Delivery nightmare - entirely unhelpful
Seems we aren't alone in our disbelief at the terrible manner of the delivery drivers, reading other reviews. Ours has left the goods on a pallet abutting the pavement, blocked and damaged our gates and when explained that there was nobody available to receive the pallet (just a mother and newborn) responded that it was "not his problem". Charming. This company has a lot to learn about customer service, we will not be returning to find out how they get on.

We are sorry for any inconvenience regarding the delivery and saddened to hear of the negative experience with our delivery partner. We do appreciate your feedback so that we can try and ensure the best possible service going forward.
For future reference insofar as the pallet delivery, the delivery information on our website does state that "the drivers are contracted to deliver the item to your property and must use a pallet truck to lift/move the goods which are normally quite heavy and can be up to 1mtr wide (occasionally larger). If they cannot operate the pallet truck safely due to gravel/stone drives, steps, or slopes as examples they will only be able to leave the item at the first available access point. They will try to assist as best they can but can only stay at each property for a limited period. They cannot bring the goods inside your house and will leave the goods with you on the delivery pallet".

The driver who delivered our Limestone…
The driver who delivered our Limestone fire place was very unhelpful and when I requested to exactly what was in the create he stated only deliver the goods. However the driver who delivered the gas fire was really polite and helpful. No instructions on how to assemble the surround. Balanced flue gas required a little opening than surround was designed for. After quite a few adjustments we managed to overcome the problems. Overall a poor service.

The drivers do generally work as part of a national courier service and while they will have some details relating to the consignment, they do not have professional product knowledge to the same extent as our sales team.

Inaccruate delivery lead times.
It feels like they draw you in with inaccurate delivery dates. What was initially listed as 3-5 days quickly became 10-12, then became 30 days without any form of update. I had to calls 4 times for an update, so I cancelled the order.
I think improved communication and a bit of honesty are very much needed.

As we're sure you can appreciate, our range of gas inset fires includes both open and glass fronted designs with their own benefits. The reason that there are strict fitting requirements for any gas fire (not just the model which you have ordered), including hearth sizes and clearances to combustibles, is in recognition of these being living flame appliances.
There are retailers who will sell fire guards and similar if, for example, a customer has young children or pets and wishes to install additional protection.

Advertised as delivery wfithin 3-5 working days. Although prices are very competitive expected delivery dates are way off. Ordered fire 13th Jan and then received e mail to say delivery date within 10-15 working days. Today is the 15th working day and no notification of delevery yet. Very, very slow delivery.

Ordered in November, we waited nearly 7 weeks for delivery. However, Direct Fireplaces kept us informed of progress and were extremely helpful throughout. The goods arrived on the agreed date and were very well packaged. We employed a professional for the installation, even so, the Manufacturer's instructions could have been clearer. Overall, the fire and whole set up works well and looks very good. We are very pleased with our purchase.

Instore purchase was fine, no idea on delivery date
Instore purchase was fine, but we have had not updates on when the product will be delivered, which is really inconvenient.
I asked if there was going to be a New Year sale, but i was told no. However, 2 days later, there was a sale on! Fortunately, the model i purchased was not in that sale and so I luckily did not miss out.
