I purchased the tickets for a visit to Northumberland College Farm but will not be going until the week beginning 26th October. Ordering the tickets and booking ahead was no problem

I was looking for a couple of dining out deals to give as birthday gifts for family and I found two that were just right.
Great value for money and local for the recipients for whom I was gifting them.

Usual great service

Each year, this event seems to get worse — less interactive, less in keeping with the theme, and quicker to walk around. For the price, the overall experience is becoming increasingly disappointing.

There were no zombies walking around to interact with visitors, which was a huge let-down. The only real interactive attraction was a cage experience where you could queue to go inside for two minutes. However, the queue was far too long to reasonably expect children to stand waiting. Why not have two or three cages running at the same time? This would reduce waiting times, improve the experience for families, and potentially generate more money for the charity.

We saw one person dressed as an interactive security character walking past us, but that was the extent of the character interaction we experienced. For an event of this kind, there should be far more characters walking around, engaging with visitors and bringing the theme to life.

The glasshouse was another disappointment. It was essentially just a light show, whereas in previous years it has usually incorporated something relevant to the event’s theme. This year, there was nothing beyond the lights, which felt boring and lacked imagination.

Overall, the event felt rushed, lacking in atmosphere and missing the interactive elements that make it enjoyable, particularly for children. It is disappointing to see the experience becoming less engaging each year. More themed attractions, roaming characters and interactive experiences would make a huge difference and give visitors a reason to return.

There is potential for this event to be so much better, but this year it simply did not live up to expectations.
