Some big businesses can’t be trusted

To whom it may concern,

Re - Above Complaint, I called Halfords Foss Island York on Friday the 23/02/24 spoke to Sharaz to book a appointment to replace a battery for my Motorhome, I requested the Bosch battery, actually Sharaz didn’t furnish his name on the Friday, Sharaz requested we don’t come on Saturday due to the Gym and limited parking, so we arranged to visit on Monday the 26/02/24 @ 11.00. We arrived on Monday and couldn’t get any parking and decided to Park in a delivery section for Halfords (pictures attached), I went into the shop and approached the Manager at the desk to query my battery replacement as per text.

The Manager in the shop had no idea why we were there, at no stage did he explain that Halfords run 2 business named Halfords like separate businesses as the one was retail shop and the other a garage, Halfords your customers are not aware how you operate, I showed the retail manager the text, he advised that they didn’t book in the visit as I should have paid prior to visit, I explained I’m not aware of Halfords operations as I’m only the customer, that wasn’t taken in a good light and he marched out and went to the other Halfords entrance, which is for the garage (which is next door) he didn’t advise me on what he was doing and marched off, returned a few minutes later to say I should go next door and speak to Sharaz. I went next door spoke to Sharaz as per the Friday call, Sharaz did remember talking to me but could not remember I requested a Bosch Battery ( I personally think he wasn’t to bothered at initial point of communication) so today I confronted him about it as he couldn’t remember I wanted a Bosch battery, he mentioned he could get one however I’d have to return in a hour, I advised Sharaz of the poor parking conditions at the Foss Island stores, Sharaz advised I stay parked where I was parked to fit the battery.

The staff for Halfords have lots of Customer Service levels to be taught when approaching your stores, as both Managers should think of re-evaluating their levels of customer services ? During these Shenanigans from Halfords a person with a blower was trying to tidy up the amount of leaves lying about, why I have no idea as the wind was blowing, however had the individual just used his blower under the vehicle there would have been no issue, however this was just another issue experienced at your store.

This was the business who took pictures of my camper to show the council, as they felt they could do there work ? At this stage I was reversed onto Halfords property ?

My complaint is, I wanted the Bosch battery and not the Halfords battery, I paid £175 for the battery and installation however I’m not happy after discussing with Sharaz that I wanted the Bosch Battery, however I wasn’t going to wait another hour after I had booked a appointment with Halfords ! At no stage during my Friday did Sharaz mention to me the price was for a Halfords battery !! Then after leaving Halfords I receive this text

My experience is one I will find difficult to forget as iv never received this poor level of service !!

I then contacted the customer service line, spoke to Mohammad and requested he submit a complaint due to the bad level of service I experienced at Halfords Foss Island, York, I don’t think that fu sales will be done at Halfords, and I will surely update friends and family of my experience from yourselves, I’m thinking of taking these issues to Social Media to voice my serious concerns after I had already discussed my order with an actual Manager !! But the standard of customer services was not a positive experience. I’m really annoyed over my experience with Halfords today and hope these issues can be addressed and resolved ?

Windscreen Repair

So nice to be able to write a good review for a change. I had my windscreen repaired by Lauren at Halfords Harlow and I was really pleased with the outcome. I cannot see where the chip had been.

Don't Join motoring club Terrible

Joined motoring club, not used it for anything, to buy or fittings, I cancelled with them November 2022 only to be told I cant cancel as I have had it for over 2 weeks ???, In the meantime taking into account even if a year later 2023 it had ended they are still applying for money from my account all the time,
Not got a membership with them, contacted them again today to get some stupid machine only to speak to a customer service rep, who couldn't sort the problem and now had forwarded it on to someone else who will get back to me in the next few days, worst company ever

Wat een slecht bedrijf zeg Jesus met geweld de winkel uitgesmeten omdat ze niet even snel een lamp en spatbord op de fiets Willen zetten en omdat dit de 4 de keer was dat ik naar dat slecht bedrijf ging was ik boos en omdat ik dan dezelfdehandelingen tikdens de fidts kopen was het ja nee dat is snel gedaan zit er zo op komt goed hidden we 1 week gewacht was het nog steeds niet then hebben we de fiets zonder spatbord en lamp opgehaald omdat hij gebruikt moest worden inmiddels al 3 keer meer geweest elke keer een slap excuus

a once great company-very poor service

I ordered a very expensive bike locks which was due to arrive for a specific date but failed to do so. the Issue was not that it failed to arrive when stated but both "halfords" and their courier's "website" kept showing my order was ready before or on the date it was due to be delivered.

DHL's customers number asked for my shipment number and repeated exactly what appeared on their website that my order was due on a certain date now passed. no option to speak a human being on the other end. The only way was to e-mail them and
to their credit they e-mailed me back with 24hrs informing me that they did not have my order.

When i tried halford's online chat it just kept referring me to FAQ or telling me "i don't understand the question".

Fortunately, i had better luck with their customer service number. The Customer service advisor apologized and raised a case and gave me the case number for reference ( as they do not send out e-mail confirmations as i was told by the advisor). the advisor told me someone will contact me within 72 hour, no one did.

i called them 3 days later to be offered a choice, full refund with 24hrs or speed up my delivery. i chose the first option and was told i would receive an e-mail confirmation of our discussion in 1 hr but in true fashion i did not.

what i did get was a message from DHL informing me they had my order and will deliver as soon as they could.

next day, out of the blue, i got a message from DHL telling me they were delivering mid day that same day. luckily someone was home to receive the package.

Happy to finally receive my package, my happiness was short lived as my order was damaged.

i eventually took it to a Halfords store where they informed me my item was out of stock and found me an alternative replacement. thank you Halford's store.

I did e-mail my experience and complaint to Halford's customer service and to my surprise i got a call from them 24hrs later.

The customer service advisor was asked me if i received my item and and when i told her i did she asked if she could close my case, no apology. after i mentioned to her that there was apology and that's the least she could do then she apologized.

I'm sorry to rant on about this but as someone who has worked in customer service for a big part of his life, customer's can forgive a company for delays in their orders and faulty products but failing provide customers with up to date information on the statues of their order and not sending out e-mail confirmation of any discussions with customer service is really unbelievable for a company like Halfords.

A company that has been around since i was a boy and prides itself in its customer service and products.

come on Halford's being more interested in closing a case rather than apologizing and even offering some form of compensation.

Halfords and DHL Unreliable Customer Service.

Ordered some cycling clothing on line from Halfords my delivery was due on Monday 15th January 2024 by DHL after 7 days of waiting and numerous calls to Halfords so called customer service no further forward"s .The only major difference in both company's so called customer service is that with Halfords you can speak with a person and DHL is a 3 stage automated service which is as good as a chocolate tea pot!!

Ordered some car ramps never came, no refund.

Ordered some car ramps, promised next day delivery, a week later still with DHL and customer services did nothing and no explanation. Went in to the store and bought them in the end. Trying to get a refund is ridiculous, its been a week and there seems to be no-one in charge at what's laughingly called "customer service". Only spent 40 minutes on the line today, total calls must be hours worth, i will never use them again.
**UPDATE** Finally got a reply by e-mail though it was supposed to be by phone, DHL admit they lost them [not my problem] and now its another 3-5 day wait for a refund. If you order your stuff online and it doesn't arrive, good luck.

Busy store went in for a tiny front…

Busy store went in for a tiny front light bulb said only come in two's if I joined their CAR CLUB would get all discounts so I did that big mistake. They do a mini check of car and fit items free. Bought 2 bulbs for £3 approx they charged me £18 to fit could have done that myself. l asked if they had a membership card they sold me a gift card which I did not notice and charged me £20. Staff member fitted the one bulb . I also a new battery and other things. As I was hurried along because they were busy I took what I the card and put it on a shelf and went back into the store. I then left with they other items I bought and drove off when I went to get the gift card it was gone some member of staff took it as I absolutely knew were I put it. Although I was within the 14 day cooling off period they said l could only cancel the subscription online if I paid back the discountedI items I bought tried that but It wouldn't let me cancel. I went to the store as you cannot contact them direct its through a contact centre so I had to keep going to and fro arguing with them. I phoned their Head Office spoke to some supposedly understanding lady she said send her all the details in an email with receipts and proof which I did and she gave me her email address which came up on my computer as being correct regardless later when I looked it wasn't sent and I tried again and again so that shows you how SHADY they are Horrendous Company STAY WELL CLEAR !!!

Dashcam fitted

Once again a company tries to make their business more efficient to the detriment of the customer. All I would like to do is make an appointment at a particular local store to get a dash cam fitted. Can I contact them directly no, can the central switchboard get me through no, can central switchboard send my details to get the store to contact me yes. Oh wait, does anyone call me back no.
Cost cutting and efficiencies only work if you have the staff and infrastructure to handle them. If the attempt today is unsuccessful you have lost another customer !!

UPDATE
Changed to 4 stars, eventually got a call back from local store after several days. The work was carried out perfectly as hoped. The local store gets the 4 stars, communication and helpfulness from Halfords still gets 1.

The customer service is exceedingly…

The customer service is exceedingly poor. You cannot talk to a real person, only get caught in a loop with a virtual assistant. If you do get a person they do not want to help you. They want to sell you stuff.

I recently had a shockingly unpleasant…

I recently had a shockingly unpleasant experience at Halfords in tottenham hale due to the appalling behavior of the store manager. I went to the store with the intention of purchasing a...., but my simple transaction turned into a nightmare.

The store manager, whose name I unfortunately did not catch, approached me with an air of arrogance and condescension. Instead of assisting me with my inquiry, he immediately launched into a tirade of accusations, claiming that I was trying to return a product without a receipt.

I tried to explain that I was there to make a purchase, but my words fell on deaf ears. The manager continued to shout at me, refusing to listen to my side of the story. He even resorted to personal insults, making me feel humiliated and belittled in front of other customers.

The other employees in the store seemed indifferent to the situation, offering no assistance or support. They either stood by and watched in silence or went about their business as if nothing was wrong.

I was left feeling helpless and distraught. The manager's aggressive behavior and the lack of intervention from other employees created a hostile environment that I never want to experience again.

I strongly advise everyone to avoid halfords in tottenham hale at all costs. The store's management and customer service are woefully inadequate, and the atmosphere is one of intimidation and disrespect. There are far better places to shop where you can expect to be treated with dignity and respect.

This must be illegal !!!!

Wow ..... Just wow, you have more chance of finding the holy grail than you do of finding a way to cancel the Auto-renewal on the motor club!!! Do they supply a link to the website? nope, can you do so through your direct account? Nope, what about contacting through the AI chat assistant? Nope, message them on social media, still nothing, making it this difficult to cancel the auto-renewal must be illegal !!!! I'm 3 days into the renewal and have spent each day trying to find any way to cancel and still nothing! I am now thinking of contacting the mainstream media, I would NEVER ..... EVER...... rejoin again as this underhanded method of purposely making it so difficult to cancel goes against what a reputable company should be like. DO NOT JOIN THIS CLUB AS ONCE YOU JOIN ITS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO LEAVE !!!!

Don't join Halfords Motoring Club

Beware if you sign-up for Halfords motoring club. Halfords make it deliberately hard to cancel at the end of the 12 month term. There is no option to cancel on the website. Contractually they say they will send an email to you on how to cancel towards the end of the subscription. This has not arrived. They auto-renew if you don't cancel for a further 12 months.

Booked in for a bike repair and 7 days later still waiting, called in and asked about my bike repair, suddenly its being worked on as we speak, was charged twice for the repair, contacted Halfords but no response after 3 weeks !

GHOST MOTS HAPPEN HERE AT NOTTINGHAM HALFORDS MOT CENTRE had a mot done from Halford they told me it failed on emissions and gave me 7 adviser's and emissions would cost me £1700 as it was sopose to be my injectors and adviser's £980 they told me and they even give me the invoice for it all with how much it would all cost so I took my car to another garage and the car passed with only 2 adviser's absolutely rip offs tryed to have my pants down but luckily I knew a mechanic who knows how halfords work he told me him self they do this a lot as he sees alot of customers come to him with the same problem from halfords he told me they have been done for doing ghost mots in the past to they are still oveusly up to no good at the notthingham depo in arnold ng7 please stay away I really would not adviser's you to use these I hope people see this review as these hard times and halforda are doing this to people they need shutting down or really needs looking into

Bought a dash-cam with fitting from Llandudno store on the 29/9 specifically asked for 13/10 to install, had a message on 4/10 saying that they could no longer fit that day but could do the 11th or 12th, could not get these people to understand that I was working that day and was only off on the 13th would not transfer to another store even though I was willing to travel further

The MOT Test Centre damaged my car…

The MOT Test Centre damaged my car during an emissions test and tried to hoodwink me into the responsibility being mine. They left me to arrange recovery of my vehicle for it to be taken to another garage for repair.

I firstly ascertained their agreement to cover the costs of recovery. I informed them that they were responsible for paying to put the damage right. Reluctantly, they agreed.

On return of the vehicle to their test centre, they refused to carry out an MOT test.

Very dishonest! I won't be using this garage again.

No show and excuses

Paid for mobile windscreen repair £40 on Saturday, booking for Monday. Called me Monday morning to say they can’t make it today and to reschedule to Tuesday. Called Tuesday morning and said they had no resin left and we’ll call you when we can come out. No call, now Saturday, called call centre and got a refund (3-5 working days!) but no apology. Very poor. Got no resin? Like a coffee shop with no coffee??
