to her talk than doing practical work—an issue he did not have with the other instructors.Everyone has a bad day, but the female student is small and currently re-discovering her freedom after surviving serious domestic abuse. The last thing she needs is to be belittled with zero positivity thrown her way. I sat in the car watching, and I saw improvements in her every turn. She did not ride all the way to the fence because of rubbish piled up at the bottom end of the yard where they practice U-turns. The space is clearly not maintained well, as the debris has built up over time.Women should never bring another woman down. We were paying for professional guidance to identify issues, yes, but not to endure constant shouting and negative criticism. Additionally, the location is hard to find depending on which direction you approach from. They do send a text description on how to find it, which proves it is a known issue for many people.The female student never got to try a big bike or leave the yard to show them what she could actually do on the road. This might be a great school if you already drive a car and have no learning difficulties. But if you need actual support, I would not want to have this female instructor. She is the teacher and should know better; if you do not enjoy what you are learning, you will not retain the information.After a final conversation, they refunded the money without resolving the underlying issues, leaving her more emotionally damaged than when she arrived. For that, I am livid, which is why I decided to leave this negative review.1st Review was removed due to named instructors, this review has removed their names so I can give you the right to see my review.Response to Owner's Edit:It is funny you claim the other male student shouldn't be there, implying he should have passed his two-week course by the time of this post. He was definitely not happy. He either lied to you to tell you what you wanted to hear, or you are misrepresenting it, because he was not happy with the female instructor.I am livid because we had an explicit conversation about her specific needs before the female student ever started, and your business reassured us this would not be an issue. It became an issue. I stand by my statement that we now have to rebuild the confidence that the female instructor's behaviour destroyed. Shouting "HAVE YOU EVEN DONE YOUR THEORY?" in front of others at someone with severe dyslexia who worked incredibly hard to pass is demoralising and unacceptable.To quote the female student's own words regarding your statement: "She shouted a lot and wasn't kind."

I am currently undergoing my DAS training with Angel after doing my CBT at another school and can honestly say that all the instructors have been amazing, encouraging, and helpful. As a woman, I am not finding this easy at all, but they are always pushing me to be better and trying to build on my confidence. I passed Module 1 on my first attempt and am now working towards hopefully passing Module 2. With the help of the instructors, I know I can and will succeed. I would recommend them to anyone, regardless of skill level, as they have the patience of saints—they’ve certainly needed it with me. A special shout out to Lisa, Keith, John, and Michael—thank you all so much.

Amazing experience with Angel motorcycle training completing my CBT with Graeme.
A few years ago I done my CBT with a different local motorcycle training school and it was nothing in comparison. Far better experience and feel for it through Angel it’s even made me book my DAS in right away. Graeme is a top instructor, good banter and keeps you safe. Highly recommend.

Ian and Graham were great, funny guys, lots of patience and encouragement, If I had any advice for anyone just starting out, you'll learn more on the road ride than you will in the courtyard so don't be afraid to get out there, they'll look after ya

Did my DAS with Angel from CBT through to getting my full license.

Having completed my CBT with another school previously, I must say that Angel carry out the CBT to a really high standard, Michael did my CBT and was great also mad ethe experience enjoyable and fun.

I had never been on a big bike before so started on an MT-03 for one lesson then onto the MT-07. My Mod1 lessons were done by Lisa and she was really informative, explaining things really well, with her training I only needed 4 lessons and passed first time with zero minors.

Onto my Mod2 which I did with Jon and Keith. Both of them really knowledgeable and explained any mistakes I had made (there was plenty to talk about on my first couple of lessons!) I did another 6 lessons for my Mod2 as there was a few things I needed to work on. They gave great advice and worked with me on any issues I had. I failed my Mod2 the first time around but this was a stupid mistake on my part, one serious fault and only 1 minor, so it's clear the training was great. Learnt my lesson and happy to say passed the second time around.

The bikes can have issues but these are training bikes, they get dropped and abused by people who have no idea how to ride, so of course don't expect to learn on a showroom bike. There might be a particular bike you just don't get on with and if you make it known the instructors will always try to put you on the bike that you're most comfortable on.

As a " pensioner" I finally grew a pair and sought out Angel Motorcycle Training, ( they come highly recommended).
Yesterday I did my Cbt, I was quite nervous after not being on a bike for 40 plus years, after an hour or so Graeme and Alan were having a good giggle, it helped calm the nerves.
After yard training, lunch, then out on the road, what a feeling.
Highly enjoyable, fun instructors, knowledgeable, and professional.
What a blast it was, I'm aching all over from turning my head so much.
I'm off too get my own kit, do my theory/ hazard perception( yawn).
Then I'll be back for Mod 1 and 2. So excited like a giddy kid.

I went with Angel because they had a partnership with Newcastle Honda ( if you past your full bike test with Angel you got £500 off a new Honda bike ) so I signed up for mod 1 & 2 and was given a black Yamaha Fazer to learn on. Mod 1 lessons started and I wasn’t the most confident of riders so took a bit of getting used too. Angel would book me a test in a few weeks down the line so there was goal to work towards only for the test to be kicked further down the line as Lisa or Keith would say “ I wasn’t ready for my test “ this happen a couple of times and obviously they are the instructors so didn’t question it. Then three things happened that completely changed my view of Angel.
1. Before your mod 1 test you have a mod 2 lesson on public roads as you have to ride to the test centre and back. The day I arrive for my mod 2 lesson I got told that someone the day before had dropped the Fazer and it skidded down the yard but the bike was fine. In my limited knowledge This was not the case there was problems with the bike before we even left the yard ( cutting out and getting it to start ) managed to get away and start the lesson then every junction, traffic lights the bike would cut out and the would be a issue trying to start it. Then we pulled over to the side of the road to discover there was a problem with the kick stand sensor and the clutch lever and cable. Managed to complete that lesson and I had another lesson booked in for the following Sunday.

2. The following Sunday arrived and I went to the lesson as normal again on the Fazer Keith said “ someone had looked at the bike and it was working fine now “ started my lesson and everything was going ok until I done a u turn and I got too close to bike in front panicked grabbed the front brake and the bike fell from beneath me I managed to jump off the bike. at that point my confidence was zero I was about to walk off the yard and quit there and then Keith persuaded me otherwise the lesson ended and I was told again that I wasn’t ready for the mod 1 test I was upset at that decision in my view it’s because I dropped the bike, a bike that I kept having issues with.

3. One day I was passing Honda Newcastle decided to call in and make more equerries Abort the £500 off a new bike. Graeme the salesman then said how you finding the Honda to learn on I said I’m not learning on a Honda I am learning on a Yamaha Fazer. Graeme then said you should be learning on a Honda to qualify for the £500 off he also went on to say that Keith should of signed me up with the Honda training program and that I would of got a voucher to redeem for the £500 off and that Angel had been given a brand new Honda hornet for students to learn on. I went back to Keith with this information and was told that he sort it out this didn’t happen

With Everything that happened i messaged Keith to say that I wasn’t going any further with them Keith did say not to quit but my mind was made up.

Subsequently I went with another training school who give me the confidence and belief and have now passed my mod 1 & 2 and now have a full bike license.

It is with a sense of responsibility that I feel compelled to express my feedback regarding the recent CBT training experience my son underwent with your company. While the instructor exhibited a satisfactory level of competence, I observed certain discrepancies in the training standards that gave rise to concerns regarding alignment with DVSA guidelines, as readily available online.

Of particular note was the grouping of students, wherein my son found himself amidst a cohort of four individuals with a single instructor during the road ride segment. This arrangement, compounded by environmental hazards such as the glaring sun, raised apprehensions regarding safety protocols and personalized attention to each learner's needs.
