Bought a bed
Bought a bed, bed is unsuitable. Argos said that became they had removed the packaging they would not collect or refund, but as it had not been used, would make an exception. Over 3 weeks of chats online, promises of collection dates, no one showing, rebook collection dates, still no one showing, repeated calls and online chats being promised the world, and nothing. Finally told, after ordering a more suitable bed that they won't collect or refund. I'm in my 80s, live in a small retirement cottage, and now have a bed taking up the living room, I am unable to sit in there, let alone watch the TV or have guests visit, and am over £1000 out of pocket. This whole thing has been a nightmare from start to finish. Take your business elsewhere. Terrible company, and impossible to connect to someone locally to get any information.

Went to Argos Hessle today to buy a new phone. Viki helped me through all the process, she was very helpful, very knowledgeable. Argos should be proud to have staff like her. Thank you. B. Cooke.
Invoices for business customers - wake up Argos - it's 2026 !
Wow- i expected Argos to have a higher rating than this when i clicked on trust pilot !
So I simply wanted to raise an issue but could not see anywhere on the site so I resorted to trust pilot.
As a general customer (and a business user), why don't Argos automatically send a pdf of the invoice ? You have to request an invoice from them ? - You have to enter your name address etc and your email address .
Subsequently, when the invoice arrives, it's not a pdf, but simply an email. So, for 1000's of users who print out or in today's modern way upload a pdf into an accounting system, or share / store a pdf file, they just cannot do this. The only option for me is to screens shot the email and upload it as a picture into my accounting system.
I think Argos are behind the times here - many lesser known/small business websites allow users to simply print / download an invoice, so why can't a company like Argos do this too
Please Argos - read this and act. 🙏
Idiots ! Why use Evri for a £900 order?
Wow - this company is heading for bankruptcy.
£900 order.
Delivery from Birmingham hub to London
£900 order and Argos chose Evri
13 1/2 hour delivery window
Of course never happened.
Why not use an average delivery partner?
Sainsbury- a £70 order gas a one hour window and telephone customer service support
Now I have to claim a non delivery via Amex.
Costs everyone money
Don’t buy from Argos - heading towards BHS / Debenhams you name it - but out of business solely by skimping on the basics - such as delivery.

Ordered a new washing machine and arranged delivery with installation. Apart from having to disconnect the old machine Argos did everything else. New machine arranged as promised, I had advance warning of when they would arrive. The two gentlemen who delivered and fitted were lovely - installed it, tested it, checked everywhere for any leaks (none found) and took all the packaging plus old washer away.
5* service, very pleased. I can see lots of negative reviews, maybe it depends whereabouts you are. I’m in mid Wales, delivery was from Ebbw Vale depot and was spot on!
DO NOT BUY FROM ARGOS
DO NOT BUY FROM ARGOS.
WOULD STILL GIVE ZERO STARS AGAIN SAME ONGOING ISSUE AS PREVIOUSLY REPORTED. I PLACED AN ORDER FOR SAME DAY DELIVERY THEY TOOK MY MONEY, RECEIVED TEXT MESSAGE ABOUT AN HOUR INTO DELIVERY TIMD SLOT SAYING MY ORDER IS NOW CANCELLED AND TO REARRANGE DELIVERY. I RANG CUSTOMER SERVICES REQUESTING REFUND TO BE TOLD OVER AND OVER AND OVER THAT MY BANK HAD TO REQUEST REFUND, I SAID NO! BANKS DO NOT REQUEST REFUNDS YOU ARE TO PROCESS THE REFUND BACK TO MY CARD AND SHE KEPT SAYING NO YOUR BANK REQUEST REFUND I THOUGHT WHAT THE HELL IS SHE ON ABOUT. I TOLD HER DO MY REFUND NOT ONLY THAT SHE REFUSED TO SAYING WHY THE ITEMS HAD BEEN RETURNED TO WAREHOUSE. SO I HAVE RUNG ABOUT 4 TIMES NOW SINCE THEN, 16 DAYS LATER TO BE TOLD REFUND HAS WAS DONE 15 DAYS AGO WHICH HAS NOT, THERE IS NO TRACE OF IT, I REQUESTED REFERENCE NUMBER (ARN REF NO.) TODAY FOR REFUND, YURI COULD NOT GIVE ONE, SHE HADNT GOT A CLUE, WHILST ON THE PHONE TO HER I RECEIVED TEXT MESSAGE STATING THEY HAVE NOW REFUNDED £7.95 THE DELIVERY CHARGE ONLY, INSTEAD OF £170.00 THE AMOUNT I PAID, THEY HAVE NOT REFUNDED FOR THE GOODS I PAID FOR ONLY THE DELIVERY CHARGE, I PAID FOR GOODS IN GOOD FAITH NOT ONLY DID THEY TAKE MY MONEY AND ARE REFUSING TO GIVE MY MONEY BACK BUT THEY HAVE ALSO RETURNED THE GOODS TO THE WAREHOUSE. THEY ARE IN VIOLATION OF MY CONSUMER CREDIT RIGHTS, THEY HAVE STOLE FROM ME, THEY HAVE SCAMMED ME AND IM REPORTING THEM. I AM RINGING POLICE. ITS THEFT. I WANT COMPENSATION.
THEIR ADVERTS SHOULD BE TAKEN OFF AIR.
THEY ARE THIEVING AND SCAMMING THE PUBLIC.
TIME TO PROCEED FURTHER NOW. THEIR TRADING PRACTICES ARE ILLEGAL.

I bought a computer 27th July and it stopped working on the 3rd August, I took it in and they send it of to be repaired, they said I will get an email stating that is off to be repaired, I never received one, went back a week later and was told it still being repaired, went back 2 weeks later still the same answer and all this time I never received one email from them, I been now waiting a month went back then I was told they can not repair it, so I asked for a refund they said they can’t give one until the broken computer has been returned to them, I finally got my refund the about 2 weeks later I finally got a email (the 1st and only one) saying that my computer has been fixed and ready for pick up, I ask them that I’ve already received a refund and now you’re telling me it’s been fixed? Their answer was that it hasn’t been fixed and that is a genetic email….they are the worst..
It’s like they hate their customers.
I have bought regularly from Argos over the last 30 years. Their in-store support can be a little over cautious should you require a return, but otherwise very polite and helpful.
This review is for my experience with their customer service after having issues with their Dynamax own brand treadmill.
It developed a fault after a few months and was eventually repaired. That took a while and after the repair, the treadmill was worse. I requested to reject the treadmill. The agent was unhinged. Completely hostile and refused the return stating I have to get it checked again by the manufacturer. Under the sale of goods act 2015, this is completely false. Several times they ignored me and stated they’d pass me on to the manufacturer and I had to tell them quite abruptly to stop. I asked to speak to a manager and they refused stating it’d be the same outcome, but put me on hold for a while, then came back and said as a courtesy and a one time gesture they’d refund. Absolute clap trap gaslighting me into thinking it’s some kind of favour when they have that legal obligation.
They agreed a collection window of 11 hours. Between 7am and 6pm. I’ve already had two days off work getting the treadmill repaired. First repair was cancelled due to vehicle breakdown. Again quite ridiculous and refused to give me that in writing. They don’t do email. But they took my email at the start of the call, so I dug in my heels again and told them they’d have to. Which they did. I have no idea why it was so drawn out and difficult. I find Argos useful in my area, but I won’t ever be buying a large item from them again and I’ll think twice before buying anything else. Awful. Truly appalling service. Completely change my positive view of the company.
Inaccessible customer service
I ordered a fridge freezer for my mother but forgot to click on the button for installation and collection of the old one. The customer service number would not allow me to speak to a person and automated responses couldn't deal with it. I went into the store and a lovely member of staff managed to speak to someone but despite her very best efforts the customer services telephone person couldn't help except to suggest that my 95 year old disabled mother should refuse delivery. The store staff member emphasised that this was unreasonable in the circumstances but the response was that the systems were being upgraded anyway so they wouldn't be able to help until one or two hours later. Two hours later I phoned from home spoke to a human being at last but they couldnt tell me how to cancel the order and in any case it would be another four hours before they could even access it. I can't find a way to cancel the order as I used the guest checkout and not an Argos account. The follow up phone survey asking me to rate my experience refused to accept my one star rating, saying it was an invalid response. I wish I'd checked Trustpilot first. The lovely staff member in Slough Argos deserves five stars and a medal but overall Argos has zero from me. I suggest it is ignoring the requirements of the disability act and does not act in its customers' best interests.
Service is shocking
Service is shocking! Been trying to organise a return the whole day but no one speaks English and they just keep you on silent or hang up!!! I'm going to be left with this machine £400 down the drain!!!

Wasted hours of my time cutting off the phone then chat being illogical only to connect with someone who shouldn't have been able to convey contempt through such a brief exchange but did
Brief because without being able to provide an order number (my problem being argos did not supply one) he couldn't help. I would have to speak to the store - my other problem being store would not connect me to a person. Hence being patronised by chat. Again, 'Not my problem' from anything BUT customer services who simply signed off no goodbye or thanks for calling or sorry. Height of rudeness. Back to John Lewis
appalling customer service
appalling customer service - ordered 2 items, only one delivered. They have don't nothing to rectify this - cannot speak to any one who can d anything about it. Just chat bots and people with no authority or understanding of the situation. will never order from them again
Argos managed to miss the delivery day completely
I intentionally booked a delivery day (any time between 0730 and 2100) for my order so I could receive the goods at the optimum time. Using the slowest form of Royal Mail parcel delivery from anywhere in the UK, six days is ample time to receive the goods, so I am horrified (and very angry) that Argos managed to miss the delivery day completely, causing all kinds of knock-on issues. This is a totally unacceptable service in this day and age.
If I could give NO stars I would
If I could give NO stars I would. Since changing companies this company has gone to shams. Paying money off monthly to get my buy now pay later bill down. Only for them to steal £285 and not be reflected on any off the apps or taken from outstanding balance. This company now will purposely steal money from you and try to get away with it. Avoid at all costs.
Absolute failure of a system between…
Absolute failure of a system between Argos and Domestic & General—unusable serviceI bought multiple high-value items from Argos and took out the recommended insurance through Domestic & General (D&G). The setup and communication between these two companies is an absolute shambles. When you look at the D&G portal, it does not state the specific items you are paying to cover. Instead, it lists completely vague descriptions like "gaming" alongside obscure reference numbers. When questioned, D&G staff claimed they can only display the generic information that Argos provides them. To make matters worse, while trying to sort this out, two separate D&G customer service agents hung up on me.Trying to resolve this with Argos is impossible. Their automated telephone system demands an order number, but because it fails to recognise older order numbers, the system completely cuts the call off automatically. There is zero option to bypass the bot and speak to a human being. You cannot sell expensive items and insurance, and then completely isolate your customers behind broken automated phone lines and unhelpful customer service staff. Both Argos and Domestic & General need to fix this system integration immediately. A manager from Argos needs to look at the communication logs for order history and contact me to resolve this.
Because I’ve have had no luck on the phone, I will use these alternative channels to bypass their automated systems if there management complaints manager doesn’t contact me in 48 hours of 02/09/2026:
Sainsbury's Corporate Escalation: Since Argos is owned by Sainsbury's, I’ll email their executive office directly.
Executive customer relations teams have the power to bypass the standard phone queues. Everyone can try emailing the CEO's office at simon.roberts at sainsburys.co.uk
The WhatsApp Channel: Argos manages an automated but escalatable WhatsApp helper.
Texting 0345 640 2020 allows you to type "Speak to an agent" repeatedly to break through the bot system without being disconnected.
D&G Formal Complaint: To get D&G to accurately list your items, file an official complaint via their online complaints portal or customerrelations at domesticandgeneral.com
They are strictly regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and must respond to formal insurance complaints within set legal timelines.

One star is too generous
One star is too generous – two days completely wasted
I have never experienced customer service as frustrating as this.
I ordered three storage boxes. One arrived without the essential locking clips, so I arranged a replacement. The replacement arrived today with exactly the same clips missing.
The driver told me a complete replacement would be arranged and that someone would return by around 1:30–2pm. I waited all day. Nobody came.
I had also paid someone to be available to help me organise and fill the boxes, so I have lost money as well as an entire day.
When I finally managed to get through to Customer Services, I was told my complaint had been escalated and that a manager would call me. I was also promised a courtesy call at 6pm to check that the manager had contacted me.
Neither call happened.
Then, at around 4pm, I received a message saying that I had cancelled the collection. I did not cancel it. I was waiting for Argos to turn up.
I have now wasted two days dealing with what should have been a very simple problem. I still need the box, and instead of simply resolving the issue, I am being told I have to wait again for a collection and refund.
The worst part isn't even the faulty £31 box. It's the constant promises that aren't kept, the lack of communication, the wasted time and now an inaccurate record suggesting that I cancelled something I was waiting for Argos to do.
I have never ordered from Argos before. I normally use Amazon, but I happened to find these boxes on Argos and decided to give them a try.
Never again.
There is something seriously wrong with Argos customer service. It is simply not what it should be. My advice to anyone considering ordering from Argos: don't.
Not happy
No, no, and once again no!
I have just placed an order for a vacuum cleaner. The funds have been debited from my bank account, but I have received neither a proof of payment nor a receipt.
When I called the helpline, I was told that my money would only be returned within the next 5 working days. I am left with no immediate refund and no product. I will never shop at Argos again.
Don't buy from here
Bought a cooker 4 months ago..developed a water stain on the hob complained to argos they sent an engineer and they dont want to know since they are not even prepared to chase up the engineer report i am furious and will never buy a cooker from them again..ive had really bad customer service
