Disappointing and discriminatory…
Disappointing and discriminatory customer service
My partner and I visited the bedroom and furniture building today. When we arrived, we politely greeted the door attendant and thanked him for opening the door, but he completely ignored us. We brushed it off and went about our shopping.
However, as we were leaving, there was a white couple directly in front of us. The door attendant was incredibly warm to them, opening the door and saying, "Bye, take care." Right after them, when it was our turn, we said thank you to him again. Instead of acknowledging us, he deliberately avoided eye contact, looked up at the ceiling, and stayed completely silent.
The stark difference in how we were treated compared to the couple right before us was impossible to ignore. As an ethnic couple, it felt explicitly discriminatory and deeply unwelcoming. For a store that boasts about its service, this was a terrible, hurtful experience. Management needs to address the behavior of their front-of-house staff.

First class for all things ‘home’
Firstly, the furniture is beautiful but moreover it is always a pleasure to shop at HU. The staff are helpful, friendly and courteous; communication re: purchase receipts and delivery information is excellent, and goods arrive as planned. HU is our ‘go to’ when we are looking for something special for our home.

Great service
I ordered a new suite which was made to order and was kept informed of progress by lovely staff. They then arranged the delivery which went well, again, lovely gentleman made the delivery.

Fine company for service and quality
The delivery men were Lee and Dave. They were extremely careful bringing in the furniture and discussed along the way where to position it. They gave good advice on care and maintenance. Unfortunately, one of the lights was a purple colour which they reported immediately and a replacement and technician will come and change it in about three weeks The staff at the sales and after sales have been professional throughout and apart from the faulty light the quality of the cabinets and table are exceptional.
